Notable NPCs

Gathering this as much for my convenience as anyone else's. I'll fill it in over time, so might have some blank/placeholder posts. Not all of your characters would necessarily know all of this information, but at least some of you would know any given person here.

Lawton's Glen

The Council of Concerned Citizens

Heimer Lawton III - President of the Council of Concerned Citizens. Owner of Lawton General. Dresses like a very important man: top hat, moustache, beaded necklace that he claims is a gift from an elf whose life he saved.

Celeste Lawton - Older sister of Heimer. Proprietor of the Candlelight Inn, which she decorates with her own paintings. Known for organizing events and keeping up the spirits of year-long residents during the long winters. Wears a wide-brimmed hat, low-hanging skirts, and big, clashing jewelry. Doesn't like people trying to get to her brother through her. Takes a while to get into her good graces, unless you've got a recommendation from one of her "children".

Qastàru Canton - Half-elf who owns a large wilderness guiding outfit. Offers guides to hunters, trappers, and traders, but most of his business is to wealthy southern tourists who want a "northern experience". Like his customers, he wears high-end clothing in the style of an outdoorsman, but his gear never gets put to rugged use.

Fastinnius Felter - Garishly dressed impresario of the Lawton's Glen Theatre Company. Though not a year-round resident of LG, his willingness to bankroll civic improvements with his personal fortune has earned him a seat on the CCC. His aspiration is to turn LG into a center for the arts, a place for people to experience the cultural products of other races. He's idealistic and occasinally naïve, well networked, a "founder" type.

Tara Aston - Priestess of Roda. Wears a simple robe and a wheel pendant. Oversees the temple in Lawton's Glen and supervises maintenance of the shrines to the north with the help of eight clerics and dozens of volunteers.

Others

Grina Jawbreaker - Proud half-orc and proprietor of Jawbreaker's. Thought to be a refugee of the Orc Wars but doesn't much talk about her background. Rumor has it Heimer Lawton lent her money to start the tavern, though why is anyone's guess.

Father Antonius - High Priest of Amala.

Notable NPCs

The Kerit

Olav - Chief (lidar) of the Kerit clan. Father of Leif.

Gudrun - Gudrun's father was Ulf, the Kerit's shaman and a mentor to Arvid. Gudrun has inherited the title and some changes in demeanor along with it.

Signe - Mother of Signe. Claims his father was a long-haired skald radical named Bjorn who sang a song, The Elf Without a Face, that was a thinly veiled parable for Northmen living without clans.

Brenna Tovesdottir - Childhood friend of Arvid. Encouraged our heroes to sneak out of camp and investigate the approaching orcish army against Lidar Olav's wishes.

Tove - Father of Arvid's childhood friend and of Lidar Olav's chief advisors.

Astrid - Was in love with Ove, a hunter killed in an orcish raid. Over the objections of her mother and grandmother, snuck off on her own to try to bury his body before the creatures of the Shadowrealm found it.

Sten Ivarson - A Northman hunter sympathetic to Signe. He brings her extra food without Olav's permission, though not, according to Gudrun, without his knowledge.

Sondre - Hunter ambushed and captured by orcs. Rescued by our heroes.

Velte - Hunter ambushed and captured by orcs. Rescued by our heroes.

Enooya Deepsnow - Quinichiat hunter and trapper from the Naitsu tribe. Taken prisoner by the Kerit and held as leverage in negotiations with her tribe over hunting territory.

Thori Reddigger - A dwarven blacksmith who claims to be in exile after an isolationist leader named Thori Blackhammer orchestrated a coup in the kingdom of Gruundelheim. Has pledged to make steel weapons for the Kerit in exchange for their protection.

Notable NPCs

Guthluthic

Midwife Brigha - A "midwife" seems to be something like a spiritual matriarch for an orcish clan. Brigha is a frail, eldrly orcish woman. Hair explodes from her head in frizzy, tangled nests of gray. She wears shiny jewelry and has a faraway look in her eyes, both of which are milky with cataracts, as if not fully aware of her surroundings. She stands unassisted but with noticeable effort, and her head lolls slightly, her neck pivoting in response to nothing in particular.

Jhasa Ironhip - Mother of Raheera. A large orcish woman with braided black hair protruding from a colorful bandana tied around her head. Cymbals dangle at her side. Carries a bow and two obsidian swords with curved blades. Missing both her breasts.

Raheera Ironhip - Daughter of Jhasa. A large woman with wide hips and long, colorful braids in her hair. Wears low-slung hide pants and a sleeveless fur vest. Missing her right breast. Betrothed to Leif Olavson, though she treats him more like a prisoner than a fiance.

Leif Olavson - Son of Olav, chief of the Kerit clan. Betrothed to Raheera Ironhip to cement the alliance between the two clans, which is really more of a vassalage.

Jogan Agnison and Bodar Brandrson - Northman boys, ages 8 and 6, sent by the Kerit clan to live at Guthluthic to secure the clan's loyalty.

Treg - An orc warrior with the carapace of a scorpion, along with the insect's tail swinging behind it. Apparently the result of one of Midwife Brigha's experiments.

Modakh - An orc warrior with four spider legs dangling awkwardly from his back. An even less successful experiment than Treg, his spider legs are not functional.
