Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

How goes the characters? Any questions? Requests? Have a happy turkey day and post as you can this week. I understand holidays can be busy. So, I'll forgive you this week if you can't meet the posting needs. But, unfortunately the Russians do not feel the same way.

Muwaahahahahah, cough, cough, ahaha.

edit: sorry, I forgot. you new guys will be coming into the fight from a converted super carrier turned troop ship on a UH-1H Heuy slick. You would have been equipped (if needed) with the following:
6 x MREs
2 x Canteens
2 x Smoke grenades
2 x Colored smoke grenades
M16A2 w/up to 10 magazines (loaded)
TA 312 personal radio
Cheap sunglasses
Poncho w/liner
A letter from the Commander thanking you for your sacrfice

Can we get a new map, I'm not sure where we are exactly after running like hell away from the truck and incoming gunnery.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

new map up, it shows team location, Torv's location, where the suspected sniper's vicinity is, the impacts are big red splotches, and the smoke is depicted as well.

very soon now the scene will advance to the next mission profile, and the new meat, er, characters will come in.

I will be introducing the new characters into this scene through tonight. No one has to post an immediate response. Feel free to chat, send a few radio messages back and forth in the game thread, and devise any plan of action you want to.

Sorry I took so long. I forgot my father had surgery this morning and I got caught in RL for moment.

Well, the gang is all here, sort of. The fireworks have already begun, the storm is not far behind the new guys, and I pretty sure the Russians are too far off either. Oh, and don't forget those angry Poles you shot up.

Tran and Wolfebane were assigned to a scout platoon assigned anti-armor duties. They were referred to as Carson element after Kit Carson. Tran has the callsign Dropper 1, for bomb dropper or a mortarman, and Wolfebane is known as Boomer 1, he blows stuff up after all.

You are not.

1. Patrick made a reference to our vehicle, that we do not have with us, that only Andrew heard because it was said a few hundred yards away from Roger, Mark, and James (and was not being said on the radio).

2. Mark, not aware that he is a few hundred yards from you guys AND that the vehicle in question is back with our unit gear (probably still on a ship at the moment), thought he heard it and responded.

3. James, equally unaware of the mitigating circumstances and inexplicably having brought more gear than he can carry into the field with him, responded hoping to use the vehicle we don't have to carry his extra things (which he probably does not actually have with him).

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

I will get a new map uploaded tonight, remember that posting over the weekend isn't required but I do appreciate it and I will keep updating.

I will pickup at house, assuming that all of you are there now. Please make a note changes to equipment.  I will post a list acquired intelligence assets and available battlefield loot.

Thanks and good job so far, really enjoyable.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

New map update, red dots are the artillery strike, the dilapidated house is house than was made into a museum. It wasn't used because it is basically falling in. The HE shell that hit it demolished a portion of it.

The other house was built and used by a local business group for public events and it is essentially a collection of rooms and a kitchen with a small parking area. that is where the team is, or so from what I gathered in the posts anyway.

there is a slime yellow line in the middle of the map, above that line to the north is the area the party members have traversed in combat, post combat analysis, or simply traveling to the current position. below that line to the south is unexplored territory.

on the main road coming into the area there are several black markers, that is where the smoke is rising from the A10 attack runs, which are marked with a yellow arrow.

The A10s are not on station anymore. Once the enemy begin moving into the area there are several places where the team can observe their movements, remember the map only covers about a square kilometer, about 6/10 of a mile.

Recovered intel (all written Polish)
Maps showing troop movements to match orders to begin said troop movements
From Bimini the the 131st Polish Infantry Regiment has moved north and east
HQ and 3 motor rifle companies (1,200 men) to the town of Yelvington, Fl.
orders specify 4 x SAU 122 self propelled guns (122 mm) to set up near Yelvington
1 motor rifle company (400 men) to Faver-Dyke State Park
orders specify 3 x ASU 85 self propelled guns (85 mm, tank hunters) to this area
1 motor rifle company (5oo men) to Pricess Perfect Preserve at Pellicer Creek, Fl.
order specify 2 x T62M MBT, AT4 ATGM equipped BRDM and BRT 60 APCs
From Bunnell the 9th Polish Tak Division has moved east and nort
HQ and 2 motor rifle regiments (1,200 men and 8 T62M MBT) to Palm Coast, Fl.
  orders specify 4 x BMD weapons carriers (120 mm mortars), 24 x 82mm mortars, 2 x SAU 122 self propelled guns, 1 x ZSU-30-6 self propelled anti-aircraft battery
1 motor rifle regiment (300 men and 2 T62M MBTs) to the Pellicer Creek area
orders specify AT4 ATGM equipped BRDM and BRT 60 APCs
1 motor rifle regiment (300 men and 2 x T62M MBTs) to Crescent Beach, Fl.
orders specify AT4 ATGM equipped BRDM APCs

According to the warning orders issued the Poles have been told to watch for and intercept a beach landing between Palm Coast and Crescent Beach with the next 72 hours. The orders were issued with 'immediate compliance' endorsements 26 hours ago.

According to the documents captured the Russians are expected to send a small force of men and tanks (not specified) to the area of Bimini, Fl. within 48 hours of first contact with NATO forces to act as a reserve and reaction force.

there are two radio log books with codes, no code key is present, it is probably with an assigned officer who wasn't discovered among the dead.

It is possible to grab half a dozen AK74 assault rifles, magazines, and a handful of hand grenades if desired.

The DShK heavy machine gun (12.7x99mm) and 6 cans of ammunition (17 shots/50 rounds, of armor piercing-tracer rounds) and there is the Dragonov rifle with half a dozen magazines, but Torv's bullet pierced the scope tube and eyepiece prior to piercing the Pole's skull. It will need a scope. It does have iron sights.

Just looking at our current location, is the pool full?  Have we checked out the garage? I assume that's what the smaller building is.

This is Andrew's anti-tank complement.

M-3 Carl Gustav

FFV441 84mm HE x5
FFV551 84mm HEAT x5
ADM-401 84mm APERS x2

M6 C-640 Mk1 60mm Commando Mortar

M722A1 60mm WP x2
M888 60mm HE x1

It looks as if a ambush on the access road will be our best bet at this point.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

There is an old BMW station wagon in the garage. It hasn't moved in years. The pool has about three feet of green, leafy sludge in bottom of the deep end. House is clear, but looks as though someone had moved into the house-turned-community center after the conflict broke out in 95 or so. It hasn't been used in years, but it is of better construction than the other house. It is made of brick, flagstone, newer steel frame, and synthetic siding.

The list of anti-armor stuff is what was tossed out of the slick when Tran and Wolfbane were ejected to make room for Torv.

It's a lot of stuff, but not so much a couple of men couldn't ferry in a couple of trips on an improvised gurney or sled.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

The only anti-tank gear I got was a pair of PzF-11-1 LAWS, and a grenade launcher with HEDP. I was under the impression we were going to be on foot at the start so the majority of my equipment allowance is unspent. I didn't think taking over half my load for a 60mm mortor was a good idea. :)

If the expectation was that we were being dropped with a heavy load to set a trap, and not have to haul it far thee are several things that I might have gotten as well, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Anyway 2 PzF-11-1 and a grenade launcher.

In reply to Mark Tran (msg # 109):

It's not a full size mortar like you are thinking, but a commando "knee" mortar. As they were made for SF the weight is minimal. Only thing is we only have one HE and a couple of WP bombs for it.

Hmmm, if we had tools I might be able to get that BMW running, how out of commision does it look?
Alternatively by the time the battle of the crossroads works out maybe we can piece something together.  :)
