Re: OOC Center
Depends on the twist. If something obvious comes to mind, I roll with it. If not, I may skip it. It all depends on the check. For example, when Teddiursa got a random event during his Fury Swipes, I decided the best way to interpret it was that it stopped the multiple-hit at that point instead of continuing for the full five attacks. I also added a bit of banter to fit with the event's prompt.
The thing to remember about random events is that I don't have much more to go on than what I post in the summary: I have the Type of event (PC Positive), an Action (Develop), and a Subject (War). They don't have any inherent meaning, they're just inspiration so I can come up with something.
There are cases where I'll just ignore the event's prompt, and go for a more situational effect. For example, getting a random event while trying to heal your Pokémon would result into either an injury or a penalty that can't be healed outside of a Pokémon Center.
'Chip damage' isn't really a thing in Mythic. If you fail to hurt, the hit has no effect at all... unless it's a move that can have a special effect, since those aren't usually linked to the damage done. So even if a Lick fails to cause a wound, it could still cause Paralysis.
That does mean the rules need a few 'fancy' changes to reflect certain Pokémon move. The best example right now would be Leech Seed. By the book, I'd have to roll a very low damage (or an unopposed check) to see if it dealt enough damage to count as a wound. Instead, I decided to turn it into an RS bonus to other attacks the victim takes to represent the cumulative damage taken.
For Favors, they're normally retroactive. However, since I'm doing the rolls, it's not really feasible to do it that way. That's why we're going the Conditional route, telling me in what condition you want to use your Favors, and what's your spending limit. So you could set it as a small bonus to hit (say, up to five points to change a Miss or No Wound into a Hit/Injury), or you could use it as a safety net (having up to 10 points ready to try and avoid an Ex Yes injury).
