The Duke is correct.

It's a way of The Duke aiding a future roll.

Example:
1. The Lady tries crossing a short bridge slippery with mud, and fails her roll.
2. Asks The Duke: "Is this that thing you were predicting?"
3. If The Duke says yes, you get to attempt to improve the roll somewhat.

It's part of his special playbook

How does healing work? Being one step removed from death means The Duke is in a really bad shape and if healing is slow he might end up sulking here for a bit because of auchies!

Pfffffffff. Again, my fault. I calculated damage like I was in one of my (many) other games.

The Duke is Somewhat Wounded, the first level of being wounded.


-Somewhat Wounded (you could really use a number of stitches, or you bruised a rib, or wrenched something a bit, or are right on the edge of being shaky and/or lightheaded and/or nauseated... if it were any worse it would impair your performance, but you're okay to function for this moment)


As for healing, if you don't have any medkits or anything, you'll have to find some, or someone who has some...

My understanding was that Foers is/was a real teddy bear programmed by The Ziggurat who would zap The Duke if he was tempted to harm an ally.

The Duke may have some additional conceptions about Foers...

Foers is a digital figment projected into the real world by a sophisticated Friend Or Enemy Recognition System that designates anyone not from the ziggurat as free reign to be killed and anyone form there as friend and an attempt to attack them leads to an elextric jolt straight into the brain.

Inspired by that thing on his shoulder as being the 'real' Foers

Ok, so Foers ('Friend or Enemy Recognition System') is a personal security system, possibly hardwired into The Duke?
That projects a hologram?  of a teddy bear?

Can that hologram / 'digital figment projection' be seen by anyone nearby?

I imagined him as an imaginary friend. retina projection thing so i'd say no. On the other hand machines aren't designed with gods in mind.

I'm fine with a goddess seeing what The Duke sees or believes he sees, in this case. He believes in The Lady, and he believes in Foers, so...

The verdant growth was, to my memory, described as a strip, running up to the top of the hill/horizon.
I don't know if we followed, parallel to, it to that crest or not ... but basically planning on entering the stretch of green scenery and moving though it in search of any signs of intelligent life.

My main question about seeking new players is: would you two be ready for that? What if they wanted to, like, post every day? Or more than once a day? I think I could handle it, but could you two keep up...?
