msg#31:
There is a new doorway on the opposite wall from the entrance, with about three steps upward to it.
The Lady:
Through yonder door.
Perhaps it is the entrance to said hallway of which Juniper speaks.
So The Lady casually glides over towards it, testing to see if it will open for her.
quote:
The doorway in question does in fact lead to a long hallway, about 40 yards or so. Its ceiling, too, lights up when one enters it.
At the far end is another doorway, open.
The ... door starts closing at the far end right away-- and it's two feet thick, of a very, very sturdy metal
So, The Lady is thinking that as this (fountain room) door is closed, the other opens. And when this door is opened, the car one closes.
She wants The Duke to enter the hallway between the two doors; she will remain in the fountain room and close these doors, and she wants The Duke to observe whether (with the fountain room doors closed) the yonder doors at the other end of the hall subsequently open.
