STARDATE 48253.76 - USS Mihoshi Conference Room

H'Raal was one of the first ones into the conference room; he'd brought his PADD with him to start evaluating the capabilities of the various crew members onboard the Mihoshi.  There were casualties, a damaged warp core, and the impulse engines were off-line.  They needed a few medical personnel, warp core specialists, and someone who could handle getting the impulse drives back online.

Hopefully, the rest of the people who were attending this meeting would arrive shortly.

Though she wasn't sure what all was going on that SCIENCE(tm) could assist with, Thani arrived promptly ready to lend her knowledge and skills. "Greetings," with a nod as she finds a seat. She leaves a spot open on either side of her out of habit but then realizes that the person she hopes to show up cannot...

"Dr. Dupont.  Lt. Cmdr. sh'Elliaph."  H'Raal greeted them both when they spoke.  "We just need a few more people here, and then I believe we can get started.  We have a few hours, but time is of the essence - the less time we need here, the more time we will have to prepare and be ready to go when we arrive at the site of the Sirius."

Bart came rushing in, "Sorry to be late, sir, was getting engineering ready to work on an Oberth Class vessel."  He found a nearby seat and sat down.

Tekar listens in silence for the first few minutes. "I know what Engineering, and science will be doing, what about Operations and Security?  We'll be less important to the rescue and repairs of the Sirius. Afterall."

Thani's antennae point in Tekar's direction. "I am not sure what science will be doing to aid in the effort. But we are available to assist in whatever capacity we can serve."

OOC: Science solves problems, but engineering typically implements the solution. So far, unless told otherwise, we have engineering and medical needed.

STARDATE 48253.76 - USS Mihoshi Conference Room

In reply to Bartolomy Blatt (msg # 6):

With Blatt now present, H'Raal began the meeting.  "Commander Geary is holding down the bridge, so I'll update the Commander when we're done here.  Thank you all for coming.  As you're aware, we are responding to the emergency call of the USS Sirius, an Oberth-class science vessel that was surveying the Oricon Nebula nearby.  They have suffered damage to multiple systems, as well as casualties aboard."

The Caitian continued. "Our goal is to bring the Sirius' systems back online, and to see that she heads for friendlier shores.  To that end, we need to assess the capabilities of each department so that when we arrive at the Sirius, we don't have to hesitate for a moment."

He turned first to Bart. "Lt. Blatt.  The primary task will belong to Engineering, which it will divide with Operations, if necessary.  We know from Captain Konank's report that the warp core is damaged, the impulse engines are offline, and that the ship's plasma intakes are clogged.  The primary task will be to repair the damaged warp core, or barring that, ensure that it cannot breach.  After that, the Sirius' impulse drives will need to be brought back online.  Finally, we will need to address the hull breaches onboard."

Next was Medical. "Dr. Dupont.  Konank reported multiple casualties onboard.  An Oberth's standard crew complement is eighty, we should assume at least twenty-five percent casualties, perhaps higher.  Tap any triage and field medicine specialists you might have; we can't assume the Sirius' sickbay is in any condition to treat the wounded.  Primary goal for Medical is to get anyone who can back to stations, and stabilize anyone who can't.  I'll defer to your expertise, as well as that of the Sirius' surgeon, on the matter."

Following both of them was Science. "Lt. Cmdr. sh'Elliaph.  Science will have to split its focus.  Konank reported that an away team was investigating a gravimetric anomaly when the catastrophic event happened.  Contact with the away team was lost during that event.  Mr. Davis?"  He called the half-Vulcan security officer.  "That's where you come in.  Coordinate with Science, find that away team.  They're cut off and may be in grave danger." He went back to Thani. "Thani, see if you have any gravimetric specialists onboard; the anomaly itself may be responsible for your second task - we need to know what caused the swell of disodium and ethyl-chlorate that caused the event aboard the Sirius.  Most importantly, we need to have a way to detect if it's going to happen again - the Federation already has one ship caught in this trap, we're not going to be the second.  Finally, if time permits, gather whatever information you can on the anomaly."

Then Security. "Mr. Davis.  Update Lt. Cmdr. zh'Idrani when we're done here.  Your goals are also two-fold; assist Science in finding the away team, and be ready to assist any rescue attempts that may need to be made.  The Sirius does not sound like she's in any condition to launch a rescue operation.  If Security has any hostile environment specialists, or persons well-familiarized with either the tractor beam or shuttlecraft, make sure they're informed and ready to go at a moment's notice."

Finished, he opened the floor to questions.  "Does anyone have any remarks they'd like to make at this time?"

Furisously taking notes on his padd, Bart replied, "Aye Commander.  I had not heard about the damage to the warp systems nor the impulse drive.  We will have to do a thourough diagnostic to make sure the dilithium crystal was not damaged.  But we have one to spare aboard the ship if it was.

Without hesitation. "I'll lead the medical response unless it's deemed too dangerous for us to beam over. We'll get the medbay set up for the worst injuries."

OOC: There are discrepancies in how the show deployed medical personnel. Sometimes they respond, other times they have the injured beamed to med bay. One of the first rules of first responders is don't become a victim, so sending your top-trained medical specialist into a dangerous situation seems risky. However, because of T.V. they liked placing their doctors in risky situations all the time. *Shrug* Whatever you all want. Alex will go over unless told otherwise.

Thani is already beginning to equate and calculate what she knows, what she'll ask Taylor to handle, and what research will be needed. Clearly, something unexpected happened and they needed to figure out what that 'event' was and if the event will occur again, and how to prevent them from becoming victim to it. On top of that, there was the away team to help.

"Science is ready sir," Thani answered confidently.

In reply to Decker Geary (msg # 13):

Bart had transitioned from engineering to the shuttle bay to organize his team and to make sure they had what they needed. He looked and saw his team.  He would defiantly need help from the engineering staff of the other vessel if there were any left.

"Engineering to Bridge, do we know if they have any engineers on board the Sirius and what rank?  I need to know if we are assisting them in the repairs or are we responsible for the repairs?"

"ENGINEERING!  Listen up! At this point in time we are not sure what the priorities are or who will be directing the repairs of the Sirius.  Until we know, we will be doing the repairs.
Lt. Tzerak and Ens Laurent, you will be checking the power systems.  Lt Rr'zah, take crewman Rosebrooke to assess the engines.  So lets double check our gear to make sure we have what we need."

Hearing her assignment made Jessica nervous. She knew she could handle it, but this was her first real chance to do anything since 'the incident.' "Aye sir," was her only verbal response, and she began to do as she was told - double check gear.
