Jake only pinned the woman down, he didn't knock her out or anything. Getting her down the cliff would be pretty difficult, though Portia has enough spare rope that you could tie her up, if you had time.

And that's your main problem right now. You're about to be discovered by the rest of Team Gaia, and can't really escape them while dragging your prisoner.


On a side note, I didn't come up with the idea for Team Gaia. It's something I found on Reddit, and adjusted to fit the setting.

Hey all - sorry to have gone AWOL all this time.  Life has a way of popping up and causing trouble, which in turn saps capacity for being creative.  I've been keeping up with the game all the same though, even if I haven't been posting.

@Storyteller - if there's no signal on the Pokedexes, can they still be used to make calls in the immediate area?  Such as for Portia to call or text the group to figure out where they are?  Or can Houdini figure it out with some plot-device mind reading and jump them back straight to rejoin the group at the Bug Hunter's place?

The Pokédex work pretty much like a cell phone as far as calls go. If it can't contact a communication tower or satellite, it can't call anyone. Although it seems almost able to connect, but the connection isn't stable enough to maintain a call.

As for Houdini's telepathy, it isn't strong enough to find someone yet. But climbing a tree, you can spot a few interesting things:
 - There are a bunch of lights on the mountains to the South-East (probably Bluweil). It's still pretty far, but you could reach it with a bit of luck.
 - The blue lights are still heading North-West, in an evenly spread line about East to West.
 - And they seem to be heading toward another, yellowish light. It's hard to spot, but it seems to be a weak light bulb. It's far by foot, but Houdini could reach it without too much issues.

Hey Jakey, I am planning to wait and see what you do before I make my next post. If you have interest in a dunsparce, I can help you try and catch it. If you were planning to try and escape instead, I would probably have Seymour trow a pokeball without even thinking about it, then make a break for it whether it is captured or not. (Catching pokemon brings out my greedy side, so don't ever feel bad about "stealing" a catch from me.)

Also, Storyteller, what happens after we catch six pokemon?

Normally, the extra pokémon gets teleported to the region's storage system, just like in the game. It's a normal function of the Pokédex.

Of course, if the Pokédex can't connect to the PC, you could end up carrying an extra Pokémon or two.

Jake is just wanting to run, especially given Atticus just shouted and team Gaia might still be close.

Otherwise he would love a derpy Pokemon like dunsparce, but it isn't something he really really wants.

Does this include his new Dunsparce? I don't have its stats yet though, so it doesn't matter too much yet anyway.

Lotad: Raising special defense from "above average" to "high."
Glumpy: Raising HP from "above average" to "high."
Locke: Raising special attack from "above average" to "high."
Farrah: Raising attack from "exceptional" to "incredible."

I'll keep the stats on mudkip. The poor froggy needs some love (though he will probably become more beastly once he evolves). Right now Fetcher blows him out of the water.

No amount of love will save Skipper from 2 speed rolls of 99 @.@ that is some seriously bad luck. At least he didn't take any damage.

That was an impressive lack of luck... and it gets worse: Skipper fell to the Clefairy's charm, and is Infatuated with her.

Seymour doesn't have any noteworthy questions. I am fine with moving on to the next step of the journey whenever everyone else is ready.

Welp, the pandemic has thrown my entire life into chaos but at least I have more time to post! Will be catching up either tonight or tomorrow.

It now official, I'm infected. Not that it's a surprise, between my roommate having caught it and the coughing I've got. At least I'll be done with it in a few weeks.
