A wall of blazing light appeared at Caell's, barring the southern door and incinerating those shadows caught inside. Those not so incinerated held back, fearful of meeting the same fate.
Opalia battered her way through the last of the shadows blocking the northern door and out into the wailing storm, where she stood alone in the face of the god Kinak's wrath. "
FIGHT ME, CRAVEN STORM-WORM!" she shouted, hurling a javelin. The missile was lost to the winds, but the dragon's neck of black clouds bent so that its eye could stare at her, just as it had when she'd peered through the air vent in its Shadowrealm lair.
Cora, meanwhile, sliced through the very fabric of time and space to appear by the black fire where Fergus had been a moment before. Her golden blade sang as it cut down the creatures it was forged to destroy.
The remaining shadows retaliated, swarming and slashing at the half-orc. "
Look out!" Emil shouted, hurrying to join her.
One miss, one hit for 18 damage and 2 strength drain. I don't recall the wording on the Starbound Blade but you can use the reaction to negate the strength drain against yourself if you like.
You have advantage on your next attack.
Fergus, reeling from the shadows' claws, staggered south, where the blessing of his god banished what shadows lingered there.
The travelers who had sought refuge there still looked reluctant to pass through the wall of shimmering light. "
Hurry! While the way is clear," Badger shouted, leading the way herself. Three of them followed her through, but one old man, limping, fell behind. Winded, he seized upon Arvid's shoulder to keep from collapsing.
Qastaru Canton and his crew continued to mill about by the northern door, some shoving toward the entrance, others holding back in terror of the dragon outside. "
Idiots!" the noblewoman scolded them. "
Do you plan to flee into an orcish army? Lawton's Glen is this way." She stomped south through the center of the tower, heedless of the risk of collapse. The tourists looked to Qastaru, who, frozen as a startled deer, nodded weakly and followed.
Enooya, who had already reinforced the walls once with powerful magic, cursed them. Lacking the strength to cast the spell again, she obeyed her elder and moved toward the dragon-god at the northern door.
Quenya and her ranger companion were already outside. The elder druid raised her hands, beckoning toward an unseen sun. To Kinak's outrage, she carved a hole in the god's storm through which blinding light seared the storm god.
Quenya cast Sunburst. Kinak used a legendary resistance to reduce the damage and avoid being blinded.
"We must fight with them," Valaku told Sikuaq. Before joining the front line, he lay his hands firmly on her shoulders and infused her with the most powerful magic he possessed.
Sikuaq, you have Resistance to Lightning damage.
Alan looked reluctant to venture outside, but the skald slapped on the back with a hand heavy enough to nearly knock him over. "
Can't linger here, lad," he advised with a smile. "
Glory awaits!" He led the lad outside, singing a valiant song.
Everyone in the Northern group can move unhindered through difficult terrain. Ranged attacks are still at disadvantage due to the high winds, though.
Arvid and Sikuaq have actions now, then Kinak is up.
