Silverback raised one large hand and tilted his head looking at Little Q,"This looks like you have a problem with those four people....more than that, it looks like they have a problem with you. Stop hedging, man, we don't need trouble in our club but we'll deal with it if it comes looking for us."

He looked over at Amy M for approval as his fingers still worked the strings of the standing Bass,"Come on, Q, spill the beans, what's up and what do we got to do to get this straightened out...tell me you don't owe someone money?"

Amy nods to Clyde. "Thank you Clyde. Just hang back for now, but keep an eye on that table over there." Amy tells him, indicating the table with the quartet of obvious characters.

Amy nods at Silverback's questions to Q, indicating her agreement. "What's up?" she adds to Q. Firmly.

"Daaamn..." - Little Quaid's answer's dragged out. "I... I can't. Sorry, guys, I can't, can't do this to ya!" - the small man raises, his chair falling to the back as he shivers in tension and fear. Sweating and glancing right at the table, Little Q bolts towards the exit, ignoring everyone, except the distinct table. There, only the pale man exchanges glances with the nervous musician. A thin, satisfied smile crosses the pale man's face as Little Q bashes against some customers, a waiter and a bouncer, and tries to run off, excusing himself.

The table on the other side reacts almost immediately. Subtly, the muscular man and woman excuse themselves as if they were going for a dance. They exchange glances, looking at each other in complicity - not a loving gaze, Amy and Silver just know it. They do not hurry themselves. Odds are they'll get Little Q outside, away from any prying eyes..

[Little Q's about to leave, followed by the odd table. What do you do?]

Amy really wanted to not get involved. As long as the trouble wasn't inside their club, it probably wouldn't affect her. But Q was one of the little guys, and not just in stature, and she had a thing about them. Plus he was kind of a friend.

Making eye contact with Silverback so he'd know to back her up, she gets to her feet and approaches the table with the four metas. Putting on her gracious host act, and using her Voice, she asks "Leaving so soon? I hate to see dissatisfied customers. Maybe I can give you a round on the house, and you can tell me how to make this a better experience?"

[Trying to delay them all here to give Q a chance to get away. I want to use the AP on my voice that amps up my Presence.]

Silverback was fast enough that he could have caught Little Quaid but he could see that Amy was about to get herself even more involved, or at least more directly, muttering he glanced at a spot in empty air,"Go follow him, Ohm, make sure he is safe."

The large ape put his musical instrument to one side before tugging his suit on properly, all four arms working at the edges, and then knuckling slowly over behind Amy. Silverback moved at a slow lumbering gait, it gave the impression of strength and size, and although he could move much, much faster he liked the edge it gave him when people underestimated his reaction time.

Standing behind Amy he gave a human smile, revealing a set of fangs that many predators would be jealous of and his sheer size made them seem even more threatening,"We're about to play a set, why don't you stay and listen...you'll be amazed at how much better you feel after you've heard Amy sing."

The couple smiles at Amy, measuring her with sarcasm at first. Her gifts make sure that the first impression's easily dismissed. The table looks at her with fascinated gazes... In fact, half the bar does the same, studying Amy's voice and manners carefully.

In the back, Ohm follows Silver's orders.

Both musicians can see the entourage up closer now. The well-built couple ain't here for giggles, clearly, but both drank a lot. The man's cigarrette buns aways slowly as his savage eyes meet Amy's. The other one scans Silver up and down, excited and interested, but captivated by Amy's raw appeal. The pale guy drives his sunken eyes from one side to another while the bearded shortman drinks, smiling towards Amy.

Silverback, while adding to Amy's allure always manages to come off as the big muscle rather than the main man just because of how amazing Amy is! And it didn't help he noticed the woman's interest in him, even if it was purely academic it didn't stop the big monkey man from having almost instant analysis paralysis as he tried to figure out why she was looking at him that way...it wasn't easy being a big lonely gorilla man.

OOC: Rolled 9 on perception, distracted by attractive lady who might be interested.

The gang ain't armed, but then again, they don't need it. Amy gracefully handles the couple as they study her with interest. Still standing, they return to their distractions, small pleasures, cigarrette, a drink.

"Dhalia, the singer..." - the man says.

