2 Age of Magic (1200 to 2400)

  Magic was everywhere and in everything.

(This was the age that made people believe alchemy was akin to magic.)

3 Age of Nations (2400 to 3600)
-------------------------------

  This was the age where people learned a lot about how to get by without magic. Money, trade, civilization, power structures... all things that once established showed the people of the world that magic, while it was indeed convenient, was not necessary to live prosperously or even to have a lot of power.

  Still, some missed magic or desired it for various reasons (and there were still things only possible with magic). Those people did what they could to get magic; studied hard, struck deals with powerful magical beings, or other methods. But magic had been permanently less potent and more difficult to attain than in the prior age.

4 The Forgotten Age (3600 to 4800)

  Nobody but the gods remember what happened here. Some refer to it as the "Age of Silence" and there are a few left over relics that seem to date back to this age. But any and all collected archaeological artifacts of this age are few and far between.
