Route 113

The man scowls. "We need to switch target! Magneton, Wild Charge on that Staryu!" The metallic pokemon turns around and charge toward Shuriken, who quickly avoids the attack. Though the sudden maneuver also lets it avoid Weatherman's attack.

"Mind your own business!" The woman commands her Nidorina to use Sludge Bomb again, and with the distraction from dodging the Magneton, Shuriken gets hit directly, knocking it out.

Jake leaves as Sparker jumps on the Primeape, taking a series of kick while the monkey glows in electricity. As you reach the door, you see another Gaia goon heading toward you, who jumps in surprise as he sees you. Behind him is a corridor, and another man peeks out of one of the doors. "What's Primeape shouting ab... Oh shit! Dartrix! Come here!" he shouts as he sees you.

"Shuriken!" Seymour called out in alarm as his fragile Staryu got knocked out. He returned it to its ball. Now he really hoped they could reclaim this pokemon center.

"Basher, you're up. Help Weatherman lay the Smack Down on that Magneton, then blind its three eyes with your Mud Slap! Weatherman, burn, burn, burn! You can do it!"

Roggenrola is attacking the Magneton with Smack Down (in case it floating immunity to ground attacks like Weatherman), then is following it up with Mud Slaps.

Castform is going to keep using Embers on the Magneton.

Jake wasn't having any of it. If Team Gaia didn't have a pokemon on the field, they could just get out the way, on seeing the grunt heading his way and another man by the doorway, Jake figured he'd just force them all into cover.

He flicked a pokeball forward, releasing growler,
"Growler, flame wheel down the hallway! Get them to get out of here!"

Jake didn't think Growler would hit any of the humans, they would probably have adequate time to get into cover, but he did want to put some more pressure on them to show he was serious about dealing with them. He followed up Growler's blitz down the hallway with a threat,
"Come on, get out of here. I'm sick and tired of dealing with your crap all the time. I don't care about what you want to do, it just pisses me off! I'll let you run if you go now; otherwise, I'll show you Street Justice."

Jake didn't indicate his idea of 'Street Justice' was hanging people by their pants on a clothesline above a street. Maybe it wasn't practical around here, but perhaps he could find a suitable lamp post to hoist someone by their pants!

"Don't let him establish himself! Toxic that rock!" The Magneton sprays a dark purple fluid on Basher, making it look sickly. That doesn't stop him from bringing it to the ground, though the poison is hurting him.

Weatherman keeps up her assault as well, wounding it again, but she's forced to dodge the Nidorina's attacks, and the downed metallic pokemon launches a high-pitched sounds to confused her, with a cloud of sparks. That thankfully doesn't last long, as Basher covers it in mud, knocking it out.

"Tsch. Nidorina! Take out that rock with your Fury Swipes!" The blue pokemon turns around... but slips on a discarded magazine, throwing her off balance. At the same time, recalling his Magneton, the man sends out another pokemon. An injured Mightyena.

As the flames run down the corridor, the Gaia grunt just barely jumps out of the way... but the green owl flying out of the other door jumps right into the blast, getting injured before it even knows what's it's facing!

"Nice work, Basher. Take a rest. Glumpy, you're up. Hopefully you don't get poisoned too!" He returned the Roggenrola and let his Shroomish step forward. In truth, he hoped the Nidorina did end up using Toxic on Glumpy, thanks to her poison heal ability. But he didn't want his opponents to know that.

"Weatherman, I feel a cold front coming in. Make it hail real quick and use Powder Snow on the Mightyena. Glumpy, Leech Seed the Nidorina, then Mega Drain the Mightyena!

Weatherman: use Snow Warning ability if possible, followed by Powder Snow on Mightyena.
Glumpy: use Leech Seed on Nidorina (to hopefully counteract the hail), then Mega Drain Mightyena if it is still standing. Note that Glumpy has the Poison Heal ability if Nidorina poisons it.

Jake was a bit surprised that a pokemon came out right at the perfect time for growler to land a hit.  Nevertheless, he was able to keep giving orders,
"Alright growler, lets try out that fire fang that you were practicing on the wild pokemon earlier. Take down whatever that owl pokemon is!"

After ordering growler, he quickly checked about himself to see if any of the team gaia grunts were trying to get a flank on him.

The air quickly fills with snow and ice, as Weatherman crystalize and attacks the canine. You can't help but shiver at how cold it suddenly got, but the Mightyena has it worst, getting knocked out before it can even get a blow in. With her foe gone, Glumpy turns her focus to the Nidorina, seeding her... only for the rodent to almost knock her out with a critical blow from a Sludge Bomb.

The grunt retrieves his Mightyena, scowling. "I... I'll go get the others!" he shouts, heading for the door at the back of the room. The woman scowls as he flees, and she reluctantly draws a second pokeball to send out a Kantonian Raticate.

