Last chance for any sleeper agents of the Inquisition to wake up.

I added the new people with their old names. If you want to change just let me know. It is not obligatory to play your previous character.
Please take a look at the house rules and let me know if you dis/like anything.
There are several characters who may or may not wake up.

So are we sticking with just the main book or is it Inquisitors choice and we have all the books open to have fun with? Also had an idea on how to make a 'Guardsman' team without everyone going guardsman.

You could use just about any of the careers in Dark Heresy and just label them as various specialties from Only War as I they were all from the same Guard Unit.

On the Character Generation thread they mention all books are available for DH with a few caveats inside each as far as career/alt career/skills/etc...

Ironically, I'd need to probably go Arbite if I wanted to get to the point of "pilot/driver" like Brena was.

I'll probably toy around with that idea and can spin it, as previously suggested, an attache serving in the capacity of Military Police.

I kind of want to do an idea I did awhile ago which was a Guardsman Medic who was a Penal Legionnaire with an active bomb collar. He just had an interesting background and can make it a bit different or the same as far as it goes, and the collar being active just adds a bit more RP fun between PC's.

Just so I understand what you guys want:
a) An all guardsmen party who are working for the inquisition? or
b) An all guardsmen party who are actually guardsmen?

At the moment based on what the other two have said so far...

We all came from a Imperial Guard unit but we are not going to be all playing Guardsmen careers.  Morrison looks like they were imprisoned before being seconded to the Guard (hence their Penal Legionnaire Rank 1 setup) before being taken by the Inquisition.  Brena looks like she was an Arbite working with the Guard in some capacity before either she was taken by the Inquisition or was mistakenly taken into the Guard and then taken again by the Inquisition.

The main thing if we all went the guardsmen career is that without advances or alternate career paths; the party is pigeon holed into "Smash it with gun fire/melee swarming!"

And that's still a fair ways down the tree to get some flexibility and skill diversity. I'm fine to go with the career but some allowance in terms of campaign or rules may need to be taken into consideration to fit into a DH campaign vs only war since the inspiration is the Tanith First and Only which gets frequently and constantly pulled into weird situations with significant Ordos cross over.

The Guard is a great shared background because no matter what we are from scum to psyker, adept to actual guardsman the Administratum can fuck up properly reassign you to the Guard.  We few would be lucky ones, depending on your point of view, that we didn’t die in the notoriously deadly Guard but got plucked into service with the Inquisition.  Though we could still be operating alongside the Guard but no longer part of it depending on the needs of the story the ST wants to tell.

Basically my idea was that no matter what you picked your base kit was that of the guardsman, and each class was just your specialty or quirk that maybe made it so an inquisitor would want you.

Though I am up for whatever we do, like I said I kind of want to bring back an old character I never really got to play in another DH PBP which is the Penial Legionnaire Medic.

Cool.

So we'll have a Medic Penal Legionnaire out of Morrison.  Check.

We have a Pariah Guard out of miss creepy pants Morrigain.  Check.

We potentially have an Arbiter vehicle specialist out of Brena...

That about right?

Hey I'm glad that you're here, despite being a Pariah and all that.  Or maybe not if I end up being a Psyker.
