STARDATE 48174.30 - Klingon B'Rel

It took Bart a moment to comprehend what he was hearing. Once he understood, he grabbed the med-kit and opened it.  Quickly scanning for the right capsule, he loaded into the hypospray and injected the Andorian with it, "How's that?"

With the additional reference point, you can determine the warhead prototype is located in the aft torpedo bay, one deck up to the rear of the ship.  Main engineering (where life support controls are) is two levels up and to the rear.

"Walker and Davis, we located the warhead. It is in the aft torpedo bay, a level up and to the back from your position. We are heading there now."  looking at Thani, "Ready for this?"

"Ok Chief, let me know if you need help and I'll come up to you. We are heading back to the shuttle if Lt Keyes would be so helpful to come pick us up." Jason was willing to go back in to help Bart no matter how much exposure he had. They were cutting it close now with the pause to triangulate the position.

"Reyes? You and your partner make way towards the upper deck. Sweep main engineering first. Be careful in the aft torpedo room after. You have the ship plans. Make haste." He ordered, taking initiative.

Jason then switched to Bart. "Chief Blatt, it might be idea to get the life support back on first? I am having security sweep ahead of you for any problems in main engineering and the aft torpedo bay."

Thani nods, "Thank you." She closes her eyes and mutters to herself, "Focus on the mission, the mission is the focus. Worry can happen later." Before she opens her eyes, "We need to purge the radiation or else we will have problems."

Pulling up the schematics, "We need to get to engineering to do the radiation purge. Working on the warhead or longer exposure will impede us otherwise."

Nodding in agreement even though Walker could not possible see him, "Before we do anything, we need to contain and purge the radiation.  then I can worry about life support."  He thought for a moment about his words. Sure it was Klingon technology, but science is science, the systems should be that much different.  "you know, depending on how much time the Mihoshi gives us, we could get the power on this here bird..."  He stopped himself before going further, looking at Thani for approval, "First things first, we get the torpedo.  Then we can worry about survivors and life support."

Thani looks at Bart, a smirk, "Yes, I thought about skeleton crew the ship back to DS5 as well. We go to engineering and have life support purge the radiation and prevent further radiation. Secure the warhead and then regroup with Mihoshi. If we happen to return with a Klingon Bird of Prey in the process, bonus. But I don't have a manual on the ship operations..."

OOC: Operating a Klingon B'Rel would be no small feat.  They did it in Trek #4, but they had time to prepare the ship for a skeleton crew, familiarize themselves with the layout, possibly make mods, etc.  You'd have far less time, unless you want to wait to see how the Mihoshi fares.

It's about 50m from the vertical shaft to the aft torpedo bay.  The average walking speed it 1.4m/s, so that's about 35 seconds.   With zero G in play, you could propel yourself faster.

"Scratch that." Jason started heading for the access tube. "Reyes? Bring your partner and check out the aft torpedo bay and secure it. We will head above to engineering. Chiefs Blatt, sh'Elliaph, you can start making your way to engineering. Getting life support on will help reduce the radiation, did I understand correctly?"

Between him and Tekar they were able to get the doors open to the transporter room and then beyond to the access shaft. With the zero g's helping them make the leap up to the level engineering was on. There they would start sweeping the deck to make sure it was safe.

((Pardon the assumptions on what Tekar would do.))

Responding to Walker's assessment of the situation on board the B'rel, Bart replied, "We will be there shortly."  Bart checked his radiation suit was in proper working order prior to putting it one.  Looking over at the Andorian, "Ready when you are, sir."

Thani quickly gets the suit on, "Ready, let's go." Sync a timer, with the estimate of returning to the shuttle by 15 minutes if things cannot be corrected.

Then make their way to the Engineering to engage life support and purge radiation.

And the obligatory "We gonna die" crucial roll; 16:13, Today: Thani sh'Elliaph rolled 30 using 2d20 ((20,10)).

STARDATE 48174.30 - Klingon B'Rel

Jason started seeing things above floating and it didn't take him very long to realize those were bodies floating. "What the...?" He had to push one of the bodies gently away as it got in his way.

"Just a warning, there are bodies here. All appear dead so watch it when you come this way. Chief Blatt, sh'Elliaph, I don't think there is any rescue needed at this point, looks like the radiation might have gotten the crew already." Jason said sadly.

They finally reached the engineering deck and he floated through only to grab the edge of the doorway before he ran into another body. "Jeeze," he muttered and gently pushed it away.

Vanna speaks over the comm. "Think its possible to shut down the shields or whatever system is creating the radiation in conjunction with the torpedo? A second ship might be enough to even the odds for the Mihoshi in this fight." She suggested as she began to power down systems to make her way into the ship as Ensign Walker requested.

Bart was making his way through the hallways slowly.  He was not as proficient in Zero-G as he liked, but he thought he was making good time. "Keyes, a good thought, unfortunately we don't have the crew to fly this thing.  Given a week or two, I might be able to run relays through the bridge to fly it, but I wouldn't trust it in a fight." Looking at his padd to make sure they were on the right path to the engineering room and the torpedo, a though hit him, "Hey Keyes, would the two shuttles have enough thrust to move this bird a few kilometres?"

"Life support, purge radiation, extract warhead, return to Mihoshi." Thani is repeating to herself as she's following Bart through the zero-g environment. Monitoring her own response to the Tachyon Radiation and tracking time. Noting the density of the radiation as well.

In reply to Bartolomy Blatt (msg # 31):

"The Type-9's really aren't meant to be tug-boats, Chief Blatt," Nolan Wescott said as he heard Bart's question.  "We don't have any cabling with the kind of tensile strength to overcome its inertia except at very low impulse.  We could try to push it, but we'd have little directional control."

Jason paused a moment and grabbed the body before it floated away too far. There was something weird about it and for a moment he didn't see it then it hit him.

"Commanders? There's something strange here. The bodies in engineering. They look like they have been dead a while. Like as in dead for weeks, not hours."

Jason was more than confused at that, expecting not to see the decomposition level he was seeing in the body and his voice over the comms was filled with that confusion. He moved to the next one and saw the same thing. Checking a third and forth, they all were.

"Yea, they are all like that as far as I can see. I didn't think the radiation would cause that. Should I be worried?"

Combadge to away team, "Everyone, abort, return to the shuttles immediately!" To Blatt, "We need to return to the Type 9 shuttle and rig up a counter tachyon pulse. Otherwise we're either going to succeed as really old should be retired star fleet officers, or relive our childhoods including puberty, or somewhere in that spectrum."

Perhaps it was whatever had her head buzzing and stomach turning had caused her to misjudge the waveform by the slightest amount. Or perhaps her calculations had been perfect, her implementation had been precise, but some roll of cosmic dice had shifted the micro-singularity just enough.  Whatever it was, it wasn't until it was too late that Thani realized something had gone wrong as, instead of cancelling out each other, the tachyon fields had resonated with each other.  For a brief instant, everyone aboard the shuttle felt as if they were dissolving...