"Yeah, hon, I know... Say..." - the woman comes closer - "You don't mind joining us, do ya?" - she glances at Silver, top to bottom. "You and your muscular friend as well..."

The only thing breaking the entire picture down's that creepy smile from the pasty fellow at the other side of the table.

"So you know Quaid, do you?" - the bearded fellow spits out in a hastened tone. "You play with him long? I though you had Toni with you. Where's Toni, by the way?" - he scans the room. "Been watching you guys since the Cocoa Track, back in the day. I knew you'd go far... Quaid's going far as well. With the right manager, sure..." - the last line sounds a bit too ominous.

Amy smiles a very attractive smile. "Thank you. she says, ambiguous whether it applies to Dhalia's invitation or the bearded man's compliment. But she doesn't take a seat just yet.

She turns to address the bearded guy, eyes lingering sideways on creepy smile guy for a moment "Toni took the night off because Quaid could cover. We play with him enough to consider him a friend, and friends look out for each other." She lets that hang in the air a moment for emphasis.

"As for success, well, everything has a price..." She shrugs her metal shoulder ever so slightly. "And most prices are negotiable." she adds suggestively as she puts her other hand on the back of a chair, indicating her readiness to sit down.

Silverback looks Dhalia over himself, his lips pouting out a little in thought as he considers the situation as analytically as he could,"I'm afraid that sitting is not something I can do...the furniture is strong enough for most but not for a man of my stature"

He chuckles a little at his joke, his foremost pair of arms raising off the ground as he cracked his knuckles loudly, clearly a little nervous at the woman's frank appraisal,"Yes...friends are important, and price is something I've found can always be negotiated."

The woman keeps studying Silver's physique with interest, while the others are fixated on Amy's face.

"Yeah, yeah, I bet you did pay a heavy price to reach it here. Ain't nice to hoard, though. Why not share some of your secrets, right?" - he smiles a crude smile, reaching out for a bunch of peanuts. "Let's cut the crap... You think we're the reason Little Q's edgy tonight. Well.. We ain't. And letting him go out without escort... Not a good idea. I know your little bot's on the job" - he bearded man turns to Silver - "...but he's not gonna be enough. Not if whatever's looking for Q finds him."

The woman speaks, her eyes always on Silver. The blond man's a bit bothered by her attitude, and his glances towards Silver begin to turn sower... "Well, Amy, we're just looking after Q's interests. 'Sides, we all have a friend in common. Corduroy's after him... And we ain't about to let him... Put his hands..." - her eyes move around Silver - "...on Q. So, if you wanna help, we really should go after him. Now." - as she says the very last word, her eyes turn to Amy, as if to emphasize the danger of the situation.

At that very instant, Ohm's articulated thoughts reach both Silver and Amy's minds. "Trouble. A rather large man is trying to apprehend Mister Quaid. Instructions?"

At the mention of Corduroy, an involuntary shiver runs down Amy's spine. The speech and Ohm seemed too much of a coincidence to ignore. "He's under attack right now! Let's go! We'll finish this later."

She starts moving quickly towards the exit Quaid took, tensing slightly in anticipation of Silver scooping her up and moving much faster than she could.

Go for it Silver, show us some of your stuff! I had a moment to shine, now it's your turn.

the gorilla man, as massive and strong as he is seems a little disconcerted by the now obvious study by Dhalia, or perhaps it's her apparent partners scowl that gets to him, either way he looks off into the distance as he recieves Ohm's message and let's out a low growl,"We gotta go....."

Amy's movement makes Silverback grin, a genuine grin now, although he's concerned about Little Q this is what he does, action, looking at the three of them he let's out a low chuckle,"Sorry for the man-handling but this is what happens when we got to save a friend, it will be quicker..."

With that three of his big burly hands reach out gently to the three of them, tucking one under each arm, making sure Dhalia is in one of the upper arms so she is jostled less, and the two men are in the lower ones...they are less delicate.

Turning, their weight seeming not to slow him even at all he moves faster than any normal car, slowing just enough to scoop up Amy M in his last upper arm and then it's off to the races a silver and grey blur tearing through their club and out the door, a few tables knocking over in the wind as Silverback accelerates towards Ohm's location as he speaks to Ohm,"Just give me directions and keep them in sight...I'm on my way with help"

[Ok, remember that there are four at the table: the bult-up couple, the bearded man and the pale fellow with the odd smile. One should be left behind, or another solution should be found. In case one stays, who's the chosen one?]

