[OOC] The Tavern
It sounds like we have a very well balanced party! I'm sure this was not coincidental.
Not only are we well rounded mechanically, but thematically we have so many elements to explore.
With Radgonda we have the Byzantine world of politics and nobility, vying in some ways it sounds with her generous nature and her belief in the wholesome community values of Erastil. I will be very interested in seeing her blend the two, and as I don't think I have ever seen a Paladin of Erastil in play, I'm looking forward to it. A great concept.
In Basil we have not only the murky realities of mercantilism and espionage coming to the fore, but it sounds like the man himself is something of an ethical conundrum. I really liked his description by the way,you should get that posted some time.
Tosk, taking the lead on matters of theological importance, while also on his own path of self perfection. It will be greag I think to see him blend his faith with politics and public opinion going forward. A war priest leading the faithful of burgeoning settlement? Could be really cool.
Renee, it seems her interests are boundless, and her item creation penchant could lead to entire chapters in themselves! What will she do with such vast accumulated knowledge and incredible versatility?
Falco, practically a poster boy it sounds like for the sturdy, salt of the earth settler. I imagine he will fit very well with Randondas philosophy. Plus every group should have an animal mascot. What breed were you thinking of modeling him on?
As for Ursion himself, he will be more of a tank mechanically, yes. Although I am also exploring some fear based debuffing to help with crowd control and give him some limited social options. Guys probably going to be pretty scary.
From a story perspective I have a few arcs I would love to explore, Ursion discovering culture outside of Cheliax, to his duty versus personal desires versus heritage, to the "scaling" of Hellknight philosophy in the Stolen Lands.
I went with the Order of the Scourge specifically because they are depicted as being unafraid to go after powerful nobles and those who use the law to shield them from scrutiny and punishment. So he could end up tilting at some pretty big windmills!
I'm also just looking forward to seeing how everyone gets along together. It should be a lot of fun.
