Buojrez, Raelle, and Alberic make their way back along the ledge (so recently vacated by Mhari and his "passenger") to the spot where the spikes have been pounded in and the other climbing preparations made.  On this day, the conditions and visibility are good and only a few loose pebbles are knocked to the floor of the ravine were it is narrowest (on the west, closest to the clave walls).

Leave litter, dead branches, skree, and guano obscure whatever geological floor this area has. The walls are steep, rugged stone.  Higher up, the south side leans over the crevasse, and small flying creatures can be seen flying in and out of small caves, off narrow ledges where they've nested.  Their high pitched squeaks and cries provide a low din of background noise.

As the group makes their way eastward, Buojrez and Alberic can point out the spots where they've located the corpses of humans, still mostly buried in the depths.  Past the overhang that marks the mysterious cave (on the north side), the way opens to allow at least 3 abreast.  Larger rocks and sandy patches mark the floor as the sides of the ravine narrows above.  Farther on, it becomes much like a wide cave and the slope downward increases a bit.

Mahri catches up with the others as they're reaching the wider space.

OOC: It's a good time to ask questions, look around, etc.

Mhari shows up as the party prepares to enter the rift in the ground.

Walking up to Raelle, "You want point on this? I trust Buojrez has Not exaggerated about dangerous beasts in there..so watch yourself!"

He unslings and shoulders his "Mass-Blaster Slugspitter"..

As they move beyond the cave, Alberic carefully examines the floor of the area for any signs of tracks, recent or otherwise.

Or he would, if his attention didn't keep getting distracted by everything else in the ravine.

Mhari notices Alberic wandering off, "Hey Alberic.. the ravine is THIS way...?!?"

"Hmmm?" Alberic looks up, his concentration broken by Mhari's interjection. "I..." He looks as if he is about to object, gesturing towards the trail he has picked up. Then he realises that he has just picked up the tracks they made coming in, and is now wandering back the way they came. He gives an embarrassed cough, and hurries after the others. "Yes, of course. Just, er, a fascinating place this, eh?"
