Kate's voice came over the communicator with a hint of panic in it despite trying to stay calm. "Medbay, this if Katherine Seward, emergency Medical transport for Catrina Matheson from Diplomatic quarters, she let out a scream of pain and then collapsed and is unresponsive after dinner. Two to beam over."

The USS Mihoshi: MedBay

Dr. Dupont was beamed into the medbay wearing a full blown Greek Toga, a rather nice Medical Blue in color, though probably not exactly Starfleet reg.

Seeing the fact he had two personnel in serious condition, "Computer alert medical staff to come immediately to Medbay, we currently have two patients down. Enact Quarantine protocol. Begin scan of vitals." And since this involved senior personnel - Chief Engineer and a senior member of the command staff, "Computer Direct Communication to Captain Greene ~~Captain, Chief Engineer Matheson and Lt. Cmdr Teala are in serious condition in the Medbay.~~"

As he assessed both quickly for the most life threatening conditions (Triage) and then preparing proper treatment. Teala was having a full grand mal seizure, so an anti-convulsion treatment was the first thing to give. While doing that he asked Katherine, "You said this happened during dinner, did she eat anything usual, did she do anything before the scream and collapse?"

While he was moving rather fast, his voice was measured and calm. Very methodical and orderly as he managed his precious time efficiently in treating the patients while waiting the arrival of help, "Kat, do you know how to use a medical tricorder?"

"Just after dinner, she ate some homemade mac and cheese, made from replicated ingredients.  We were discussing a personal matter, and I'd just given her a pedicure.  It came on suddenly with no outward signs that anything was wrong, one section she was talking the next she was screaming." Kate explained.

"I know what they taught at the academy, but I'm hardly a specialist when it comes to medical procedures.  I'm usually the one on the Operating table, not the other way around" she says the last part nerviously.

In reply to Alex Dupont (msg # 3):

"I'm not far behind them, Doctor," Farah replied somewhere between distress and anger.  Her head hurt so badly she could barely see straight and the thought of standing made her want to vomit dinner.  "I've got the mother of all migraines.  If only Catrina and Teala are affected, our implants may be the common factor but verify it's not communicable.  Check on Lt. Cmdr Laurent, she may need medical attention as well.  I'll try to get there under my own power, but my room's spinning pretty badly."

Handing a medical tricorder to Kat with a reassuring smile, "Simple, just start scanning Teala at the head. I'll handle the rest." As he sets the computer to run quick scan for any contagious diseases. Seizures were induced by something overloading the brain causing the synapses to fire erratically. With Catrina screaming out, it could indicate another brain symptom. Seizures did have different manifestations. He'd quickly rule-out the contagious diseases and then proceed to brain issues.

#5:
The captain confirmed a suspicion for him. This was brain-related. "Acknowledged Captain."

The calm and almost expected reply from Medical officer Dupont almost put Jessica in a sense of ease, thankfully the Engineer was able to reason everything WAS NOT ok.

"I am fine," Her voice came in hastily, trying to rush through the question of her state and into her own question, "I can't reach Teala and the computer reports her in Medbay." The unasked question hung in the air. It made sense to Officer Laurent that she couldn't reach Cat given all the hints of how integrated with the ship she was but with nothing confirmed the young engineer had only speculations and theories.

This wasn't looking good, Alex knew the captain had a fair bit of knowledge on what he was seeing and perhaps it might help them both. Comlink to Captain, "Captain, there is some foreign microcode causing a misfiring in Teala's neural interface module."

Well, that was a relief, one less concern, "Hi Jessica, I'm sorry but Teala is currently unable to respond. I can have her reach out to you after she recovers." He had a duty to protect patient privacy, but didn't want to discourage the engineer.

Shortly before reaching the door, "Computer, located Lieutenant Matheson". The computer chirp would inform her in Medbay, warranting another tap to the ComBadge to continue with Alex.

"And Lieutenant Matheson? who is also in Medbay.".

Just as she finished, she would reach the door and find it chirped back with an alert that Medbay was in quarantine. "Whats going on?" would continue through the Combadge as Panic quickly edged its way into her voice.

The engineer's first reaction was to look for the nearest engineering panel. Hesitancy showed in her face, her gaze settled on the access terminal next to the door.

