Thani shows up at the appointed time. Her antennae quivering and rigidly upright. She nods to Dr. Dupont (And everyone else as they arrive).

Kate glances at Cmdr Decker Geary as she makes her way off of the bridge. "Commander, I'd advise a full scan of the system, to check for any encrypted communications or cloaked vessels.  Our briefing suggested the Romulans or Dominion may be interested in our research here, So it may be prudent to keep an eye out for anyone observing from a cloaked vessel, or hidden observation team." Kate says as she stares down at Jorrett four, a chill running through her spine as she did.  This was one of the early colony abductions, just being here creeped her out although she'd deny it to anyone who made an accusation.  At least the Collective hadn't been seen in this sector for quite some time.

Giving a quick nod to Istala and the bridge crew she made her way down toward the transporter room grabbing her gear from the armory along the way.  She really wasn't sure why Farah had assigned her to this mission but she'd do her best nevertheless.  It wasn't her place to question the Captain's orders.  As she stepped into the transporter room she looked around and gave a polite nod to everyone.  She was familiar with everyone except Lt Tzerak.  She leaned against the wall with a somewhat distant look in her eyes.

Vanna arrived five minutes early to the transporter room with the standard away team gear.  She gave a polite smile at everyone mingled near the transporter controls, having little to say she gave a friendly wink at Alex and nodded to Thani as she entered.  Taking note of Kate's tense posture but deciding it was best not to ask why the retiree was stressed.

Jason entered the transporter room and glanced around. He carried not only his phaser at his side but a phaser rifle held in one hand.  He also wore a sheathed mek'leth. Considering the precautions, he thought it was prudent. He gave a nod those that had arrived previously and smiled tightly before moving off to the side. His gaze lingered on Vanna then Thani before finally resting on the obviously tense Kate.

In reply to Katherine Seward (msg # 4):

Deckar listend to the diplomat as she explained her concers and gave her suggestions, they mirrored his thoughts exactly, "Yes Lt. Seward, excellent suggetions, butship secturity will be Captain Greene's concern, since she will be remaining on board the Mihoshi.  But I shall forward your concerns to her."  Making a note on his padd, he forwarded on the suggestions.

"If you will please excuse me, I need to grab some things frmy quarters." He smiled kindly at Ms. Seward, "I shall meet up with you and the Away Team shortly."

Making sure his tricorder was in perfect working order, Bart double checked his equipment.  Double checking he had all he needed, he made his way to the Transporter room, greeting everyon as he entered.

Grabbing the items for planet-side, Commander Geary double checked his uniform in the mirror.  Once he was satisfied that all was proper and in place, he arrived in the transporter room.

"Commander sh'Ellpaph and Commander Blatt, is everything ready on your end?"

Then turning to  Nynev, "Commander Nynev, is security prepared for any unplanned events?"

Turning to the Doctor, "And Doctor DuPont, I hope that your services will not be needed."

Nodding to the diplomat, "Ms. Seward, I'm glad to have you come along, as wellas you Lt. Keyes."

Alex smiles at Geary, "I have plenty to do to pass the time. I would welcome an uneventful day that my services are not needed Commander Geary."
He hoisted up his medical gear backpack and prepared to get on the transporter pad with the team.

Kate nods to Decker but its clear if given a choice she'd be anywhere but on the away  team for this mission.  She squirms slightly in place and glances between the others. "I don't see how i'll be of much use on this mission but I'll do my best sir." Kate says reluctantly.

In reply to Decker Geary (msg # 9):

Padd in hand, Thani is a positive ball of barely contained excitement. "Be ready sir. So much to do today!"

Thani leans to Kate with a lowered voice, "You can help me not make a fool of myself. Deal?"

"Yes Sir." Blatt stood at attention, "We have gone over the specifics here.  We just need to set up the for actual tests to make sure all protocols are in order." Then with a bit of excitement in his voice, "Just waiting to see that that torpedo is capable of,sir."

Walking over to the diplomat and looking into her blue eyes, "Ms. Seward, you have one of the more important if not difficult task.  You will need to see if they are hiding something or being completely honest."  Glancing around the room, "Getting someone comfortable enough to let their defenses down is a skill very few have."

Jason's gaze moved to Geary a moment then back to Kate. He moves closer to her. "Don't worry ma'am. I will have your back. No one will hurt you."

He intended on doing his duty which meant protecting the diplomat who happened to be Kate. Looking past her, he let his eyes rest a tad bit too long on Thani before he looked back to Katherine.

Malko arrived fifteen minutes early, immaculately groomed, with a conventional hand phaser and a case of Vulcan wine in a small wooden chest.

  He also had a small box. Setting it down on the transporter he shows the small tags within to the operator. "I asked engineering to prepare inconspicuous pattern boosters for our team. I've been in more than one situation where a hostile force used a scattering field to make transport dangerous without them. Please get the frequencies."

