So I am done with my character sheet except for equipment and weapons and apart from personnel arms we should probably discus what "team" weapon systems and vehicles we all want.

The vehicles would have to have a amphibious capability first and foremost so some sort of wheeled APC, V150 or the like ?

Now my character is British so I was thinking a Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle might fit the anti-armour role and perhaps a 60mm mortar for support with small shoulder launched systems sprinkled around the team, M72's etc ?

In reply to Andrew Johnson (msg # 4):

So far it looks like an SAS operator, a marine scout/sniper, an Intel officer specializing in interrogation, and a fourth member is considering something along the lines of a Ranger or SF also.

Seems like a group shaping up a combined services recon team. There are still a couple of unfilled slots. But I expect the game to start this week. I added some basic intel, more to come later.

From delving over intel, seems Lake County is firmly in the hands of the Russians.

((OOC: I live in Citrus County, just South of Levy, in real life))

Also I have 21k in cash for gear

Suggestions wanted.

Good character

McDill and Eglin were nuked in 1997. In January 2000 the population of Florida is just under 2 million.

Sounds great.

Torv is our former jarhead. While he has his attributes, I'll be looking forward to the nitty-gritty and his equipment over the next day or so.

Ok, so everyone should focus on outfitting their characters with personal gear and weapons. Any vehicles, large or particularly heavy weapons, large amounts of supplies and ammunition, or heavy duty tool kits, generators, etc. can be worked out based on the needs of the group as it relates to their particular mission.

Any leftover money and combined vehicle rolls will be handled in a few days as well.

As for the actual mission of this particular group, currently I am leaning towards one of the following;
1. covert insertion for the retrieval of a high value enemy leader
2. covert insertion for the retrieval of a high value allied prisoner
3. covert insertion to conduct snatch-n-grab operations with field interrogations
4. covert insertion to conduct search-n-destroy operations from field interrogations
5. tactical insertion with the intent of gathering intelligence on a location
6. tactical insertion with the intent of scouting ahead of offensive operations
7. helicopter insertion to conduct a long range recon patrol behind enemy lines
8. helicopter insertion to conduct a raid behind, with helicopter extraction

this could all change if any more players join and significantly alter the general makeup of the team.

remember two very, very important things;
1. it is a military game, so characters will have to take risks
2. the group doesn't have to operate like members of a British unit in a WWII movie