"Computer, generate an observation work ticket on security alerts for the engineering staff. Notate caution and look but don't touch special instructions, priority reporting on any changes, and include directions to Security alerts that started within the last 20 minutes." She wouldn't give direct commands to the security staff without confirming the status of Officer Matheson, even if the computer was telling her that LT Commander Matheson is currently in Quarantine.

Alex wasted no time, "Computer, medical emergency. Beam Captain Farah Greene to the Medbay bed." Waited the second for the computer to acknowledge and then, "Computer broad communication to Commander Malko, Lt. Cmdr Decker, Lt. Cmdr Idrani, Specialist Walker ~~Commander Malko, and all, Dr. Dupont in Medbay. Captain Greene, Chief Engineer Matheson and Lt. Cmdr Teala have collapsed. Neural links appear to be the common thread. Only crewman Lt. Cmdr. Laurent is unaffected.~~" He trusted the commander and security to do what they do best while he turned his attention to the now disabled Captain. It appeared she had been attempting to get dressed before she went down, she's wearing a casual shirt, panties, but didn't quite get the pants on. Alex was quick to get her covered and scan the head around the implant.

#12:
Encouraging smile directed at Kat, "You're doing great Kat" Noticing no pathogens in Catrina or Teala's scans "Computer deactivate quarantine protocol." Mulling over the word spoken by the captain, "Computer is there any protocol or command for Honeypot?"

#13:
Alex is hearing the panic creep into Jessica's voice, "I'm sorry Jessica, same condition. Do you know who the engineering Hardware Software specialist is?" Alex needed answers quickly and hoped it would calm to engineer down by being useful with an answer.

Jason had just gotten cleaned up and part way dressed when the communication came. He froze then pulled his shirt on and stomped in to his shoes. "Acknowledged, Doctor." He confirmed before heading to the Armory, pulling the equipment out he would need from one of the lockers.

"Computer: Inform Lt Commander Idrani that I am on my way to the MedBay." He snatched up a data pad on the way out, phaser at his side. He had no way of knowing what was going on and was prepared for the worst and hoping for the best. He was about to find out as he strode down the hall at a clipped pace to the MedBay and if Jessica was still standing there by the door he would breeze on by her abruptly and enter.

"Update Doctor?" Jason glanced around briefly, taking in everything before returning his attention to the good Doctor and making sure he was not standing in the way of the personnel.

Jessica stood looking down the hall as she heard the announcement, her mouth gaped slightly at the mention of the neural implement. Almost in a daze, she stood there until the door chirped to signal it was no longer locked.

No sooner then that, she'd step to and through as it opened.
Officer Dupont's question and the computers description, she would have turned and spoke but saw that the MedBay officer had more to say and so waited for his question. A quick glance to the unconscious Catrina reminded Jess she was currently in charge of engineering.

Tapping her ComBadge she called out "Kusaragi, report to MedBay. Tzerak and Rr'zah, if you aren't already in engineering then report there."

Now looking back to Lt. commander Dupont, "Naoko Kusaragi is our hardware specialist. I'd like to run some scans on Catrina. Do we know what's happening in their heads?"

As the other medical staff come in. "Initiate Cyro-stasis for Teala stat." Making sure the staff acknowledge the order he moves to Captain Greene.

#18:
Alex looks at Kat, "Get sh'Elliaph, she can help." As one of the medical technicians will offer to take over monitoring from Katherine.

Alex looks at the introverted engineer Jessica, nods and points to the recent medical scan including the foreign code. "That's what I have so far. Maybe you can make heads or tails of it." As the hypospray medication pushed back the darkness, Farah let out a dull groan, the kind usually reserved for waking when one really didn't want to.  Then it all snapped into place.  She was in Medbay by the sounds of medical beds and scanners, just as she could tell she had been unsuccessful in putting on her pants before blacking out, thought, thankfully, someone had covered her.  Opening her eyes, she saw Alex Dupont looking at her. "Doctor," she growled, none to happy to be in her situation.  "Status report."

Jessica hadn't told Naoko why she was needed in MedBay or why others so recently off-duty were being sent to Engineering.  Neither had Naoko asked.  It was enough that a lawful order had been given and she would obey, even if it meant being out of uniform.  Normally that simply wasn't done, but something in Jessica's tone told Naoko time was of the essence.  Wrapping a yukata around her, she hurried from her quarters to Medbay, but was surprised to see so many already there.  "Lt. Cmdr Laurent, ma'am?" she said to Jessica. "You wanted me here?"

