Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

Sorry chaps, busy weekend and barely online.  I'll be headed out to the bush on Friday and may or may not be able to get reception.  Hopefully the bushfires will stay away from the area.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

Ok, so I think I have sewn some confusion. I love game rules, at the table, but play by post often needs simplification. So.....

Use you weapons/combat skills at their listed values, I will tell you if it is a hard, very, or nigh impossible attack. This means modifying skills using a percentage of your skill for each difficulty level.

normal = 100%
hard = 75%
very hard = 50%
nigh impossible = 25%

so a hard shot with a rifle for a firer with a CRM of 60 would be an effective 45 skill.

right now you all are facing hard shots do a combination of poor visibility, enemy movement, range, stress, fear, discomfort, and pressure from the enemy.

To fire an aimed shot means one shot on one target only for an action, but it will be at normal skill. you still need to be able to see the target, i.e. night vision at night, a scope for long range shooting, rangefinding for very long range shooting, and so on.

For each shot fired you use of around three bullets, each shot needs a separate die roll to hit, and you can fire on different targets within range.

Sound workable? Open to your comments.

There is a new map, it shows everyone's position as I saw it in my head by the posts. If it is way off let me know, otherwise roll with it. The new grids are 150m by 150m and hopefully give you an idea to to what the enemy is doing. The red triangle is the T62M, the red dots are the enemy grunts, the green dot is the lat sighting of the wounded officer. this is what is immediately observable.

So with my 50 CRM with a hard environment would be 37% or so. With the remains of the belt, about how many bursts are left on the Dshk?

Around 7 shots. Yes, you are correct, also. Flares and a spotter would bring it back to normal.

Something is running rampant. My mom is in the hospital with pneumonia, and my wife has not been feeling well for the last few days.

For those of you with the FO, forward observer, skill make a roll against you listed skill level. Thanks.

Also we may have lost Mark Tran, I'll give him to the end of the week and then we will discuss it as group. Sound fair to everyone?

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

This particularmodel had all the ammo stored in hull sponsons and loaded into a five round carasel that fed the autoloader. The 84mm shaped charge blew through the side of the turret and killed the long distance radio, secondary electrical junction box, and the tank's loader/mechanic. The breech is very long and the autoloader is very wide, so the turret was stripped down for space. There is a deep decleviity in the back of the turret where the shot expended itself. Next time aim along the side under the back half of the turret just above the road wheels for an ammo shot.

Why are we not going to blow the tank ? I don't think our allies will want it and I  don't think we will either ?

Castle had plans I think, just waiting until he gets back. Aldo if our guys can use it we may as well give them the option.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

if its any help in decision making the tank is like 90% intact, has like 3/4 a load of alcohol fuel and is 1/2 full of 100mm APFSDS ammo. it needs a long distance radio, but the short range tactical unit is intact and capable of transmitting around 5km. The interior is scorched a bit and there is the matter of the loader/mechanic being splattered all over the interior.

In reply to Dr. Strangelove (msg # 155):

Can anyone drive it ? A little but more the Andrew's familiarization course back in the day.

My biggest concern was whether we could hold it given we are suppose to be a light recon unit.

There is no army on Earth in the T2k world that can afford to throw away a weapon that is still useful.

If we can deliver that tank to our side it's a big win. Well worth the effort.

Even if the gun no longer works, you could always stick on an A frame and winch to use it as a recovery vehicle.

Re: If it's gotta be said OCC...

The threat feels serious, but not urgent. There isn't any real enemy presence within 150 meters or so, as far as could be observed with binoculars or night vision the moment. and visibility is rapidly decreasing because of the storm.

You still have time to decide on a course of action, make a plan, regroup, etc., etc.
