Andrew Johnson:
In reply to Mark Tran (msg # 109):

It's not a full size mortar like you are thinking, but a commando "knee" mortar. As they were made for SF the weight is minimal. Only thing is we only have one HE and a couple of WP bombs for it.

I wish I could justify having a couple of cases of mortars for you, my guy is actually pretty good at indirect fire. Hopefully resupply at some point will help us out.  :)

I will work on getting a better map set up for this fracas. I will also give everyone time to chime and make some plans.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

Uploaded map. It has numbered areas. The hardest to see through is leaving area 6's lower left corner into upper right 8 and upper 9. Plus visibility is crippled by the weather as well. With lightning or searchlights (white light or IR) you could see well into areas 1 and 5 from the team house. Without searchlights, give it fifty to sixty meters with night vision and thirty meters with the old Mark 1 Eyeball.

But, on the bright side, your positive the Poles don't have a clue where you are. And you just dropped artillery on them, again.

What was the eta on the main body arriving?

How big roughly is it on each side of square 5?

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

Owing to the need to intercept landing forces, they are probably going to make their way due east the set up positions overlooking the coastal highway. Most likely by taking the roads through 7, 8, and 9. A good leader would send a scouting force to look for personnel such as yourselves and another force to reorganize anti-air operations in the area. Most likely using two differing routes force said smaller forces.

I know the grids aren't exact, but the whole maps is about 300 meters by 300 meters roughly. Close enough for rapidly escalating death, far enough for a small skilled team to slip away.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

Given the most likely path the Polish forces would be taking through grids 7, 8 and 9; an interception point along Princess Place Rd and Old King Rd is most likely a good starting point.

Princess Place before or at the crossroad in grid 8 would look the best to me, once we add more branches the more chance to set up in the wrong spot happens.

The roads branching up into grid 6 and than coastward seem less likely but you knever know what the other side will do.

Claymores to cover potential infantry approaches, with trip flares to our flanks.  The anti tank mines covering the cross roads of Princess place Rd & Old Kings Rd with square 8 being the primary area for our defenses.

Any feedback/suggestions?

Grid 3 was the scene of the recent firefight turned artillery barrage. It is place that will be investigated by their recon elements, and you know to assume that your presence is expected.

Sorry Guys I got called away fro work and thought I would be able to post, but alas no.
So I'll get something up soon. I was thinking that running through any roadside ordnance might be a good idea first and then have us try to mop up what is left as a rough plan ?

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

Sorry, busy time of the year. Your evaluation of the situation is very good. You estimate that you thirty to forty minutes to set out some hasty defenses. Make a note what you want set up and where. You could place approximately half of the mines with four people. Hit me up with any questions.

The trees on the road way, are they close enough that they could dropped to split the attackers? I take it that the demo kits to not have remote control detonators?

demo kits are set up with two dozen rf detonators, two dozen time fuses, a master detonation panel that can handle up to a dozen wire leads allowing control of ignition for up a dozen separate charges/chains.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

As soon as Patric posts we will go to the next round. Andrew and Tran will have reloaded the CG and Andrew will be free to engage again. Tran can prep another reload and keep an eye out for any Andrew. Just so we are clear, firing a heavy machine gun is an obvious action; big muzzle blast, very loud, tracers pointing back in the general direction of the firer, muzzle blast debris, etc.