"Keep your distance, Dartrix! Use Pluck!" The green bird tries to follow it's trainer's command, but the alley is too tight to get away from Growler's fangs. It doesn't take long for the canine to take down the Dartrix.

From the back the other grunt shouts "I'll get the others!" As the grunt closer to Jake sends out another pokemon, a badly wounded Swampert.

Seymour watches the grunt reach for the door... only for it to open in his face and send him to the floor.

Seymour was worried about the Gaia goon running off, but they didn't seem to make too far anyway. He didn't have time to investigate why, since he was busy handing out new orders. "Weatherman, try to freeze that Nidorina with Powder Snow! Glumpy, heal those injuries by Mega Draining that Raticate!" He then called out behind him to the Pokemon center yard. "Marigold, Dusky! I may need your help over here soon after all. Come on over!" He would have liked to keep them as scouts, but it seemed any reinforcements would likely be coming from inside the building at this point anyway.

"Alright, drive them off with a roar!" Jake suspected that the Gaia grunts were already in a panic, so he hoped growler could get them to run off without any more fighting... but if they didn't make a break for it, he readied a pokeball to swap out growler for skipper, currently one evolution short of its opponent.
"Skipper, chuck a mud bomb at that swampert to drive it back!"

The big rat jumps at Weatherman, gnawing at her aggressively while she struggles to follow your instructions. Their struggles are bad enough that Glumpy can't find an opening to drain the Raticate. Still, your Castform manages to freeze the Nidorina, and Glumpy does heal a bit from his Leech Seed, despite being hit by a second critical Sludge Bomb.

But at the same time, it seems the newly arrived grunt is pulling out a Revive...

Despite his wounds, the Swampert moves quickly, launching a ball of mud right at Growler. It doesn't hurt her too bad, but the roar she gives sounds more pitiful then terrifying.

You swiftly switch up your pokemon, and reply with the same attack. Unfortunately, the Swampert's attack is much stronger, and even partly blinded, Skipper gets knocked out by the attack.

Meanwhile, behind you, the sounds of fighting between Sparker and the Primeape have died down...

Seymour's eyes went wide when he spotted the revive. That was the last thing he needed right now. "Dusky, if you're available, I could really use a Knock Off attack over there..."

Without a whole lot more he could do while in the middle of a battle, he focused his attention back on the fight happening in front of him. "Weatherman, try to freeze the rat too. Glumpy, if you can manage it, try another Mega Drain!"

Dusky: use Knock Off to disarm the revive.
Weatherman: Powder Snow the Raticate to try and freeze it.
Glumpy: Mega Drain the Raticate. If Glumpy has fainted, send Basher back out to finish off the Nidorina with his Mud Slaps while it is still frozen.

"Nuts" Jake said with an edge to his voice. He retracted Skipper, who performed much worse than typical. He figured swampert would have good defenses, and be a good all-around fighter, so he didn't feel like he could get an edge with any of his pokemon. He just had to hope that Seymour would be able to keep the pressure on while Jake fumbled against the swampert.

To buy a bit of time, he threw Bandy into the scrum,
"Fake out, then follow-up with a feint attack, try to knock it out!"

Weatherman keeps struggling against the rodent, getting a few nasty bites before she manages to knock it out with Glumpy's help. The stress of the combat kills off most of the lights, leaving the room in a half-gloom made worse by the hail. With so little vision, it's only by the curse the grunt gives that you realize Dusky succeeded is his task. The only foe still visible is the frozen Nidorina.

Bandy jumps out, dashing between the large pokemon's legs and striking where she can...

OOC: And optionally knocking it out, if you're willing to spend 7 favors.

While you cheer your raccoon on, you hear footsteps behind you. Too loud to be Sparky's...

//Favor points deducted for KO.

Jake didn't even get a word of praise to Bandy before retracting the wily critter. He was always more than a bit concerned when fighting gangs... they don't always play by the rules, so there was a non-zero chance he would be directly attacked by an opposing pokemon... and it sure sounded like there was a bad pokemon behind him.

Jake jumped forward, towards the KO'd swampert, twisting in midair, releasing fetcher towards the sound behind himself.
"Aerial Ace now!" Jake called, hoping the hallway was long and wide enough to accommodate a flying birdo.

Seymour was proud of how well his pokemon were doing, but he didn't have time to adequately express his praise at the moment. He issued his next round of orders instead. "Weatherman, let's turn this hail to rain, then you can rest for a while. Marigold, you're up! You and Glumpy practice your tackles on that frozen Nidorina." Hopefully the Leech Seed and lack of hail would help Glumpy to continue to recover. Plus the rain would help Marigold feel more comfortable out on "dry" land.

