Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Damage is then minus your toughness bonus and minus your armor on the hit location.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

So that 5 damage is nullified? (4 toughness bonus+3 armor everywhere for a grand total of 7 damage reduction)

Allright cheers.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Jareik Schneider:
Either way Marie is a tanking monster, brushing off multiple 10+damage attacks, feel safe to say that Jareik definitely would be dead by now in the same situation, even with sword and board.

Speaking of mitigating damage, since this is first time that my pc was hurt... Does our received damage take into account our armor?

5 armor in all locations, dodge blow as a free action, shield used as a defensive weapon, hence free parry, and toughness means you can stay in the thick of it.
Granted, poison, magic etc, can target toughness or WP alone which means even the strongest foe can be downed, or drugged out of combat -> So yes, in ideal conditions she is very hard to take down, but enough enemies or similar tricks can cause her wounds also.

As for Jareik - yes. You have 7 DR, but take 5 damage, hence no damage taken.

Take it as a mental note not to get on Marie or Etain's bad side. ;)

Gerhart and Milly - please provide an update even a short one so that the round can proceed.

In reply to Marie Arceneaux (msg # 170):

No promises, I enjoy a bit of IC drama/tension if it feels natural ;P Plus this way gives characters more room to grow then if everyone super loved each other right from the start.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Sorry, I caught some overtime this week, and, also, Gerhart has had a whole character sheet change that I have yet to finish.

Storyteller, every map has thus far failed to update where Gerhart is.

I have moved you Gerhart, my bad!

Also, what a round, rolled two Ulrics..and confirmed them...thats the part of WFRP that makes combat ever uneasy.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Is it possible to choose which attack you parry after the fact?

No - always in order.
Attacks come swing by swing, and that would be too much of a meta-mechanical jump logic wise that even a trained fighter in the thick of it, can judge which attack should and is the hardest or worst - everything is hectic and split second, so personally I have always opted for the realistic approach where dices decide when luck strikes and thus also that while a player may know how much hits, realistically he has to prepare to parry as the blow comes, not after he or she knows it will hit.

Sorry, to long - but no. I do not believe nor determine you can.

You know what, I think Gerhart was entirely fine and dandy miles back from the brawl.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Also turns out I'm a dummy (as if previous mishaps hasn't made that clear!). Had the sharpshooter trait, gives me +20% when aiming instead of +10% so I would actually have landed my shots in the first few rounds. D'oh!!!!!

I was hopeful that I would have some spell to snuff or manipulate flames, but turns out pyromaniac tier magicians make poor firefighters. : (

What better way to put a fire out than to consume all available fuel in an INFERNO?

@Gerhart, given the weather, and soils density, I would allow a +0% check.

Re: OoC - Out of Character Thread

Yeah, sorry, I've had a hell of a week. I'm actually fine but it seems like everyone around me is having one sort of disaster or another.

Gerhart will head to a physician, definitely, then have a drink and a deep sleep.

No worries man, besides chasing after things in the dark would probably have been a bad idea especially as some of us are wounded. Sorry to hear people around you are going through rough times!

Post inc in a bit.

The worst thing is that if it turns out that I have some sort of powers to cause misfortune to those around me, I'd be morally obligated to start hanging out with politicians.
