Re: IC Thread: BACK TO THE DOOMWALKER...

The Duke sees the bikes zoom about and grabs one of the things that wants to do a fly by attack on him out of the air and crumples the bike and its rider up in a bloody ball as he eyes the troupe chasing his companions and tosses the meatball of steel at the attacking enemies like he is bowling.

ooc: Well another 9 and a +1 on the next act of violence.

Also guys i can not prophesize you if you do not use your existing prophecies! Or can i overwrite old ones for fresh ones?

11:08, Today: The Duke rolled 9 using 2d6+2 with rolls of 3,4.  More atrocious then ever.

Re: IC Thread: BACK TO THE DOOMWALKER...

OOC: Duke I was saving mine for the Doomwalker, because the thing "Feels" like a real-life prophecy about the doomwalker. Are you able to make new prophecies if we use up old ones? That's the biggest reason I've been scared to use mine up.

Alyn considered his next action, as he has his Psiwalker practically leap up and over a biker who was being nommed on by moths that had since lost control of their bike.

Alyn then attempted to read the minds of one of the Parrot-bandits, to try and learn more about them, but the chaos of the battle wasn't making it easy...

09:16, Today: Alyn Reed rolled 5 using 2d6+1 with rolls of 2,2.  Insightful.

(I'm okay with you rewriting old prophecies with new ones.)

With The Duke's new attack, the bikers aren't all destroyed now, but none of them are moving anymore. The mind-moths have turned off the mice-parrots' brain activity...

(Yes, he can make new ones if you use the old ones.)

There's nothing left for Alyn to read.

The spaceship rolls in a complete circle... then Commander Hornbill's body slumps forward, and the spaceship is headed right for Alyn (again).

Commander Hornbill couldn't have survived that shot, could he?

Normally, no... but what if the cyborg part of him, still plugged into the big ship, still retains a little control/awareness...?

OOC: Does Alyn gain an xp for his roll of 5 from before, or no? Just checking to make sure my records are accurate.

Seeing Hornbill's ship veering suddenly toward him, Alyn's eyes flicker as he makes a shoo-ing motion with his right hand, sending a wave of telekinetic energy toward the oncoming threat.

15:20, Today: Alyn Reed rolled 8 using 2d6+1 with rolls of 2,5.  Weird/Scary.

OOC: My intention is to telekinetically blast the thing away from Alyn. If you make me choose between damage or movement from my 8, I favor movement i.e. making Alyn not an attack target this turn.

Neutralized or not the Duke goes to town on the immobilised pirrots turning them all into one big ball of scrap to throw at the space ship.

(Yes. I've been maybe making a little extra effort again to remind lately for Pesky's sake, but I expect you three old pros to mostly remember to mark it yourselves every time.)

Alyn moves the vehicle-- it lurches to the left, again, and passes him harmlessly by a good 50 yards...

Pesky risks a quick glance behind them.  Seeing the hornbill's ship angling off, with the driver slumped over the wheel, he faces forward and begins to decelerate.

Turning to regroup with the others, he addresses Kalsk without looking at him.

"You do that?"

OOC: Okay, then xp 4->5 in my profile. ^_^

"Look alive folks! I sent his ship veering away but he's still a live threat. I think his cybernetics are running the show more than he is though...hmmm...what to do?" Alyn said as he considered.

Alyn's eyes lit up all of a sudden...

21:59, Today: Alyn Reed rolled 7 using 2d6+1 with rolls of 5,1.  Weird/Scary.

OOC: The intention is to telekinetically grab Hornbill right out of his vehicle and just...toss him to the ground nearby.

Re: IC Thread: BACK TO THE DOOMWALKER...

The Duke realizing his friends are still engaged after he is done mopping up the birds uses two of their bikes to propel him forward and launches himself into the spaceship demolisher fists first. It sparks and arcs and the thing tumbles and rolls as cyber enhanced brute clashes with dead cyber birds electronics. And then the Duke hits something with to much electricity for him to bear and FOERS and the dead birds electronics fuse and with a terrible roar the ship takes flight taking the Duke and his food along turning into a light blinking out at the horizon mere moments later.

ooc: So a partial success. Took the liberty of turning it into a vanishing act for the Duke. ;-)

10:33, Today: The Duke rolled 9 using 2d6+3 with rolls of 1,5.  Forcefull.

The still-sparking body of Commander Hornbill is left lying on the ground, but his spaceship hovers away to the west erratically (though it looks like it might change course left or right (or down or up) at any time).

You can examine the body (maybe see if he's got anything in his pockets), see if Commander Hornbill is still alive or not, or just leave him there, but whatever you do, the avian(/rodent) fight is over...

Ajakstu casually makes his way over to the Commander and pins him to the ground with the walker. fishing out a snack from the cooler he climbs down and scrutinizes the fallen foe.

"So I'm going to count to three. If you're still with us, start begging sooner rather than later. At three I'm cutting the metal out of you."

Taking out his knives, he begins. "One....Two..."

Pesky stops the vehicle and exits, followed closely by Kalsk.

As he nears the oddly still body of the pseudo-avian leader, he hears Ajakstu say something, though Pesky's not sure what it was.  He comes to a stop close by, just as Ajakstu begins to count slowly.

Re: IC Thread: BACK TO THE DOOMWALKER...

Alyn watches the Duke (fly off in the distance?), and has a strange psionic precognitive notion that they would be seeing the Duke again soon, and that they shouldn't worry.

He turned to the others, and watched Ajak examine Hornbill.

"Go for it bud. If it doesn't respond, try and um...loot it or whatever and see if there's something we can use."

The right side (your left) of Commander Hornbill's body shakily raises up (but not remotely to his feet-- just lifts his head and part of his torso off the ground) and looks at you... gestures... very vaguely... Clacks his beak a couple of times but doesn't speak.

"Looks like the cyborg part's somewhat operative, but not the flesh," says Kalsk.

"Yeah, he was totally talkin' when we first met 'im," says Vult.

Ajakstu recognizes ONE thing of potential value amongst the cyborg's hardware.

What is it?

(Pick one:
--A weapon?
--A specialized piece of computer circuitry?
--A useful clue about who made Commander Hornbill and why he attacked you?
--Or mmmmaybe make a suggestion of your own that's none of these three?)

Ajakstu paused and straightened. He glanced at something in his hand, scowled, started to pocket it, looked at the others, and then pocketed it.

“Circuitry,” he said. “We can see if any of the three vehicles can make out what it is, starting with mi..The Duke’s. Regardless, dibs.”

Ajakstu plugs the circuitry into The Duke's vehicle.

It turns out it's an autonomous piloting system! You can now just tell The Duke's vehicle where to go, and with what speed, with voice commands. It will only work for you humans (and Kalsk and Vult, if you program it that way). It doesn't have any sort of global positioning system-- it won't know how to get to Gnost without directions, for example-- but now you can have it follow you without a driver on board if you ever need that for some reason, or you can just shout commands to it while you shoot at things, etc.!

Re: IC Thread: BACK TO THE DOOMWALKER...

Ajakstu relates the information to the group, leaving out any mention of programming it for Kalsk and Vult.

"So if we can't get the Doomwalker running, in theory we can strip its weapons, mount them on the largest vehicle, and have a gun platform."

Does Ajakstu think this circuitry is enough to control the Doomwalker?