He looked around the gloomy room for Dusky, but figured the dark-type didn't mind the dim atmosphere so much. "And Dusky, wherever you are, keep that grunt disarmed and occupied!" He was happy that all of his pokemon we're getting to contribute meaningfully to this fight.

Castform: Using Rain Dance, then switching with Magikarp.
Magikarp and Shroomish: Tackling the Nidorina.
Absol: Keeping other grunt distracted and unable to use items via Knock Off.

The hail melts in mid-air, soaking the room. But before your companions can attack, the grunt recalls her Nidorina. "This is too much! Grab the loot, and break for it!" The three grunts run for the back door, but despite the call to grab loot, they don't seem to be carrying much.

Jake didn't have too much up his sleeve, but him and Seymour were already close to each exit, so it would be a bit easier to run down the fleeing team gaia members.  With a flourish, Jake released his remaining conscious pokemon (Fetcher, Rusty, Growler, and Bandy) and gave the order,
"Stop em from getting away! Tackle them to the ground, or something like that"

Jake then rushed into the back room to pull sparker into its pokeball, then tried to chase down some of the team gaia members himself.

With all their pokemon too injured to fight, it's pretty easy to tackle down the grunts. One of them tries to escape out of a window, but it's so much of a struggle that Jake easily cuts him off before he can flee.

While you watch over the group, Nurse Joy tells you "the guards from Vollemond are on their way, they'll get here soon!"

"Sure! Just give me a moment, I have to remove the lock-down first." The nurse goes to the computer, calling someone on her phone. After a few moments, the medical systems turn back on, bathing the room in a soft but steady light, contrasting with the flickering lamps damaged in the fight.

"Alright, just pass me your pokeballs, and I'll get your friends back on their feet!" One of the lights over the counter gives up, shutting down permanently. Seeing your worried glance at it, the nurse gives an embarrassed laugh. "Don't worry, the medical equipment is on a different circuit, and perfectly stable. There's no risk."

By the time the last of your pokemons are healed, a squad of soldiers lands outside the center, and move in to apprehend the Gaia grunts. They ask you what happened, but Nurse Joy is the one giving the most information. With what you went through before, you can piece out what must have happened.

After their attempt at raiding the military base, this group of Gaia grunts ran off after their pokemons got knocked out or injured. They managed to escape from the patrol chasing them, but with their teams so beaten up, they needed to heal.

This Pokemon Center was on their path, but Nurse Joy had already been warned about them. So when the grunts got here, she knew they were criminals, and she was able to lock down the medical system before they could use it. Undeterred, the grunts used their least damaged companions to overwhelm Joy's Chancey, and used a Magneton to scramble communications while they looted any healing items they could find.

They managed to find a some, until they were interrupted by a visiting trainer who managed to escape after his favorite pokemon was knocked out. Not long after, the two of you showed up, and thanks to the warning you were given, you were able to launch a serious assault on them.

With the goons in custody and all his pokemon healed, Seymour released all of his pokemon at once. "Come on out guys. Basher, Marigold, Dusky, Weatherman, Glumpy, Shuriken. You all did so great today. I think some extra treats are in order for tonight!" He would then see about getting himself and Jakey a place to stay for the night and relaxing. After helping to clean the place up a bit first, of course.

Nurse Joy winks at you, and after some discussion with the soldiers, they transfer some money to you. The bounty for arresting a group of criminals that assaulted a military base.

As for a place to stay, the Pokecenter has a small dormitory with bunk beds for passing trainers. There's not much privacy, but it's comfortable enough for a night.

But, as you prepare to turn in... Bandy starts glowing. And soon, she's replaced by...

Wreckoon, the Burgling Pokemon.
Wreckoon are known to work in small teams to steal food. When a horde of Wreckoon are in the area, no home or pocket is safe. They use their mallets to break windows, bust open locks, knock down fences - and fight any guard dogs along the way.

You can both raise your money one step, and you get 20 favors!

Now for some pokemon leveling.

Basher: SpD increases to Weak
Marigold: HP increases to Below Average
Dusky: Reduce Youth to 2 (-2 to all stats check)
Weatherman: SpD increases to Exceptional
Glumpy: Def increases to High
Shuriken: Speed increases to Awesome

Skipper: SpD increases to High
Fetcher: Gain either Super Luck (User has +5 crit chance) or Defiant (When opponent reduces user's stats, gain +2 Att)
Growler: Learns Take Down
Take Down Normal P High -2 User takes Low damage recoil
Bandy: Evolves, and her Def increases to Average
Sparker: Gain either Indimidate (foes get -1 Att when user enters the fight) or Celebrate (when user KO a foe, gets +1 Speed)
Rusty: SpA increases to Low

The story will continue in the thread Route 105... and I should have changed thread three times already...