Silver runs towards the door with the entire team on his back. Surprised patrons turn heads, trying to grasp the gorilla in action - with little result. Silver reaches the side door and bolts out, reaching the sidewalk. On the other side of the street, the brick wall of a five-store depot faces the bar sign, flashing colors against the wet, poorly lit street.

Doors ajar, the team explodes out, but before they can locate Little Quaid, Ohm or his captor, the air around them turns black, and they're deafened with terrible noise! A thick cloud of insects hammer the entrance as a stream of particles!

[Ok, I'm gonna need a perception check from each of you! If you pass, please, roll dodge defense against DC 15! If not, you're surprised! You can also roll initiative right away.]

Passers-by scream at the scene. Some of them were probably caught in the insect explosion as well!

Beards were strange, at least to a people covered in fur, and he hadn't liked the way the bearded man looked at them so he was the one left behind by Silverback as he lunged out after Little Quaid.

It was only then that he realized something worse was underway as insects surrounded him, but his genetecially enhanced body moved before his brilliant mind even realized what the threat was, leaping to one side with a speed that again belayed his massive size.

OOC: Rolled Perception 20, you didn't give a DC but I'm assuming that's a pass, Dodge Roll 27. Initiative 4...

Amy was ready for something to engage them as soon as they left the club, but she didn't expect a cloud of insects. Bugs with hooked legs and flapping wings clung to her hair and dress as she squirmed out of Silverback's grip and hit the ground in a crouch, bare left leg trailing behind her through the slit up the side of her dress. She was going to need a shower after this fight. A long shower. She pushed down the disgust welling up in her esophagus as she tried to peer through the cloud to locate Quaid or the thing that attacked him.

[Everyone begins with one hero point. Since you just met your first complication, each of you just gained another point. Also, the DC's... well, check it out. :p]

As Silver runs out, beard moans some less-than-pleasant adjectives towards the gorilla, but follows the group as fast as a normal human being can.

Outside, the group perceives the attack coming from above right before the shock, leaping sideways to avoid it! The couple jumps to the other side, falling behind the insect cloud with great dexterity, but the pale man gets caught by the wave. he falls down, screaming and slapping the creatures in desperation! The hornets attack relentlessly, blinding him and weakening him.

[Perception DC was 18 and attack DC was 25; both passed! The pale smiley took two levels of damage; he's dazed and vulnerable, and the cloud imposes concealment]

Silver and Amy are now confronting the scene: Little Quaid's at the hands of a ten-foot tall man of stony skin. His clothes are half-torn - barely anything remains of his suit. He glances at you two, his jade-like eyes furious at the sight. "DAMN, HOPPER! THEY'RE UP! YOU'RE USELESS!" -he screams out. "CONTROLLER, WAITING ON YOU!"

"COME, NOW, YOU! TRY ANYTHING AND I SNAP THE LITTLE GUY IN TWO!" - he shakes Little Q who's hyperventilating, probably in shock.

[Ohm's hidden from sight. Remember to roll for him as well!]

[TURN ORDER: Support team, Amy, Enemies, Silver]

Amy casts a concerned sideways look at the creepy guy going down in the cloud of hornets. She couldn't deal with that, or the obscuring swarm right now. The stone guy would take that as trying something.

Instead she stands up straight, smoothes out her dress, and commands the stone guy with her hypnotic voice, "Put Quaid down."

Afflict 12 (entranced, compelled, controlled), Alternative Save: Will

Silverback was horrified, he was in a difficult situation, and even more importantly so was Quaid! He hoped that Amy's voice would be enough, but he was also enough of an analyst and a scientist to know that there was a chance it wouldn't and even then it might not be enough to win the fight, just save Quaid.

Familiar with the type of powers that a creature like this would have, smashing things was Silverback's trademark after all, he also had a 'cure' for that problem. Lifting his lower left hand arm up he exposed the battle braces beneath the smart suit, with a few taps of his monkey fingers moving in a blur he had momentarily reprogrammed the ray they produced and he pointed it at the stone man a sickly green beam arching out to strike him in the chest.

