Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

So I wanted to open this question to the group. Obviously I am writing Kargun's speech in a Scottish dialect. I recognise that could be hard to read or understand, particularly if your first language is not English (or even if it is!). If anyone would prefer I write in plain English please let me know and I don't mind changing.

Good enough this far, English isn't my mother's tongue but I have read Rob Roy (in english) and somehow managed, so I think it should be fine in the future too.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

For clarity's sake, are we all seated together or did we divide between those who sat down with Etain and those who sat down with the coachman (aka me)? Ain't 100% clear there.

Am happy isolating myself from the main group (Jareik only really gets along with Gerhart so far after all+was on watch duty so didn't socialize in the coach) for a bit of drama/tension, but just wanted to make sure we are all on the same page.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Be as it may to be honest, don't get a sense that the place is so big or packed and noisy that things wouldn't be heard from one to the other.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Oh it isn't, there's only the roadwardens (a few of which leave anyways) and the barkeep besides us so we can definitely hear each other if we wanted.

But Etain's post semi answered my question I guess. Since Jareik isn't exactly on best of terms with Etain he wouldn't choose to sit next to her if there were other options available, so he didn't. And in doing so became the only one not to ruin her little tete a tete, you bunch of third wheels!

Since there were two booths at the back, and roadwardens were seated near the hearth I'm interpreting this as coachman claimed the first booth and Etain claimed the other, so we are in separate booths and Jareik is indeed being the edgy loner of the group, preferring to hang out with the coachman then the rest of you.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

People can choose to sit wherever their character would choose to sit, would Jareik choose to sit with the people he's to be on a mission with and try to talk shop or get to know them or just begrudging;y sit in a corner, having a drink.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Etain was kinda right on the money earlier when she said Jareik wasn't being a team player+didnt' travel a lot. In his head he imagines things going like this: arrive at village, team up with Gerhart and find the missing person, be done in a day or 2 tops, then get money and hopefully never see Etain and the rest again.

So from his perspective he has no desire to get to know the group besides maybe the dwarf. Even though he is cordial with the mage, he still has a healthy fear of her due to being superstitious.

By contrast, he spent the entire day on guard beside the coachman, even though they likely didn't say much during the journey, so he would be more interested in getting to know the coachman.

So yeah, sitting in a corner bregrudgingly it is :P

Beware of Mages, I heard that they can explode, make you go bald or give you warts... Probably.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Just a reminder that was chatting up to the coachman a bit and did ask "Know much about Fatldorf by any chance?". Otherwise will assume he had nothing much to say, a man of few words indeed.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Just a quick question: how do you want us to post in combat? Should we give our intended actions and rolls as part of our post? That might be a good way to do it with all of us posting once and then GM giving an outcome post for the end of round.

Anyway, this is our first fight so just wanted to get aligned on GM's expectations.

07:59, Today: Kargun Halfhand rolled 41 using 1d10+38.  Initiative.
Edit: I forgot the -10% agi for armour. So my initiative is 31.

That is what I normally do.
State your actions, along with potential damage etc, and I will select and detail what is relevant. Much easier and flows better.
