With all the new faces, will we be running synchronised threads, all joining one thread or waving a magic wand over differences in time to make a better (and easier to manage) story??

No synchronized threads at the moment. Levi and company are in a separate thread because they have some catching up to do. However, they are also in the main thread after they've caught up.

I would not mind sending Forge off to retirement and bring in something else. Not as wrapped up with him than I am with my other character.

No problem. Just make up a new character and we'll find a way to insert him.

Of couse, the alternate is to plat one of the NPCs, though obviously it wouldn't be your character, but yo could tweak it to suit you.

Any idea what type of character you'd want to play? There basically 4 types... everything else is some variation on that: Combatant, Stealth, Techie, and Face.

Technically, the Crew of the Katerina can/should be posting in both threads.

The Katerina's Crew should be posting in the Group 1 thread because they have unfinished business to take care of and because their timeline is a bit behind the timeline of the other two ships.

It is with a saddened heart that I inform you all of the passing of Robert Rusk -- better known to many of us as StarMaster.

Rob passed in his sleep on Thursday morning, July 6, 2023, at approximately 10:30am.  He had been hospitalized since early in the year due to complications concerning Cancer & associated surgeries.  He was 73 years old.

Rob was a Comics Fan Boy & fiction writer wannabe his whole life and came to Roleplaying in the Early Days of 1978.  It was my distinct pleasure to have met him, and gamed with him, since that time.

After his Retirement, Rob committed himself to the community he found in RPol, participating in over 20+ games, here.  He was an especial "softie" for GM-adopting abandoned games and working to keep them running, for the enjoyment of the Players.

He will be missed.

His roommate posted this in a game we shared. RIP Rob.

I am saddened to hear this, and my thoughts go out to his family and those who knew him better than I did.

I wish I could have known him better, but am grateful for the time we've spent online together.

You'll be missed, Rob.

I'd probably be more inclined to GM if I could transfer the game system across to something I'm much more familiar with (Namely GURPs) as I wanted to relive my youth and play using the Traveller system...

I found a GM I'm pretty sure, about 70% sure. He's reading the core book now to learn Traveller rules. I sent him the address for the game and told him Rob was merging 3 games into 1. He can essentially start fresh. We all know the basic rules and he's a good seasoned D&D DM and wanted a Sci-Fi game!

I'd be interested in continuing / using these characters somehow. I'd prefer to keep the history / development we've managed so we all have linked back stories but don't mind if we change the direction we're going or time skip to make it easier for the GM.

I think that is a great idea. Levi was in which again? I was in all 6 of his games, one was Classic, the others were Mongoose. Harry and Theodore were with Dawn, Tanja, Fatboy and Levi, right?

Forge was with Arc, Steve, a Harry, Luise and Roland I think.

Well, we still have the one up. This one was the one with Phillip I think, and Jason Billianah.

I just had Levi and Tanja in the one game, so happy to keep both of possible.

Looks like only you and I are interested in gaming on. Others have checked in, but no one has responded. Shame. I think he's planning on running for us though. We can copy paste a lot oh stuff over to a new thread, Big Ron said this would remain for about a year, so we have time.
