Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Etain Seanait:
And how much would material be for tests, I.e. I wanted to make a hand weapon how much would the steel and other materials be.

Again, fair question.
Assuming the size of Altdorf you could likely pending size and stature of the blacksmith have a stable provider of materials, from  a larger trading company or similar.
That means prices for materials could fluxtuate between 30% of listed price upto 50% of the finished products price(average price as per rulebook).

I would argue that for ease and given the size of the smith, you could look at roughly 25% of the total cost, per test.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

On the roughly higher end of what I've seen, sounds good, I'll try to RP getting materials in game for some flair.

Also, Gerhart our quiet friend what maychance are you playing.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Allright got the ball rolling with a basic post.

Just realized that the game info doesn't mention anything about past antics or the war against chaos, which might have confused Etain a bit when I bought it up previously.
But basically for disclosure sake's, me and milly and gerhart were in another game with the same dm before this, it had been ongoing for many years (remarkable for an rpol game tbh) and we 3 joined up at the very end of it and played together for a brief few months. Due to us having 0 connection to the plot threads that had pushing the game forwards, it was decided we might aswell just start a new game entirely.

So unless dm says otherwise, am treating this game as a continuation of the old one. Which means that we are still living in the storms of chaos setting: aka the one where archaon got his arse kicked outside altdorf by grimgor ironhide. This is a timeline where the warhammer world didn't get nuked so is best timeline :) But it's also why my pc might bring up hochland and hergig being devastated and why he sends money back home to help rebuild it. Of course Etain being from Albion might not know (or care) about any of this.

It also means that my pc will of course recognize milly and gerhart, I'll consider the old business in the previous game got concluded in that we ended up arresting the dude and preventing their plot from happening. Any more then that is beyond my concerns as a humble merc, will assume the witch hunters ended up taking over.

You raise a viable point Jareik.
In the transfer, I did not include so, but I should.

Etains native tongue reminds me an awful bit of my native language(I am from Denmark), so quite the chuckle, understanding it for what it is.

That was khazalid, since we dont have language groups I picked Norwegian for khazalid, I'll use Irish Gaelic for Albion

Hold on a second, are we supposed to have met previously or something? or is it something that was arranged between you two? (Gerhart & Jareik)

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Didn't arrange anything per say, but did state previously would be treating this game as a sequel to the one we were in. So our previous teamup is cannon and us 3 already know each other.

If this isn't ok with everyone, happy to edit post and do the intro over.

We don't! Argh, no, I forgot. Let me do this today, as I normally use it, and update you all on this.

Updated and gone through sheets to reflect which groups you belong to. Should work now!

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Allright because me and milly talk outside this game..

TLDR milly is treating this game as a fresh start due to various concerns and thus will act like my pc doesn't know hers. Gerhart if likewise you want to treat this as a fresh start let me know and I'll edit as needed.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Given that we spent most of the brief time as a trio in the previous game threatening one another while Jareik tried to keep order, I think a fresh start is worthwhile. That way Gerhart and Milly can find something else to argue about.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Allrighties then, after discussing it a bit in pms, summing up for the sake of transparency:
fresh start but jareik and gerhart know each other, time spent previously arresting a dude in the other game is canon and is how we met.

Edited post in accordance, all the kinks should be ironed out now.

Just thought of something else, were I to try and forge a GQ or BQ item, would I still pay the base % of cost I.E. Forging a sword @say 40% would that be 4g or 40g?

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

I actually like the notion that in order to make BQ you need this:
quote:
Manufacture: For explanations of item quality, see WFRP
pg. 105. A tradesperson’s capability depends on the
number of skill mastery levels:
Skilled: Common quality items
Mastery +10: Good quality items
Mastery +20: Best quality items

So basically your skill level sets your peak. That levels things a bit.
That said a perfect check(All successes, on all dices), will raise the quality a level from standard.
So no, the materials are the same generally, for all items, but the skill level is the difference maker.