Surprised turned to astonishment as she saw three of the senior officers on Medical Beds, the Orion Naoko remembered as Teala being put into stasis. "Ittai nani ga okotte iru no?"

The specialist started taping at his pad. He nodded to the Doctor, frowning at the mention of critical and the fact the good Doc was putting Teala into stasis. "Where were Lt. Cmdrs Teala, Matheson and Captain Greene when this happened?" He paused a moment and looked up. "They all have neural interfaces?" Jason looked between they three women, eyes lingering on Cat a moment. Of the three, she was the only one he knew about.

Then he turned to look at the last one mentioned. "Lt. Commander Laurent, were you still in the lounge when this happened?" It paid to be observant at least, and the woman was a mass of nerves at the best.

After Alex hypo'd the Captain, the groan had him glancing over to the Captain a moment, finger still on the pad before glanced at the Doctor sideways. Nope, let the Doc take care of her. He turned at the door opening to see Naoko enter and he frozen briefly, eyes dipping to take in what she wore then returning to his pad. "Might'n want to speak English there Lt. Don't think the translators picked that one up," he said, accented drawl a bit thicker. "I believe they need your expertise."

In reply to Katherine Seward (msg # 21):

Thani was lounging on her bed in a silken light blue two-piece pajamas. She had been reading up on the latest photon torpedo theories in preparation for tomorrow's refinement when the voice of Katherine Seward came in. Frowning slightly at the interruption, she answered with slight concern, "Acknowledged. Is everything all right? Did one of my officers get injured?" With that thought, and the fact it was odd to be summoned off-hours, she rushed to the Medbay just around the corner.

She was shocked to see quite the gathering in the room. It was crowded. It appeared every department had thrown a party in the MedBay. Concern crosses her face as she notices the doctor, who she had cross-trained earlier on shift with, wearing a medical blue toga, treating three senior officers on the Medbay beds, one of which is a now awake captain under a sheet.

Sharing a concerned glance at Naoko, Jason and Jessica by the door, "Can someone explain what's going on? More importantly how can I help?"

Jessica made a quick glance at the display console that Medical officer Dupont indicated, she had a good idea already of what was going on and really only needed to confirm it. the Neural display showing their brain activity presents a more crisp and clear image of the situation, seeing it left a proverbial lump in the engineer's throat.

Jessica ended her step at Catrina's bed where she drew her engineer's tricorder and quickly shifted it over the visible neural implant.

"Dr Dupont, is there any preparations we should make in case we need to temporarily turn off the implant? Is there anything we can do to isolate or better protect the brain? So far it seems there is a feedback, a security protocol lashing out wildly," Glancing to the now coming to commander," I'd like to have the two I called to engineering see what they can do without making the situation worse... I understand we are in Yellow Alert."
Whenever her jaw rested, it would tightly clench.

"if we can create a field to block out outside signals then the code can probably be swept out and the situation will be stable from there, just an early idea. At this point, Lieutenant Naoko is more knowledgeable of the ship and its hardware, as well as of Catrina, and will likely know more."

All the while talking, she was running the Tricorder and sweeping through the information presented.

Making a point to try and show Jason she was talking to him by looking his way, "I was not, I went back to learning the ship's systems and was just finishing when this started. Just down the hall from here."

As Naoko arrived, announced by the door, Jessica would quickly take ahold of her engineer pack with a hyper spanner and a few other tools, and move to the lieutenant ready to hand the tool pouch over. "You can use the tools I have, there are current readings in the Engineers Tricorder and a display of neural activity near the bed." Her words were fluid but quickly spoken, like she had practiced it in her head several times while waiting. It was after she finished speaking that a quick glance showed her the state of dress Naoko was in, a quick glance down at the kimono. "I apologize."

Jess made sure she wasn't in Naoko's way, moving over to the Neural display.

When Jessica was at a pausing point, he stepped up to her, behind her left shoulder.  "Ms. Laurent.  I don't know if this is relevant, but Aurin is quite convinced this is the case.  It seems that sometime in the past year, Ms. Matheson might have come to be hosting an additional identity."

