Geary would enter the transporter room to see Dr. Brenn having a heated argument with the transporter chief that almost threatened to spill into violence.  Upon seeing Geary, Brenn whirled on a heel at him, visibly angry.  "Now you look here!" he roared.  "I demand to let me leave this instant!"

In practiced Trakan, with a bit of pent up anger Deckar drilled out, "Shut the fuck up you pompous ass!"  Then in a calmer but determined tone, he continued,  "I would think you would be more concerned as to what happened out there." he said pointing in some random direction, "And on the station. But when we try to find answers you are reluctant, to the point of being belligerent in answering.  Why is that Doctor?" Not really stopping to let the doctor speak, "And you should be grateful to me for saving your life."

Jason hurried through the ship at a pace just over at trot but quite running. Hopefully he could catch the Takaran before he left. What he didn't expect as he entered the transporter room was that Commander Geary was already there and from the look on both their faces, Jason was pretty sure he should have not come in at that time. He had come to a abrupt and total standstill, freezing up and silent. Just from the look on Jason's face, there was no doubt that he did not want to be there right now... at least not till things had calmed down.

In reply to Decker Geary (msg # 2):

Brenn's already large nostrils flared with contempt at the man who had insulted him and he balled his fists, perhaps considering to strike Geary for the slight.  He tensed for a moment, then relaxed as he caught sight of Jason entering, the additional person throwing the odds decidedly against him.  "I have nothing to say to you," he spat.  "Now I demand you allow me to leave this contemptible vessel."

"Fine!  Then listen for once." Geary used a more commanding tone, "We know the cloaked Birds of Prey were here long before we arrived.  We also know they are from the House Duras." Turning to get a better look at the viewing screen on the wall, Geary continued, "You're so smart, doctor, The prototype in the lab exploded and left FOUR dead.  Only FOUR. What are the chances that the only FOUR who died on the entire station were on the development team?"  He then brought up the imaged of the destruction and carnage of the lab, along with the bodies.  "Also we have since learned that YOUR team probably died before the explosion, they certainly did not die from the radiation from the prototype.  In fact we are not sure what they died from." Looking at DR. Brenn directly, "Your team is being targeted.  Who ever stole the prototype from the freighter, blew up the prototype in the lab, killed YOUR team and is probably waiting to kill you and Ra'Ghul so that no one else can develop the Quantum Torpedo, or at least set the program back years so they have the advantage."  Stepping aside, "So be my guest Doctor, and leave the safety of this ship. Beam back down to the station where the one that killed YOUR team is probably still on the station and take your chances there.  Or you can stay here.  But if you stay here I expect your full cooperation and you will be forthcoming with all the pertinent information that you are holding back."

Jason paled at the Commander's words and shifted himself as far away from the two as he could. He was not going to get in between two... he didn't know what to call it at this point.

"S-sir...? Commander?" he finally spoke timidly. "The CSO, Lt. Cmdr sh'Elliaph wants to discuss the scans they did after the accident. Something about what data was supplied wasn't accurate."

Jason's gaze darted towards the Takaran before back to Geary. At this point he wasn't sure he could get Dr. Brenn anywheres near the labs.

"Well, Commander?" Brenn sneered, his tone dripping with contempt.  "Unless you plan on illegally holding me, I will be leaving."

Short of arresting this buffoon, Geary decided to switch tactics to keep him on the ship. "Hold on one moment, Dr. Brenn, before you leave." Turning to Walker, "Are you saying that Dr. Brenn's data was inaccurate than from the readings that were collected.  that he made a mistake some how?

OOC Playing on Dr. Brenn's ego to get him to stay on the ship.

If Jason could get any paler, he would have but he shrugged helplessly. "Alls I know, sir, is that the test data supplied doesn't match what they found in the explosion. And you know how the CSO is, she's pretty eager and happy to talk science with those that know what they are talking about which included Doctor Brenn," He nodded towards the Takaran and a slight smile appear at saying that.

"She invited the Doctor to the Labs to discuss this with some others. There are others that know more than I do sir. Its far above my head and pay grade," he added, trying to be deferential to the both of them.

Breen opened his mouth as if to roar out something, then clamped his mouth shut and glowered at Jason as if he were some annoying bug.  Finally he said, "There is nothing wrong with my data and I am done dealing with you fools.  Let me leave.  Now."

