Silver pulls up and exits the taxi locked and loaded...

Sorry Dude.  I was asking you for a Pathfinder check instead of a Traveler check.  Too many games.  I meant to ask for a Recon/Int.  I'm going to give it to you since I fowled up.

As the cab starts to pull up to Tia's dock Silver, you notice a couple of things.

First, the airlock door has been tampered with.  It's cracked open.

And across the way, a Fat Trader is parked in the berth right across the field from Tia.  You can tell it has it's forward cameras trained on Tia.  The cameras on those ships are blistered out from the hull, and it's easy to tell which way they're pointed.

There's also a woman standing out by the Fat Trader's landing strut, smoking a cig.  And obviously keeping an eye on what's going down.

Taking charge wasn't exactly Silver's deal but an opportunity was an opportunity. She hopped out of the cab and locker her rifle on the smoking cig woman.

"Hey friend! How's it going. Don't move unless you want some armor piercers going through your chest."

In reply to Silver (msg # 62):

Smoker Lady throws up her hands.  "Whoa whoa whoa!  Cycle down on that engine Sugar Tits!  I'm just gettin' my jones on!"

She looks to have a pistol tucked into the back of her pants.  But she's not making a move for it.

Ledo going after the guy on board?

Silver marches up looking as badass as possible.

"Cut the shit. Tell your man to get the fuck out of our ship or I'm sending a frag grenade right through your air lock."

Ledo armed with his static blade now starts talking to Rig and Fritz.

"Alright where is he going. I'm assuming you guys have every door locked down to slow him down. Tell me where he is and I can try and keep him from doing whatever it is he's about to do."

Up on the bridge Rig is working frantically to unloop their cameras. Whatever they did to the ship's computer he had a good shot of undoing.

She cocks her head.  "Look.  We could stand here and start something stupid.  Or we can use our words.  Which option you wanna exercise here?"

Righ, the cameras are pretty messed up.  The security cams.  They didn't hit the maintenance cams.  You get them retrained quick.

It's not perfect:  you're mostly looking at ankles.  But you can see a set of ankles you don't know.

They're in the hold.  It seems he's cutting through the garden.  But he's not heading for engineering.  He's going for the hatch that drops down into holding.

Silver just snorts.

"The fuck do I care? I'm out here and you'll be dead. Seems good enough to me. Last chance to tell your guy inside to abort and stand down or you start racking up medical bills. I'm not the talker. I'm the fucker upper."

That line sounded a bit more intimidating in her mind as opposed to when she said it but she didn't really care. She was more focused on keeping her rifle trained to the woman's center of mass as opposed to trying to come up with pithy things to say.

Ledo gave a sigh and a nod. It was time to engage but if the guy was cutting he would have time to make one last pit stop. He swung back to his quarters to armor up. This was likely going to get bad. Really bad. This wasn't a simple theft or a shipjacking, this was a surgical strike which mean the caliber of infiltrator was significantly higher. Once he was armored up and ready with his static blade it was time to take the fight to the enemy.

Up in the cockpit Rig continued to work on unfucking their security while keeping an eye on the infiltrator. He was also making mental notes of all the repair work he would have to do as the guy cut his way through the ship.

"Fritz, do you think you can hack any transmissions coming from inside the ship? If this guy is talking to someone let's see if we can't listen in."

In reply to Silver (msg # 68):

Oh yeah.  That's no problem.  This guy is transmitting but it's a video feed.  Wanna see?

The patch comes through on the screen next to the one you're working on Rig.

It looks like a helmet cam.  The feed is just showing whatever the intruder is seeing.  Though he seems to be looking around a lot.

Smoker shrugs at you Silver.  "I have pretty good insurance.  Here's the thing.  You start a fire fight here, Port Security will come down on you.  Not us.  We'd be within our rights to return fire on the ship of the person who attacked us.  All the security cameras around will capture you firing the first shot.  I'd be willing to bet someone on your crew has a criminal record.  C'mon.  You're not stupid.  Who are they gonna believe?

"You want our guy off the ship?  Fine.  No point in it now.  But lemme ask you a question."

She studies you a moment.

"Which side are you guys on?"

Ledo, by the time you've snapped on your armor vest, Rig has patched the intruder's video feed into your comm line.  Looks like the guy is taking a pace through your cargo.

He's not seeming to pay much attention to strike zone targets.  He's already passed by a few fuel lines and an access panel to the back up life support system.

He's just...looking around.

Silver lets out a snort.

"That sounds like a whole lot of shit I don't care about. No more questions, no more delays. Make the call or lose a knee."

Silver is done negotiating or whatnot, consequences be damned. She was pretty sure most of what smoker was saying was bullshit and figured Ledo would straighten it out if it wasn't. She did take the time to glance briefly at the ship to see what kind of cameras were pointed their way.

Her finger was already stroking the trigger and every bit of tone and body language showed she wasn't listening to smoker wax philisophical. If the next words out of her mouth weren't to tell her intruder to abort she was going to start firing. If smoker was lucky it would only be the knee and she would forget to ride the recoil up and spray her whole torso.