Not only were the three patients here but now there was two engineers, the second in command, family of one of the patients and yet another whom he wasn't sure needed to actually be here. This wasn't including the pertinent medical staff needed and him.

He couldn't tell who should be here and who shouldn't be here now. "Who do you need here Doctor?" With a quick press, he shunted off what little info he had been given to the Lt. and stepped back out of the way of the controlled chaos.

He gave a sharp look to the man, Aurin, who was second in command behind the Captain when he spoke and once again was jotting down notes. "Specialist Walker to Lt. Idrani. I do not believe much will be found at any of the three locations," he notified his commander.

Despite the medication Alex had given her, Farah's mind buzzed as if a thousand bees had made her head their hive.  There were multiple voices, but she could only attenuate to Alex's, the one closest to her, and what he said sent a chill down her spine.  At first she didn't believe him, it was impossible, but she knew Alex wasn't one to exaggerate.  An internal debate flickered in eyes that still couldn't quite focus before she said, "There's something you need to know..."

Farah didn't get a chance to finish the statement, however.  Naoko had been looking at the scans of Cat that Jessica had given her, first with confusion, then curiosity that bypassed concern and leapt straight to panic. "Sonna... Shut her implant down!" she cried, moving to Cat and just stopping herself from pulling the device off of the unconscious woman's skull.  "Now!"

Before they could take  more than a few steps, the lights flickered.  Malko growled.  He caught Katherine's bicep and gently—but firmly—drew her out the door if it would respond, and then to the side of the door.  IF that failed, into an unused corner.  He hit his com badge fast, “Bridge, report!”

His first words after the report would be to apologies to Katherine for the handling, but the report came first.

Too much stimuli at once, everyone is talking, the room is crowded. She almost wonders if she fell asleep and this is a nightmare. It felt like the last disaster that she blamed herself for, the one where she could not solve the problem fast enough and all those people died.

She looks at Naoko with obvious confusion and disbelief, "Why? Can you tell us what's going on?"

The news alarmed him about the warp systems fluctuation, he did not know much about engineering, but he knew a breakdown in the warp field was considered not a good thing to happen, especially when traveling at warp speeds, "Commander Geary to Engineering, we are reading fluctuations in the warp systems and issues in the power grid, This needs to be a priority investigation."

The hairs on the back of the curly haired man stood straight. This was one of those odd things he had warned others about.

Responding to the Commnader's request, "Commander Malko, sir, we are seeing fluctuations in the warp systems, I have given the orders to drop us out of warp. I have also sent word to Engineering to investigate the warp and power systems, Sir."

Jess tapped her ComBadge, "Lieutenant Blatt report to the Warp core, coordinate with main engineering." A lot was going on, however she caught the hurried commands about an Isolation field and shutting down systems quickly spur around the room and made an attempt to step away from the bed to not get cut off from the rest of the ship's systems. Having both head of engineering out of commission would leave most the ship at the mercy of none engineers having to take command of the station and that wouldn't help the situation.

It was not ideal at all to have the Neural systems being shut down but she wasn't going to question commands orders. She would look for a terminal, if possible, speaking while moving away from the table "Naoko, will shutting down or isolating Catrina's implant harm her or the warp core in any way?" it was a little late to ask, it was all happening, but if she could get to a terminal and if the engineering staff was at the station then perhaps it could all be managed.

Tapping the ComBadg while facing Aurin, addressing both the standing commander and bridget. "Bridge, this is standing Chief of engineering, it is likely the Warp Core issue comes from MedBay. I have sent instructions for a warp core specialist to check out the core", Double tapping her badge to cut comms to bridge, but still clearly addressing Aurin, " Matheson has stated shes given the warp core a piece of her mind and it seemed to be meant to be as real as it was meant to be funny, if I can run diagnostics on the system from here then I think I should do that."

Jessica could see a lot of flashes of conversation, people asking questions across each other, a few voices were being raised, it was getting out of hand pretty quickly and the red alert would only add to the stress. "LIEUTENANT!" cut through the room, spoken just over the pitch of the other voices which had been escalating to be heard. Jessica spoke it in a sharp and explicit pitch both to cut through the rest of the noise and hopefully to silence it. Immediately, her face would go deep red in embarrassment, her eyes dare not look around the room.