Staring at the Dr. Brenn, "Why?  What is so important that you refuse to look at facts that others show you? Do you care so little for your own life that you would risk leaving the one place where you are safe? Do you care so little for the lives of your team that you will not help those that are investigation their deaths?" Paused for a moment and looked researcher, then in a softer voice, "Who are you trying to protect?"

Jason turned his head and arched a brow up before that droped and he stood at attention. His gaze was rather detatched towards the Takaran. "Sir, I would rethink your words carefully. Andorian's can take offense to far less. I doubt you want me to go back and tell the Chief Science Officer that you said she was a liar when the data they have says you are incorrect. I would suggest you talk to her, see for yourself, sir."

His gaze flickered towards the Commander now then returned to Brenn. "Commander Geary?" He was questioning what to do now because answers were needed and the Takaran was uncooperative. "I can summon a team to escort the Doctor safely to the Labs."

The transporter chief was paying more attention to Jason and Geary's exchange, which was why he didn't noticed Brenn move next to him until he heard the sounds of the control panel being operated.  "Hey!" he exclaimed as the saw the Takaran standing next to him.  "What are you-?"

His question was cut off Brenn's violent shove, which sent the man to the floor.

OOC: Depending on reactions, unarmed melee combat may ensue as Starfleet officers don't normally go walking around armed with phasers unless under yellow/red alert, which you are not. Next post for Geary and Walker should be reactions and intent and we'll go from there.

Jason was waiting for Geary's response and due to the fact he was watching Dr. Brenn at the time, trying to puzzle out what the Takaran was doing, he reacted as soon as Brenn pushed the transporter chief. Of course he burst into action to reach the Doctor before the Takaran could use the controls. With a grace that most didn't see from him, he slipped past Geary to reach the controls.

"Stop and back up from the controls now!" He demanded and followed that up with grab for the Doctor's wrist so he could control the situation.

Seeing the action that the Takaran took, Geary gave the scientist a condecending you're-an-idiot look, "Computer lock transporter controls, Priority One."

Nodding to Ensign Walker, "Dr. Ja'Brenn, I was hoping that you might have cooperated, you were given every oppertunity to do so, but you have left me no chioce. For the safety of this mission and the safety of your life, I am placing you under protective custody."

Turning to Walker, and speaking in a very clear and concise voice, "Ensign Walker, Please escort Dr. Ja'Brenn to his quarters.  Please do a thourough search of his quarters to make sure there are no hidden communication devices, or anything that might allow him to escape this ship.  Then assign a security detail to him.  He is not to leave his room withouth the detail, though he may have visitors, if he so chooses.  If they are not members of the Mihoshi crew, they will need to be searched."

In reply to Jason Walker (msg # 14):

As if expecting the move, Ja'Brenn avoided Jason's attempt at grabbing his wrist, then turned to swing a fist upside the ensign's head.  He was clearly no fighter, however, as the clumsy strike easily missed its mark, but Ja'Brenn seemed more focused on operating the transporter controls until Geary locked them down.  Undeterred, or perhaps considering other options, Ja'Breen moved to leave the transporter room.

In response to Geary's order and Brenn's apparent attempt to escape, Jason reached out for the Doctor and grasp his arm, swept his leg out from under him and brought him down in a controlled manner. Jason then pinned Ja'Brenn's arm behind his back to keep him under control. The Takaran struggled but the Ensign had weight and muscle behind it.

"Security team Bravo, report to the transporter room, armed," Jason ordered, frowning.

"Commander, at this point with his actions we really should be putting him in the brig," Jason said as he glanced up at Geary. "Do you still want him secured in one of the guest quarters?"

He could have stepped in, but Walker handeled the situaion quite professionally and expertly, "Ensign Walker, nice takedown."  Considering his suggestion, "I believe that you assesment is correct.  The Brig will give him the oppertunnity to calm down and reflect utnil he decided to cooperate."

In reply to Decker Geary (msg # 19):

"Get off me, damn you!" Ja'Brenn roared as he seemed to find the strength free of Jason's hold.  Jason had him well secured and to even resist should have caused pain, but Brenn seemed to ignore it as he wrestled to throw Jason off and get to his feet.

