Ground Rules

  1. If you have a problem, be egalitarian with your criticism.
    • DO bring the problem to my attention though.

  2. I will be posting short, often incomplete, one to three paragraph posts. More often it will be one tight paragraph. Please try to keep your posts (as a mode not a mean) to this volume. If you have a one liner that very elegantly sums up your character's part, that's fine. The same is true if you have a very thoughtful soliloquy. In general one to three paragraphs, of this rule's length as a metric of "paragraph" length. I have some time issues involved with reading and writing. This is a pragmatic rule for keeping the game going. :)
    • Feel free to ask for clarification on issues unresolved. I will certainly miss some content for making frequent but broad posts.

  3. If you log on to the game, post in the group 1 or L at the very least. If you have only 10 seconds to log in, don't log in until you can dedicate enough time to post TBTP (too busy to post). It is a long feud I've had for people who log in but don't post. I'm not of zero tolerance, but make an effort to let me know when you're too busy to post. If you log in, and continue not to post, I'll put you in group Z. If, however, you want to leave the game. Simply ask. I will never guilt you into staying. Please also remember rule 1's sub rule.
  4. Make a cooperative character. If you made a lone wolf, or cynical character, fine; but that shouldn't apply to the other players' characters. Much grief can be avoided if the players cooperate. You can be surly in character, but be cooperative in your expression of action.

Some notes of consideration:. These are not rules. They are points to consider.

I make villains that are often, or at least have been of people I've ST for F2F, despicable. They may instill a hatred or desire to spit curses at. That's great! Feel free to target demons, or wyld hunt antagonists, or any antagonist really; with all your animosity. My concern for animosity really only applies to PCs. My antagonists are meant to attract your ire, or at least your character's ire.

Every challenge I put forth to the players is to be reacted to and explored by the players; not necessarily overcome. If the players frequently ignore my plot, I may be stymied, but the I want to stress this next point. I don't create challenges to be "won" or put characters in a fail or succeed situation that only permits for success. IF your character dies, that may suck, but I have options available to players upon such an event. So don't be afraid to be bold, and at times brazen. Exalted embraces this drama and I am a receptive ST to this. The Wyld Hunt is an event permitted and welcome to narrative, not a game end scenario. When it happens, it's just a suspenseful scene, and that can often only be ended by action.

I favor action over planning. Well beyond 10 to 1. So KISS (Keep it super simple). Some planning is beneficial, too much will often be tedious and slow going. There is no perfect plan. If you have to ask "what are we missing?" in a plan, the answer is; putting it into action. ;)

I mention this points because they have been the weakest links in my games that have failed. I want to make sure everyone understands this, so I'm expressing it as best I can. I do sincerely hope none of this will be a problem. I want us to have every chance for this to be fun; for everyone. :)
