Re: OOC Thread

The Duke:
Man we are one horrible party. We either just ignore the others of our troupe or aren't even bothered to notice them. We are so gonna not accomplish anything.

Hmm, curious what you mean here. It does seem we have some characters who are a bit detached from humanity and seem to mostly observe but I don't know what you mean by ignore others in our troupe. So far everybody who has acted on their environment has done so as a direct reaction to the actions of another party memeber.

From a meta standpoint I'd be interested to hearing ideas to improve group cohesion.

Anchorite Tearful has informed me that she's dropping out, just doesn't have the time to devote that she thought she'd have, and I understand and accept that. I'm NPCing her and will soon be writing her gently out of the story...

Re: OOC Thread

Yeah we are detached from each other as much as from humanity.

The Lady wants worship but none give it and she has taken no steps to make anyone do so. She is just present and thats it.

The Kitty was ooc absent but doesn't care about anything when its about It doesn't want to be petted nor wants to play cat and mouse.

JJ just wants to watch and observe.

The Duke is the bull in a china store without anyone guiding or at least trying to will knock expensive things over.

Grigory is interacting with the woman but fully ignored the oaf that broke the house.

Dunno it feels like each of us is playing their own game regardless of what the others are doing and the biggest group doesn't even feel like participating at all.

Re: OOC Thread

It’s only the start of the game, there are no bonds tying us together and the kitty might act like he doesn’t care, but his player was mainly away and now was gaging the person they met to see if she(?) was interesting enough to interact with. At least she didn’t run away. Also, she smells funny.

True mostly, I'd love for a bit more interaction from the observer group, but Grigori didn't exactly ignore the Duke in the same way the Duke didn't ignore Grigori. The Duke heard Grigori say something and acted on it, causing a situation that Grigori acted on, including,

"Grigori glares at the Duke after his careless smashing"

I will say I'm 100% I'm ready to hop on board with the Lady, just looking for some in character things to earn or *demonstrate* the utility of worship. I'm guessing/hoping that JJ and Aesop are more the sort to step in when their motivations are activated a bit more directly (whatever those may be).

Re: OOC Thread

I think, at least for me, it’s also the nature of pbp gaming. Having dialogue around a table only slows things down for a couple of minutes, while having a dialogue with other players while posting could slow down play for those not part of the conversation for weeks, and I’d feel uncomfortable hogging that much spotlight at the cost of slowing down things for others.

Unless and until it's made clear to me (OOC or In-Game), I will continue to presume that the group is now specifically talking amongst itself, and so the old lady will not interrupt...

LA LA LA LA LA LA old lady can't hear you, she is steadfastly refusing to eavesdrop on this conference if no one specifically addresses her.

Re: OOC Thread

Aesop wouldn’t think of this so I’ll just offer it here, ooc. Maybe the lady (the one that cooks, not the deity amongst us) can give or draw us a map of the surroundings? It could maybe warn us of dangers around?

I’m having an incredibly busy few days ahead of me. Don’t expect a post from me until at least on monday (and even then, aiming for wednesday is probably safer)

Waiting for the Lady to respond so hopefully we can step out together (and maybe give her a chance to do something worthy of worship by the octopods?)

Re: OOC Thread

I was gonna ask if Grigory could use the Aid move to help the Lady, and bump that 6 to a 7, but then I realized there are no bonds, so I guess that's not a possibility?

I'm gonna say:

If you want to try to Aid someone, just say how you help in the narrative, then roll based on how you help, then report your roll and I'll decide what happens and narrate from there.

Re: OOC Thread

I will be unavailable for the weekend. Aesop will probably perk up if intimidation is needed or something of that kind, but will be relying on the others for social graces.

Re: OOC Thread

For those taking action, should you call upon your Goddess for aid, then she may bless you with some of her Attention.

For example, should Aesop (actually) show enough faith in The Lady, and fall upon her for luck, that ‘9’ result might actually modify to a ‘10’.

Re: OOC Thread

The way that you bolded “Call upon your goddess” made me think it was a specific move, but I cannot find it anywhere. Also, in his mind Aesop ir protecting you, so he wouldn’t think of calling on you for aid as he’s aiding you. Anyway, it’s a bit of a moot point anyway, since he tried to intimidate with the intention of scaring them away and avoid a fight, but a fight still happened :P

Also, the way the playbook for the monster is written he would have no need to worship anything, but is mainly looking for friendship.

Re: OOC Thread

The moment the goddess would take steps to ensure The Duke actually sees her like something to be worshipped things like that might actually happen.

Also i don't think there was a fight. Something much more nasty just happened. ;-)
