RTJ and Character Creation

RTJ:

Without spending a ton of time on a full-blown character, please simply submit:
Character name:
Character Concept:
Optional Origin Synopsis:

Additional optional information in the RTJ field.

Knowledge of the game system is not 100% required if you want to take a stab at playing.

CHARACTER CREATION:
Champions Complete (Hero System 6th edition).

Low-Powered Super heroic: 300 point buy; max 60 points complications.

Powers designated with STOP signs might be denied.  I will look at how many you are trying to incorporate into your character, how central they are to your concept, if alternate powers might do a good enough job replicating it, the powers potential disruption to this particular game, as well as what limitations you’ve placed on them, before ruling.

No powerframes/Multi-powers allowed.

RTJ and Character Creation

A note about 6E:

Several people have played previous additions of Champions (Including me).  As this game rolls along, keep that in mind please.  If someone is using a rule incorrectly, a gentle note of the page to find the correct rules is perfect.  I will try to do the same.

I've also found that Champions games often require a fair bit of GM adjudication. I would like to make clear that I take to heart the founding authors expressed desire to make the rules fit the world, not always the other way around.  I'll sometimes rule RAW, sometimes RAI, and sometimes I'll just rule what makes the most sense to me.

RTJ and Character Creation

Some running notes about character creation:

The game is technically fantasy.  While the world, and the city you will be based, will be very similar to current day United States, it is not the same.  The organizations are different, history is different, politics are different, and even some of the laws are different.  I will flag these as we go.

In general, at the root of most historically significant moments, supers have been at the center of the conflict.  Ancient times held very few of them, and they were considered gods.  Later, as more appeared, they morphed into a more feudalistic set of kings.  Eventually, the world came out of these dark ages with the development of the idea of the superhero.  The fought oppression where they found it and essentially drove villains from overlords of entire countries to mere criminals.  While that's not always the case, that division of supers from 'human affairs' largely still exists today - with a couple exceptions.

RTJ and Character Creation

I'll be running two groups for the game.  There will be some crossing between groups as adventures go forward, for plot, for character development, and if people drop from the game.
