Engineering in the Mihoshi

Knowing it was the end of his duty shift, he headed towards Engineering and entered. Jason moved towards the station where he knew Cat would be and gave a nod to some of the people as he walked by.

"Cat when is the last time you ate?" A good natured smile was on his face as he approached his friend. He knew she focused on the ship so much that sometimes she let time slip away.

In reply to Jason Walker (msg # 2):

Catrina at looked up from the power conduit she had been tuning at Jason, pausing a moment while her implant reconciled the voice and face of the security guard.  While she was grateful the neurological damage hadn't been worse, it was still annoying to have to wait that moment before recognizing a face.  "Oh, umm... Hi, Jason.  Actually I'm having dinner with the Sewards first.  We have common family and I wanted to catch up with them."

She looked over to where Bartolmy and Naoko were finishing up.  "Hey, Bart!" she called out to tease the man who had become a friend to nearly everyone in Engineering.  "Jason needs a dinner date."

"Does he now?" the large dark-skinned man called back, then walked over to shake Jason's hand.  Even when on duty, they were not ones to stand on ranks.  "'Sup, Jason?"

Jason nodded and was about to say something when she called out to the others. He looked over his shoulder then whipped his head back around to Cat and rolled his eyes. "Really? A dinner date?" His voice had pitched a bit higher at that before settling.

He turned and reached out to shake Bart's hand, answering. "Nothin'. Just hit off duty and you know how our resident wondergirl tends t'forget where she is and if'n she's eaten yet. At least its not /my/ duty tonight," he drawled with a grin directed at Cat.

"Suppose I will have to eat alone," he said with mock sadness and wiped an eye. That changed after a moment and he chuckled.

In reply to Jason Walker (msg # 4):

"We keep telling you to quit Security and come to Engineering," Naoko piped up as she joined the others.  She looked at Jason and made a haunting voice as she waved her hands, "Come to the Dark Side, Jason.  We have cookies."

"I doubt he even knows what that's from," Bart chuckled.  "Hell we had to show Cat that."

"Oh, sure, pick on the woman with the memory problems," Cat shot back, then looked at Jason. "Take these two and get them out of my hair.  I've got an alarm set to remind me when I need to leave."

A brow quirked at Naoko. "Right, ya'll thinkin' engies have the geek cornered. But," he poked Bart lightly in the chest. "You ain't my father," he said and smirked. "I'll have you know that 'tween me an my brothers and sisters we've seen more than ya'll think we have."

He gave Cat another grin then gave her a exaggerated salute as he snapped to attention. "Yes'sum!" And held it single moment before relaxing. "And we wouldn't pick if'n you didn't make it fun Cat." He sent her a wink.

"Well bosslady says you get to leave. Best not look that gift horse in the mount," he told Naoko and Bart after turning to them.

In response to Cat's mentioning of setting an alarm. "Well lets hope that alarm goes off, otherwise the Stewards will be worried and then that will interrupt my beauty sleep."

"Just go," Catrina groaned, mostly joking but really wanting to finish before the alarm rang.  The needs of the ship always came first and she didn't want to be late because of it.

"C'mon, Jason," Bart said, putting an arm over the man's shoulder and pulling him slightly. "Chief Grumpy needs her space."

Jason snorted at Bart and gave him a light elbow. "Careful, you have to work for her. I can run away."

He grinned and waved to Cat. "Just don't make them come looking for you Cat."

He nodded towards the door and motioned for Naoko to go first. "Ladies first," he said with a pause then shot a grin at Bart. "Old men last!" And followed closely behind Naoko out of the door into the corridor.

Jessica had just been finishing her diagnostics on some of the more sensitive systems when she notices a buried alert come up in one of the engineering systems normally not used. Though, given the unique design of the ship, she almost instantly understands what the alert was connected with.

Quickly, the engineer tapped her comm badge "Laurent to Matheson" Her voice rang out and through the Jeffry tube she was currently in. It didn't take more than a few seconds before the lack of reply was apparent, "Laurent to Teala".

Again, silence in reply.

"Computer, Locate Teala" The computer chirped back to inform her the Medbay, and just like that she quickly made way.