Mr. Stealth either was napping or puts a lot of trust in his armor as your blade manages to catch Ledo>  That faith in his armor is well founded, though you think you managed to sink the blade in, though not as deep as you would have liked.

Smoker hesitates a moment.  She seems to have stopped paying you attention for a moment Silver.  She then says, "Sounds like one of your guys just stabbed our guy.  So it'd be kinda hard to tell him to get."  She looks at you.  "You wanna tell your guy to stop stabbing him I can tell him to evac.  But up to you."  Smoker shrugs.  "I owe him some credits.  If he gets nixed, it'd save me some trouble."

Ledo brings his sword up to defend himself...

Silver let out a growl. She had been hoping to just shoot everyone and be done with it. Now she had to talk and listen and work.

"Yo guys, there's a ship across the spot that dumped your intruder out. I've got one of theirs at gun point and she said she will call him back if you stop stabbing him. Get out here and you do the talking. I'm not playing middle man for this."

To be fair Silver was very drunk and very high at the time. She was doing her best to hold it together but her brain was cloudy and that made her angry.

Ledo heard Silver's voice and bit back a curse. What the hell was going on? Keeping his sword at the ready he stepped back after the man's punch came in.

"Alright here's the deal. We've got your ship under our guns and one of your crew in our sights. They're going to call you back so as long as you don't do anything stupid I'm going to stop stabbing you and we're all going to have a nice chat outside, okay?"

Mr. Sneaky steps back, raising both hands.  "Sure.  It all pays the same."

The two of you march outside Ledo, until you're reunited with Silver and a woman who is squashing a cigarette under one jack boot.

Mr. Sneaky stops at a reasonable distance.

Smoking Lady looks you over and then slowly takes out her hand comm.  She taps a switch and shows you the screen.

Siena/Smoker smiles.  "I guess we should have a chat about some things, huh?  Anything you wanna ask first?"

Ledo has his sword out but the point is down. Silver likewise is next to him with her gun out but shifted so it isn't pointing directly at anyone but is still pointed in their general direction.

Ledo makes sure the comms are open so the rest of the crew can listen in and offer suggestions if necessary.

"Let's start with the obvious one. What the hell are you doing hacking into our ship and cutting through the hull? Should we send the repair bill to the Duchess or what?"

Does the open comm apply to BB and Nero as well?

Siena shrugs.  "I could point out that as far as hacking goes, you guys hacked our loaner shuttle earlier today now didn't you? So I could say tonight is just payback and upping you one.  But really that's not it."

She reaches in to a coat and brings out another cigarette.  "See, I convinced the higher ups that we needed to dispense with the cat and mouse bullshit and just make direct contact.  That's what this is about.  We wanted to get your attention.  You're ex-military.  You know the best way to do that is give a shot across the bow, right?"

She lights her cigarette.

"You guys have come up on a lot of lists lately.  And I mean a lot.  Pretty sure you guys were involved in that auction robbery back in Three Sisters.  And then there's Wyltz.  You guys were hanging out with one of the terrorist leaders.  That chippy from the band. Not to mention that,"  She gestures at Silver, "Her brother is suspected of supplying the arms and security intel the terrorists used.  And now you're transporting some interesting people.

"Oh.  And that hack on the car today.  That was very, very well done.  Was that your engineer?  He's good.  Someone that good just now getting noticed.  That's even more surprising."

Seina waves a hand.  "Now I want to say you guys are just some shmoes with really bad luck.  That's kind of how you vibe to me.  But let's be honest.  Is anyone really that unlucky?"

She shrugs.  "You tell me."

Ledo made sure it was just core crew. BB was busy guarding the film crew and Nero...well the less Nero was involved the better.

"We make our own luck, right? So yeah, really shitty luck recently because I don't just sit by and let things happen. I was at the auction heist and nearly got my jaw broken because of it. As for the pop band we just happened to be in the same room as them when shit went down and fuck me for not wanting to leave a bunch of people to drown so we saved everyone we could. That terrorist leader nearly blew up my ship because of it. Right now we're just trying to get the hell away from everything that is going on because as you pointed out its been absolute shit for us. Between constant pirate attacks, terrorist attacks and the Duchess following us everywhere we go we're ready for a change of scenery.

I left the Navy to get away from all this political bullshit. We're just trying to pay off our mortgage and not get blown up in the process."

He paused and jerked a thumb back at his ship.

"And yeah, our engineer is that damn good. You haven't heard of him before because he is that good. So go tell your boss that if she wants to offer us a job we'll listen but otherwise we don't appreciate her dogs nipping at our heels. We might be a bunch of...what did you call us? Shmoes? But we're damn good at our jobs."

Siena chuckles and leans slightly closer. "If you were good at your jobs, we wouldn't be having this conversation.  Now would we?

"Be safe Ledo Typhin.  Hoper your luck gets better."

She drops her cigarette and smooshes it out.  "You can send the bill for damages to your ship to Mora Security.  Feel free to pad it."

She nods at Mr. Sneaky and the two start to head back onto their ship.

Ledo wasn't really expecting an answer but there was always the hope that sometime, in some way, he would get a straight answer.