" We dont have time for Guilt, shame, or panic. Save that for after," she was pointedly looking towards the engineer. "We need to counter the Virus, Cat's fine now, Unless command has other orders for you. Follow me or get to where you need so to either shut this program down or make something to neutralize it. NOW." Her voice almost started to shrink a little near the end but her now was reinforced and bolster to be just as sharp and firm as when she spoke to cut through the noise earlier.

Then, with a quick turn to face the door, unless either Aurin or Farah spoke or unless security moved to arrest her. Jessica began moving to the door while tapping her ComBadge "Bridge, this is Active Chief Engineer Laurent, the situation in medbay is currently stable. Heading to Engineering as ordered."

Hot sweats quickly flushed her face, and she may have tapped the doors control panel a few times in an attempt to get out of the room as quickly as she possibly could. Her own panic and now her embarrassment evident. Yet, onward she moved.

As soon as she was in the hall, she'd tap her ComBadge again "Engineering, This is Laurent, manually disable the neural system in the warp core room. I'm on my way. Give me a brief status."

Indifferent to her appearance, Farah moved to just outside the isolation field that contained Alex and Catrina.  As bad as as her head felt, her stomach felt worse, a twisting sensation that no painkiller would soothe.  Passing by Teala had been bad enough as she had only realized the friendship she felt to the Orion, but Cat was all but family.  They had been through so much together and now Cat was laying on a bed with someone ready to operate on her.  Again.

"Her implant serves as both a neural link and to compensate for the damage to her temporal lobe and while she's capable of manipulating the Mihoshi's systems, she's not integrated into it.  Shutting down one will not affect the other," she said to Alex.  "If it were working normally, I'd say there would be a way to disable the link without risking what she's been able to reconstruct of her lost memories."  That had her glancing at Kate.  "Unfortunately, I'm not an expert on what the virus has done, whether it's jumped between the two.  You can try, but I can't say how it might affect her behavior, if at all."

Jessica hadnt waited to see what Naoko did, she was out the door and down the hall by the time the other engineer was stopped. She didnt immediately respond to Thani, her mind reeling from the situation, but the question floated in her mind until they got to the lift. As they stepped in, it was here Jess noticed an absence of Naoko, shed pause long enough to make sure she checked the hall and room for the other engineer before pushing the button to move to the level with the warp core. Main priority was stabilizing that.

Finally, as the lift begins moving, she turns to Thani "If we can find some way to manually slow the Warp core without compromising it then we may need to do that to stall our situation while we tackle this program. Yet, all I've got swimming in my head are stall tactics for the program, I have an image of the system we can use to reset from... ensuring no latent remains of the code are embedded but that will require a full shut down of the ship and time to restore everything system by system. If we can get behind the program some other way, it would be more ideal but time is not on our side right now." It was almost liberating for the engineer to actually speak her thoughts, everything was short and critical in Medbay, racing against time to prevent deaths and figure out exactly what was going on... this moment was almost a lull, they at least had the moment, and speaking almost gave the petite young officer a woosh of tingles and release as the tension flowed from her body into her words.

She's been a step behind this whole time, even behind her engineering team, and it compounded her emotions. It was so bad she was actually sweating, had she been tensing up the whole time? finally relaxing a little, she could actually feel it through her body.

Making a point to take in a deep breath, controlling the release in a slow exhale. If the science officer began to speak, Jessica would look over and listen to what was said.

If we can get ahead and put a buffer  to prevent the code from progressing, that would work. Figure out the critical systems and put them in isolated sections of code that is apart from the main system." The wheels in her head turning. "The critical system in the warp core. Disconnect that from the main computer and just use the local controls. But we would have to shut it down, wipe the entire thing and then bring it up. Otherwise you risk reinfection."

Though she had yet to meet any of then, Nynev could see the engineering crew either hovering over stations or flitting between them like flies.  The most prominent of the group were a dark-skinned human male, a beige Catian female and a violet male Saurian moving in an odd synchronized dance.  The human caught sight of Nynev standing there and waved for her to approach.

