Jason learned long ago how to take a fall so when he felt and heard that hiss, like a cat he twisted and landed on his back. His leg shifted out and then he rolled as he kicked at the creature, using his momentum from the kick to get back to his feet as he spun. It almost appeared like a dance move, the way he executed it. Either way he surprised the creature and landed a blow, giving himself room.

"Don't let it get away," he shouted. "Take it down before it gets back to its hive Davis!" Otherwise they were going to be knee deep in these things.

In reply to Your Loving GM (msg # 1):

Shortly after Jason yelled, the creature attacking him light up with a red aura as a phaser burst hit it.  It had come courtesy of Nynev, who had clearly set her phaser to kill, but as soon as the phaser stopped, the aura faded.

"So much for phaser fire!" Nynev said as it turned and shrieked at her, then took a few steps to her before stopping.  Pausing.  As if sniffing the air around it, then turning back to face Jason. "I think it likes you!"

Meanwhile, the once facing Tekar circled around him, looking for an opening to strike...

"the creature is hunting us becasue of our exposure to the Tachyon radiation," Tekar offered no other explaination as he made to put some distance between himself and the beast.

In reply to Nynev zh'Idrani (msg # 2):

Jason, while the creature was snarling at Nynev, turned and snatched up a spanner then proceeded to apply it forcefully to the weird insect-like creature that decided he was tastier than Nynev apparently.

"Me? But I don't like it!" Pound, pound, pound!

In reply to Jason Walker (msg # 4):

Jason's struck the creature unaware and down it went.  It screamed in pain and seemed ready to  try to disappear, but his repeated blows brought its struggles to a stop.

Meanwhile, the creature facing Tekar leapt at him, but this time Tekar seemed prepared and was able to dodge its attack.

Tekar smirks slightly feeling a rush of his emotions as he makes another lunge at the creature striking at its eyes again trying to thrust his fingers deep into them and hurt it enough to make it either die or run away. He felt the carapace give way slightly under his thumbs as they delved into its skull.  Feeling the translucent gel-like blood pour from its head as the digits put pressure on the brain displacing the eyes out of the body and causing internal hemorrhaging.

"Command I have a mostly intact specimen here in the cargo bay, if you wish to have science department perform an autopsy or any other examinations for cataloging and identification for starfleet records." Tekar said as she did his best to wipe the translucent blood off his hands.

"Good job, both of you," Nynev said as she approached and eyed one of the creatures.  "Nasty looking thing.  Let's hope we don't get more."  She tapped her comm.  "zh'Idrani to Bridge.  Both have been creatures have been dealt with.  As per Mr. Tekar's suggestion, please advise."

In reply to Nynev zh'Idrani (msg # 7):

Geary responds to the request, "Lt, zh'Idrani, get them in containment fields, hopefully they wont dissappear on us. Send one to Bioscience and one to medical."

Jason looked at the spanner, looked at the creature he had beaten and then grimaced as he set the spanner back down. "Ma'am I am going to get a sword and carry that around with me for now. I think it would be prudent to arm the Security compliment till this situation is resolved. Mix of melee and phasers. There's no telling if any more of these things have slipped on board."

Thanks to the particle dispersal, no more creatures appear.  The two that were killed rapidly begin degrading, but Biosciences are able to collect a few scans.  The creatures were drawn to things "rich" in tachyon/chroniton exposure, such as the two security members in the Shuttle Bay, presumably as some sort of food.