  Nynev was early too but only 5 minutes. She appeared as she usually did on duty,  blab uniform, Andorian duelist sash with ushan'tor and phaser 2. "Good afternoon everyone."

  She turned to Jason then with a smile.  Jason knew her enough by now to see the differences between her smiles.  They were always cute, which didn't lend itself to the intimidating air most security chiefs cultivated.  Her professional smile was relaxed and confident.  Her off duty smile was playful and flirty.  Her killer smile--which he'd only seen hints of but enough to suspect it would get more obvious in an actual violent situation--was fierce.

  This was a relaxed and confident smile.  There was also pride in it.  "Ensign walker."

  She held out a cylindrical package wrapped in silk.  "I wanted to offer my congratulations on your promotion.  You've done fine work in the time I've known you."

Farah could have led the team.  Some would argue she should have, but if she couldn't trust them to handle as something as simple as a test procedure, then she had chosen poorly.  Once everyone had gathered, she entered to see them off.  "I'd wish you all luck, but I have every confidence you won't need it," Farah said, looking each over.  "You all know your duties and I expect you'll execute them."

"Jouret Control to Mihoshi," a male voice called into the communications.  "Dr. Brenn is ready to receive the team."

"Acknowledge, Jouret," Farah replied before glancing back at the transporter technician.  "Energize."

Moments later, the team transported into a labspace that was an obvious mixture of Federation and non-Federation design, as well as a mixture of Takaran and Federation races at various stations.  As soon as it was safe, a Takaran male approached.  "Welcome.  I am Dr. Brenn, leader of the development team.  I spare you all the pleasantries as I'm sure you're eager to get started.  I know I am.  If you'll follow me, I can show you some simulated tests we've run and discuss the field test.  Would any of you like any refreshments?  I can have my assistance Ru'Gal get them."



Dr. Brenn

Brenn motioned for the group to follow into a larger conference room begin a simulated demonstration of the torpedo's capability.  A graphical display shows off the virtual warhead's explosion alongside simulated test data.  "These were originally being designed in case of another Borg incursion, but I'm to understand there is a potential new threat from the Gamma Quadrant.  As you can see, the torpedo technology we've developed far surpasses anything current in the Federation's arsenal, but simulated results don't matter.  Only real ones."

"Pleasure to meet you Dr. Brenn" Thani says pleasantly, but an eager sense of expectation surrounds her.

Thani is impatient to see the displays.

She's reviewing the simulated data carefully and seeing if she has any recommendations to make.

"Thanks Dr. Brenn, I'll take you up on that offer."

Alex will gladly accept any refreshments offered. Then find an out of the way place to observe the group and keep on eye on things.

He'll glance at the monitors to see if anything catches his eye.

When he was reassuring Kate, Nynev's voice had him look up in curiosity. "Ma'am?"

His gaze dropped down to the cylindrical package she held and he hesitated a moment before taking it then he smiled at her. "Thank you ma'am. I was only doing my duty." Being appreciated for his work was something new to him and he welcomed it.

Before he could do more the Captain entered and he clamped his mouth shut and flanked Kate. From this point forwards, he would be her silent shadow.

After the transport he looked around the room they were in and as interesting as it was, he was looking at rest of the team and had to hide a grin at Thani's eager response. Professional, yes he was(maybe).

Kate smiles at Jason but nods. "I'm not afraid of others hurting me Jason." she said hesistantly as she steps onto the transporter pad and joins the others on the surface.

Kate puts on a friendly smile at Dr Brenn her eyes focusing on his body language as she speaks. "A pleasure to meet you Doctor Brenn." Kate says politely her eyes drifting from him to the other staff taking a long moment to observe how their body language is reacting to the federation team's arrival.

Vanna was instantly distracted by the excessive activities in the lab and the excitement of the upcoming test. "Good to meet you Dr Brenn, I look forward to working with you on the test and observing this groundbreaking experiment."

Once they had materialized in the lab, Deckar walked up to Dr. Brenn and greets him in a traditional Tarkan way (Using value "Know the culture, know their tactics"). "Dr. Brenn, I am First Office Commander Deckar Geary.  And on behalf of he Federation and The Starship Mihoshi, we look forward in assisting you in these tests."

Upon entering, Blattlooks around the rooms and watches the virtual rendering of the torpedo test, seeing Thani looking at the data he walks up to next to her, "How does it look comander?" as he reaches for his own Padd to compare notes to the data before him.

  He moved along quietly and studdied the statistics of the torpedo.   "Impressive, doctor."

  Nynev echoed the greetings.  When they reached the layout Nynev slipped to the front and studded the plans intently.  Her lips moved as she plugged in tactical calculations, trying to get a good mental model of the radius and destructive properties of these torpedoes.
