Welcome to Baneberry Academy (Weds, August 21st 2019)
Eliza did get dropped off at the outskirts of the school by their mom, who had already successfully guilted them into being a good student this time. For today at least. Eliza wasn't too embarrassed about having to repeat their freshman year, but they also hoped it wouldn't come up among peers. At least, the 'why' had nothing to do with academics, and there is a certain mystique to being someone who skipped school be a delinquent artist. At least, Eliza told themself that. She decided to go with her nicer black jeans, more sneakers originally marketed for skateboarders, plain t-shirt and a flannel jacket, the same she wore to the fair.
Their headphones in, they walked up to the school with the others dropped off by their parents or guardians. Eliza recognized a few of them from Tiffany's party, but not enough that they'd go out of their way to speak to them. Eliza had some sculpting clay in hand, and her backpack was larger this time around, meant for carrying notebooks, lunch and anything else their mom might have thought they needed. They spotted a few people they'd seen at Tiffany's party, but gave them a cursory greeting as the meeting entailed.
Eliza waved and nodded to Tiffany and Felicia when they spotted the pair, and went to sit somewhere not far away, knowing Tiffany was probably still making rounds to all her other friends. She hadn't spotted Anthony until after sitting down, a few rows behind her. She tipped an imaginary hat in greeting to him, but didn't make any attempt to interrupt his attempts to make his move on the cute girl.
At Felicia, Eliza thought loudly, *Hey, Felicia, How are you doing?* Eliza wasn't quite certain this was how telepathy or mind magic worked but the concept of trying to shout a thought inside their own head was entertaining enough.