Jason tightened his grip on Brenn as the Takaran bucked under him, trying to throw him off. Like a high school wrestling match, Jason tightened his grip and as Brenn strugled he could hear and feel the pop of a joint, Brenn's shoulder dislocated and the man was not stopping for that pain at all. Snarling, "Stay down!" He leaned all of his weight on his forearm and pressed that to the back of Brenn's neck to keep him down. Where they hell where the security team?

"Ensign walker to Lt. Cmd Davis? I need your presence in the Transporter room as soon as possible... like yesterday." Jason growled.

Seeing that Dr.Brenn is breaking free, Geary takes a roundhouse punch to the Takaran's head, "Damn it!  You're not going anywhere!"

Tekar enters the transporter room and glances around. "How may I be of service Commander?" he asks Geary with a hint of confusion at seeing the state Dr Brenn is in.

OOC: With a dislocated arm, Brenn's not going anywhere.  He's just struggling, so make your next move.

With more security coming into the room, Geary steps back, "Lieutenant. Davis, please assist Ensign Walker in taking Dr. Brenn to the brig. Subduing him would be a good course of action."  Tapping on his comm, "Sickbay, this is Commander Geary, we will need a medical team to meet us at the brig to check on a prisoner."

Tekar walked confidently up to the two struggling individuals and reached down his arm passing Jason's shoulder as he does.  With a firm yet confident grasp he places his hand between Brenn's collar bone and shoulder blade and applies the limited telepathy of the Vulcan race to perform the vulcan nerve pinch on the doctor.  "Will there be anything else Commander?" he asks as he watches Dr Brenn's body become imobilized.

Looking at the situation at hand, Geary presses his comm once more, "Correction, The medical team is needed in Transporter Room 1." Then looking at the vulcan, "Thank you Lieutenant."

Jason's team arrives shortly after, each carrying a hand phaser, to see both Jason and Tekar over the now unconscious Brenn.  While Tekar's nerve pinch was ultimately successful, it happened nowhere as quickly as Tekar knew it would have on a human or even Vulcan subject.  Looking between his two Security superiors and the XO, a Bajoran male, Crewman Tavor Jaka, spoke first.  "Are we still needed?"

"Oh, what happened!" Nurse Lockhart exclaimed as she entered with an orderly at the sight.  With Jason all but sitting on Brenn and disheveled himself, it didn't take her long to figure out there had been some sort of altercation, with Brenn on the losing end.  "He needs treatment for that dislocated shoulder," she announced, then looked at Geary.  "Is he to be treated as a prisoner, sir?"

Jason was grateful that Tekar ended the struggle. He honestly wasn't sure how much longer he could have prevented Brenn from escaping. Slowly he got off Brenn, feeling his own muscles protest.

And his team finally arrived and he gave them a look. "Better late than never," he commented. "Yes you are needed. The prisoner needs to be moved to the brig after Medical resets his shoulder."

Jason looked over at Nurse Lockhart with a arched brow. "Just set the shoulder back please."

Rubbing his knuckles to soothe the pain, he looked up at the crowd coming through the door.  Addressing the nurse, "Yes, just as Ensign Walker instructed." Once everything settled down, he walked over to the Transporter Tech, making sure he was ok before leaving. Just before exiting," Good job, Ensign."  He is about to leave again and then stops saying, "Computer, resume normal operations, Priority One." Then he leaves.

Tekar nods to Geary and glances at the nurse. "Will you require me to escort him to medbay or the brig commander or do you think they'll be able to handle it on their own?"

In reply to Tekar Visroy Davis (msg # 32):

With Brenn unconscious, resetting the dislocated shoulder was simple enough for Lockhart.  Not wanting to risk him waking while being carried to MedBay, she requested a site-to-site transport.  While she could put him in restraints on the medical bed.  It was up to Security to provide additional measures.

"I will report this to Dr. Dupont," she said to Geary to follow protocol.  "I assume you will inform the Captain?"

"Thank you nurse. Yes, I will be making a full report to the Captain."  He tried to keep his voice professional with the nescient remark. Turning to the security officer, "Lieutenant, please assign a security detail in Medbay to make sure Dr. Brenn does not try anything stupid, like leave."


As he leaves he says over his shoulder, "If anyone needs me, I'll be in my ready room."

Tekar assigns a security officer to oversee Dr. Brenn, and places him behind a quarantine shield, in medbay.  Hoping to keep him from escaping.

Jason gave Tekar a strange look before shaking his head slightly. He headed back to the Sci Lab to update the others on the current problem.