"You here to help?" he said as he returned to his station.  "Hope so, but even if you aren't, you will be.  Name's Lt. Bartolomy Blatt, but just call be Bart"  He pointed and another monitor.  "Know how to work a polarity bias?  No?  It's easy.  Adjust the controls up or down to keep the meter in spec."

Malko's command overriding Jessica's, Naoko stopped and turned to face him.  She didn't much feel like sitting.  She didn't want to explain the problem.  She wanted to go fix it, but an order had been given and she had to do her duty.

Taking a seat, she tried to collect her thoughts, an effort complicated by the bizarre events around her.  To her shock, she watched Cat awaken and kiss the Doctor, only to be distracted by the singing some old Earth lullaby from the woman who had been questioning Naoko earlier.  If that wasn't enough, her Captain was standing nearby in her panties, though a nurse and security guard seemed determined to change that.  It all bordered on the surreal, but that didn't stop her from answering Malko's question.

"It perceived the Captain and the others as threats as I hadn't programmed in the authentication method."  She thought for a moment, theorizing.  "If my code came into contact with the neural interface mechanisms, which did have authentication, it didn't have its own to check against so it automatically failed.  I wasn't worried about it because I thought I had the proper containment protocols for me to test the countermeasure algorithms.  So, no, sir.  I can't correct what doesn't exist.  We need to shut down and remove all traces of the viruses."

Only briefly deterred, Cat had begun to move again towards Alex when the song stopped her in her tracks.  To her frustration, she couldn't understand the words, but the song...  The song reached deep into her and it had meaning.  Cat didn't know how or when, but she turned to see a red-headed woman she didn't recognize and that made Cat's heart hurt because she should.  Cat moved to the singing woman, then hit the isolation field and could go no further.

Despite the chaos around, the insistence by two that she put something on her legs had Farah reaching for the pants Jason was handing her and pulled them up, her eyes not leaving her friend.  She watched in fascination as Kate's singing drew in Cat as surely as the mermaids of old did sailors, only without the "to their doom" part.  Still, the behavior was odd beyond Cat's kissing of Alex and she remembered reading the reports of Cat's injury. "I don't think she can understand us, Doctor."

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Jason.  Security.  "I don't think she's violent or a threat, but be prepared to stun her if necessary."

Overhearing Naoko, she glanced at Malko.  He was still in charge until Alex cleared her for duty and she knew herself well enough to know she wasn't.  Still, she did have thoughts.  "There's little more you can do here, Mr. Malko.  I suggest you take Lt. Kusaragi..." There was an edge in her voice that made Naoko shiver.  "... with you and get my ship back under control."

Kate stared at Catrina from just beyond the isolation field and smiled at her hopefully. "It's going to be okay, we had to disconnect the implant.  Just focus on me and the song okay?" She said hopefully. She began to slowly sing the song again, feeling an ache that she knew Cat couldn't recognize her but it was the least she could do to keep her centered in this moment.

For a brief moment, a face flashed in her mind and a feeling of uncontrolled rage stirred in her heart before she calmed herself and resumed the singing giving Alex a look to try to nonverbally tell him to make the most of the time she could buy him.

He furrowed his brows at Cat's actions. This was totally unlike the engineer he had made the trip to DS5 with and spent time with getting to know her a little. He couldn't help but nod slowly at the Captain's assessment of Cat's state. "Yes'sum ma'am," he said, attention moving to Kate's singing and then back to Cat before he double checked to make sure his phaser was set to stun only. His thick drawl was probably the only indication that even Jason was not unaffected. That was a friend there acting weird like.

Alex nods at the Captain and Katherine.

Mind quickly thinking... Yes, she's having multiple issues, but the comprehension was the overriding one. That meant the module was altered by the virus. Alex needed to restore it back to the original code, and the medical database would have a copy. Katherine would only distract Catrina for a short period. Alex quickly gets a copy of the original code on his medical tricoder tool, and then goes to flash the interface module and wipe it back to that version.

"Matheson, can you understand me? You need to turn off the transmitter in your neural interface so we can drop the isolation field."

Catrina's eyes fluttered as Alex rewrote her implant's microcode.  Things could have gone wrong, badly, but after a moment, her posture relaxed though her confusion remained.  Catrina looked back to see a man she didn't know, then around to see other faces that were strangers to her as well.  He wore odd clothing.  Nearly all of them did, save for a man dressed in a Starfleet uniform.  That relieved her some, but only some.  She looked at Alex, the man standing with her inside what must have been an isolation field.  "W-Who are you?"