In the meantime Ohm was putting his stealth to work, and somewhere not to far away the limo was starting up and racing towards them. They needed somewhere safe to stash Quaid once they got him free....

OOC: Using the HP to add an alternate affect to my battle bracers:

Ohm is remote controlling the limo and maintaining stealth....because nothing like an armored vehicle to hide Quaid in!

Slowly, the massive creature puts Quaid down, without threatening o hurt him. Throughout the whole process, his gaze stares at Amy, hypnotized in a sense. Shortly after, he moans and grunts, as if ridding himself of the momentous control of the singer - with no success. His gaze simply rests upon her.

The sickly green ray hits the enemy right in the chest, but to no avail: his stone-like features become even more acute, protruding sharp ends even further as the ray's absorbed by his skin. He's still glancing at Amy, unaware of anything else.

Behind the bug cloud, one can only hear moans and groans, sounds of coughing and chocking... Odds are the other two that leapt behind it are attacked by the insects as well.

[Please, @Silverback, roll for Ohm's stealth. You can also roll Ohm's will resistance against 27, but it'll only be effective depending on it's stealth result. I'll resolve this action and close the turn, so @Amy and @Sylverback, you can post your next actions as well!]

[The limo will arrive in 1 turn.]

Amy smiles, pleased that her hypnotic voice captured the stone giant. "Now go punch Hopper in the face for me." she suggests to it.

[Assuming the stone guy does so and steps away from Quaid:] Amy rushes forward and kneels down. Cradling Quaid's head and shoulders on her lap, she asks him, "Are you ok?"

Silverback is annoyed his smart attack didn't work, fortunately he always had the fallback of sheer power! Growling his frustration he lumbered forward, his four arms knuckling along the ground till he was between Little Quaid and the stone man,"Get out of here, Little Quaid, my limo is coming, get in it!"

Turning his attention to the Stone man, but keeping the line of sight between Amy and the stone man clear he raised all four of his massive fists and brought them crashing down on the stone creature trying to smash him down.

Ohm moves around with a cold, precise voice echoing throughout the minds of his companions.

"I am currently circling the combat area to grant you the locations of our friends and enemies. Scanning the area..."

As Amy approaches Little Quaid, he tries to get up, still dazed by Stoneface's brutal actions. Sweating, scared, his eyes glint towards the massive figure. He finds solace in seeing Amy as she comes to the rescue, as well as Silverback as he faces the stone creature.



"I....I-I... I g-guess. I didn't thing they'd... Wow. I..." - he's clearly in shock, and things only get worse as Silverback delivers four strikes at once on the creature. The fists clash against the stone skin, and the thick creature responds with a void, hypnotized glance... Stoneface's skin thickens almost immediately, responding to the shock. all four fists echo like thunder against the thickness of that stone skin. The chest bends, shocked by the tremendous force of Silverback's strike. The gorilla feels the hardness of the skin breaking under the excessive tension of his fists, opening way to challenge the enemy's apparent invulnerability.

Mangled, he still manages to follow Amy's orders. He jumps up, towards the wall, only to reveal a second adversary hanging from the sidewall of the factory - a small, metallic-blue armored man that grasps the attack from a distance and jumps away, vanishing over the roof of the restaurant. Stoneface's heavy fist hits the wall, causing another thunderous explosion and opening a whole, sending bricks and dust down in a cascade. The massive figure holds on to the wall, glances to the restaurant at the other side of the street and prepares itself for another jump, giving the insect-man a run for his money.

Meanwhile, Ohm's movement becomes apparent as it creates a map model within Amy and Silver's minds. "I cannot locate the one called 'controller', but I could determine the relative positions of two other foes. One's above, clinging to the factory's wall, while the other engaged the guests that came with you, master Silverback."

"Ohm, bring the car around." Amy thinks towards the robot. She looks up to Silverback, "My suggestion won't hold that rock guy for much longer. I'm getting Q out of here in the limo." she announces. She turns towards the cloud of insects still swarming their new acquaintances and directs a hypersonic cone of sound at it to try to clear it away.

[That's probably a power stunt with her sonic powers, so I'll assume I spend an HP. Stoneface should stay hypnotized for a minute after I stop focusing on him.
