The thread in PLAYERS WANTED didn't light up for me like I expected, but it turns out I've got possibly 3 new players, probably at least one... Am discussing character stuff with them now...

We definitely seem to be getting one new player character: Orleon Templeton, the (journeyman) sorcerer...

Re: OOC Thread

I certainly hope it is a mad-house! Orleon did not sign up for normalcy when it comes to something called "Dying Earth"!

I'm letting the equipment list marinate in my mind and after I should be ready.

Uhm good?

Tucked away in his private chambers, Templeton can usually be found bent over tomes or recipes from the ancient world. The world before the Dying. Orleon is well-kept to nearly a fault. In old world robes he appears more like a monk than a scholar. Pouches and folds conceal all he needs for a day's research and development.

Stats are fine, but that seems like more than 3 levels' worth of stuff...?

Dagger: Defensive and Concealed = Class 2
Research Kit: Books Stylus of the Sage: Class 1
Staff: Stun = Class 1
Old world robes: Regalia Impressive = Class 1

So... that's... 5 levels worth of stuff...

You could, I suppose, get rid of the dagger...?

Okay...

Now, you didn't choose a vehicle, but the Ziggurat can loan you one...

This is what I'm thinking:

Your research (or a spell?) suggests to you that there's something very valuable to your studies at The Cloister, so you suddenly tell The Ziggurat that you want to catch up with the expedition. The Ziggurat tells you that there's a tracker in the walker that The Lady and The Duke are using, so The Ziggurat sends you in a vehicle of your own to catch up to them. (The vehicle can be pre-programmed to return on its own when it drops you off.)

What do you think? Any objections, anyone...?

Like what? Food and drink? A bedroll or hammock? Yes to any of those. What else, if anything, do you have in mind?

Orleon has grown quite accostomed to the finer things in life and solitude. There is no doubt that in his cache for the mission he would have a few bottles of this and that. Excellent food from his own wares. I mean someone does not simply go into the wasteland unprepared do they?

I'm fine with taking a few bottles.

If there are no other objections, I'll introduce you tomorrow (morning, probably).

Small problem in visualization: There is no sun. It died out completely some time ago.

Light is provided by giant lamps on the moon, and by several smaller satellites.

(No one is certain what keeps the planet warm enough. It just is.)

Re: OOC Thread

Unless anything you just described stops the Duke from doing what he intend he will still do that.

And as the water was flowing uphill towards the building is the water actually coming out of the fountain or going in?