"Catrina," Farah called out, speaking to the woman as her friend.

Cat's head snapped towards Farah.  She still couldn't make out the face, but the voice was familiar.  "Farah?"

"Yes.  Close your eyes and focus on my voice," Farah gently commanded, to which Cat obeyed.  "Something happened with the ship and your implant was infected with malware.  Dr. Dupont is with you and is here to help.  He had to reset your microcode, so you might have lost some recent memory and information."  Farah glanced at Kate.  "Someone else is here too."

Malko took a step back.  "Welcome back Catrina.  Keep up the good work, Doctor Dupont. I will be on the bridge if I am needed."

Malko strode briskly to the bridge.  At his leg length, a brisk march could pass some people's run.

Upon reaching the bridge, he stepped out of the turbo lift.  "Mr. Geary, maintain the Con for the moment."

He moved to an empty station and did what he'd told Naoko earlier, accessing logs of who had accessed the Honeypot.  From there, he asked the computer--as a confirmation--to identify all neural interface users on the ship, and if nothing relevant had come up yet, he pulled up records of all their logins in the last twelve hours and checked for inconsistencies.

"What do you know, Katherine?" he said to himself.  "You're no more likely to know what lullabies Catrina's mother sang to her than you are to know which ones my mother did for me.  But your sister surely heard the same ones you did."

The USS Mihoshi: MedBay

Alex nods while listening, "That must be very scary and frightening at times. Having lost a piece of your own memories and experiences. Relying on other people to tell you about what you can never remember. I can't imagine what it must be like even now. I can only say I'm sorry for what you've lost."

Alex does a double check of his systems, verifying there wouldn't anything he needed. "Okay, let's take it down and wipe it." For some reason he felt that he had overlooked something, it tickled the back of his mind, a consistent nagging feeling. His primary focus was still on his remaining patient in stasis, Teala.

In reply to Alex Dupont (msg # 121):

"Here we go," Cat said as she initiated the process.  She glanced over at Teala, who remained peacefully in stasis, and felt a pang of survivor's guilt.  Her own circumstances had greatly differed, then and now, but she couldn't help but feel some empathy for the woman.  It sent a chill down her spine and even though she had always intended to return to Alex for a follow-up, she asked.  "Will you check on me after the system's back up?  I'd hate to think some part of that damn virus is still lurking around in my head."

On The way to MedBay, Jessica would instruct a runner to go inform Naoko to come to Medbay when she was done with what she was handling.

And another runner to REQUEST Captain Farah also come to Medbay.

Cat didn't know exactly why Jessica had instructed messengers to get Farah or Naoko, but saw no reason to stop her.  Instead, she was more concerned with getting Jessica to Alex as he needed.  "Dr. Dupont," she said as they entered MedBay.  "I've brought Lt. Cmdr Laurent."

Jessica would enter Medbay as instructed, making sure Catrina entered first. There was a frown accompanied by furrowed eyebrows on the young engineers' face as she entered.

Upon seeing the doctor, her expression shifty several ways as her furrowed eyebrows raised before she settled on looking Cryo where Teala was, all from the entry door. "Doctor Dupont," her expression soften, but she still did not approach as she spoke across the room, "You are the reason no one has died, mistakes where made but you mitigated the most critical of consequences to those mistakes." She would lean back to look out into the hallway, checking both directions, before then finally stepping in enough to allow the doors to close if they still would. If they didn't, and she clearly checks, she would step to just inside and to the side of the door, "I have sent for Lt Kusuragi and Captain Farah."

Alex looks up with a scanner in hand, clearly confused by her preamble, "Okay, Commander Laurent, I have no idea why any of that is important, but time is of the essence. I need to scan you." He'll approach Jessica with the scanner in hand.

Assuming she allows the scan: (If not, I'll follow up with a response post to the reaction)
He scans her, quirks an eyebrow, does it again, "Tricky bugger. You have the virus. Let me grab the tools to wipe it from your implant. Please lay down on the bed."

