Tosk:
Hmmm do you ha e a way to heal yourself?

Not yet, but picking up a couple Inflict Light Wounds potions are high on the to-do list.

The heal skill works on pretty much anyone, including undead, if that's what you are.

[OOC] The Tavern

Nope. Basil eats, drinks, sleeps, sweats, farts, the whole bit. Could probably even reproduce if he weren't careful. Just had something "reverse the polarity", as it were. Might be a family curse, but he's a little short on family members to ask. ...Unless you count his ex-wife.  He sure doesn't.

Ah, then you wouldn't mind if Renee takes a few blood samples? This requires researching.

We'll see. Basil's the private type, and would like to shed as little blood as possible on this little venture. Hell, that's the prime reason he's on this expedition.

[OOC] The Tavern

It sounds like we have a very well balanced party! I'm sure this was not coincidental.

Not only are we well rounded mechanically, but thematically we have so many elements to explore.

With Radgonda we have the Byzantine world of politics and nobility, vying in some ways it sounds with her generous nature and her belief in the wholesome community values of Erastil. I will be very interested in seeing her blend the two, and as I don't think I have ever seen a Paladin of Erastil in play, I'm looking forward to it. A great concept.

In Basil we have not only the murky realities of mercantilism and espionage coming to the fore, but it sounds like the man himself is something of an ethical conundrum. I really liked his description by the way,you should get that posted some time.

Tosk, taking the lead on matters of theological importance, while also on his own path of self perfection. It will be greag I think to see him blend his faith with politics and public opinion going forward. A war priest leading the faithful of burgeoning settlement? Could be really cool.

Renee, it seems her interests are boundless, and her item creation penchant could lead to entire chapters in themselves! What will she do with such vast accumulated knowledge and incredible versatility?

Falco, practically a poster boy it sounds like for the sturdy, salt of the earth settler. I imagine he will fit very well with Randondas philosophy. Plus every group should have an animal mascot. What breed were you thinking of modeling him on?

As for Ursion himself, he will be more of a tank mechanically, yes. Although I am also exploring some fear based debuffing to help with crowd control and give him some limited social options. Guys probably going to be pretty scary.

From a story perspective I have a few arcs I would love to explore, Ursion discovering culture outside of Cheliax, to his duty versus personal desires versus heritage, to the "scaling" of Hellknight philosophy in the Stolen Lands.

I went with the Order of the Scourge specifically because they are depicted as being unafraid to go after powerful nobles and those who use the law to shield them from scrutiny and punishment. So he could end up tilting at some pretty big windmills!

I'm also just looking forward to seeing how everyone gets along together. It should be a lot of fun.

My laziness knows no bounds, sir. That said, I'll get it up today, probably around the time I submit my finished character.

[OOC] The Tavern

I hope to do sheet audits tonight but unfortunately due to being quarantined with a litter of small children my free time is very sporadic. Sometimes I have all the time in the world, other days I can barely tread water.

I think there is definitely a lot of room for role play between all of us which should be good for the story.  Philosophies will be fun to discuss.

[OOC] The Tavern

There is a real lack of portraits for halflings that are not Bilbo or Frodo. Even less ones that don't seem to fall into the rogue stereotype.

Mainly that he looks like a halfling, but not a rogue/scoundrel. I don't usually go in before I find a portrait with specific ideas of what they look like.

I guess I should rephrase the question XD

What does a halfing look like, ideally? The sort of classic Tolkien Welshman with curly black hair? I wouldn't mind helping you look!

Honestly I just pick any human portrait that looks young. There really aren't a lot of distinguishing features of halflings. It's not like the elven ears or the dwarven beards or the gnome noses.

So something like this:

While I'm waiting for things to get started, and while I'm self-isolating, I thought it would be fun to do a toony sketch of Renee!

She's not exactly a lover... and she's not exactly a fighter...

Thanks!

I'm a VFX artist. I don't illustrate for work (though I do make textures and occasionally little magic animations in Photoshop), but I do have an art degree.

[OOC] The Tavern

In reply to Radgonda Lebeda (msg # 55):

No guarantees! My sister asked me to draw her a tattoo, and 15 years later, I still haven't finished it.

That said, if people want their characters drawn, your descriptions will have to be a lot more descriptive. Either that, or find a good full-body picture like Tosk did... keeping in mind that we're still level 1.

UPDATE: By the by, if people need help finding portraits, I've got a link to an Imagur album that has tons and tons of portraits other people have collected: https://imgur.com/a/UW1dhXN