As Dupont approached, scanner in hand, "Doctor, please wait." if he didn't, she would actually step back out into the hallway but either way she would continue "you sent Lieutenant commander Matheson in her state across the ship to call over for something that's classified, and, frankly, an engineering issue." Her expression hardened as she spoke but then quickly neutralized as she made a point to give a more polite and respectful one, "look, I'm going to have Naoko handle," again looking up and down the hall before again looking back to Alex to make sure no one is in the hall "to handle something that's classified in at least two ways and directly relevant to her work, we have some time... they are going to manually adjust course with the thrusters and there will be a check before we start rebooting the system to make sure everything has been wiped to prevent reinfection.... trust that engineering is handling their job... Captain Farah chose us all for a reason, just as you handled yours so exemplary. please."

Having the knowledge of the device he held in his hand, she could understand about its range and would go so far as to even step down the hall to avoid his scan if he so insisted.

Alex shakes his head, "I'm sorry Lt. Cmdr. Laurent, you are potentially endangering the lives of everyone on board this vessel by delaying my diagnosis. This virus is adaptive and has proven to hide in plain sight. If I didn't know better I'd say you were acting compromised. You know the basic scan won't compromise your implant, and there is nothing classified when it comes to your implant that I haven't already reviewed. That device falls under medical purview."

He continues to approach Jessica, "The mere fact you are avoiding the basic scan shows you are distrustful of me and clearly not thinking straight. Now, either get the basic scan now or I'll relieve you of duties until we clear your device and you back to duty."

Deckar rounds the corner, holding his hand to his chest.  Seeing the betazoid backing away form the medbay with the man, doctor by his insignia, is following her with some sort of device in his hand, he call out, "Commander Laurent, Is everything in alright?"

Jason entered the MedBay carefully, avoiding moving his left arm too much. He had gone back to his shared quarters and then realized that he might want to go see the Doc first before anything else. "Hey Doc," he said to catch Alex's attention. "I... unn... need a couple of things looked at," he said sheepishly.

"A spar happened. Might have overdone it a little." He gave a slight shrug as he moved over and sat down on the bed the Doc pointed at. "She's fast thought, got me a few times and I am pretty sure I got a few welts from her." He actually pulled his tee shirt up to show the thin red welt on his right side just below his ribs. "I'd show you the others but I am having issues lifting my left arm up. Mighta pulled a muscle."

"Pretty intense sparring session Mr. Walker. Let me give you something for the pain." Scanning the area and giving a pain suppressant was the first order of business.

"Okay, give that a second to kick in. And then we can work on correcting your welts and muscle strains." He gives a pointed look, "I haven't seen you in here before for sparring, was there anything different that prompted... this level of... effort?"

Jason nodded, he wasn't too bothered by the welts he had gain, it was the shoulder that could cause problems in the future. "Thanks, sir."

He gave a brief grin to the Doc. "I haven't actually gone that hard since DS5, sir. You might find me a visitor once in a while. Pain's a great motivator to improve skills. But the level of effort? Might have been my partner's level of aggravation from the recent events, sir."

Jason nodded slowly. "Yea, though I was tempted to do a standard training with no locks in the holodeck. That would have required a visit to you after. Its a stress test in itself." With the pain gone, the muscles relaxed in his shoulder. "Shoulder, I think I did something when I was disarming my opponent."

Alex chuckles, "You certainly have interesting ideas on how to release stress. And you of all people should know not to override the holodeck safeties. They are there to prevent accidental deaths. Challenge yourself with the Klingon workout if you need to get your stress beaten out of you. But if you are open to alternative, less strenuous methods, might I offer you Yoga or meditation as a incredible workout without the torn ligaments and pulled shoulders."

Alex lets out a low whistle after seeing the scan, "Wow, your opponent didn't hold back, torn shoulder muscles, right side large hematoma, left side hematoma under the left armpit and flank. Luckily no broken or cracked ribs. I can fix you up but you'll need to stretch to avoid stiffness from the new tissues." Alex begins the regrowth of the torn tissues.

Jason laughed. "That was my problem. I didn't stretch like I should have. Its not her fault, its mine. It wasn't my stress either. This... the issue that happened was exciting for me but my friends got hurt in the process."

He glanced at the doctor, hesitating. "Can I ask if 'she' is ok right now?" He didn't mention names but he had been part of something by accident and was concerned. In general he was too nice a guy.
