Shopping at Jessop's Goods

"These bits don't come from any common beasts," Jessop says about the teeth, fangs, and spikes. "I'm sure I can find a buyer for something so unusual."

Remember, the value given when you acquired the parts is the purchase price. Jessop buys them for half.

Shopping at Jessop's Goods

Pleased to have unloaded his burden, Nutcracker collected his coins and nodded to Jessop in approval. "Thank you kindly," he said with an odd, deep drawl. It wasn't much, but he had little need for anything expensive. His bow was now magical and quite effective, but getting any more would require so much that it was unrealistic at this time. Best to enjoy what he had for the time being. Work for the town would help provide what the wilds could not.

OOC: Aha, noted. Collected 11gp 5sp

Entering the shop, Victor knocks the snow from his boots before crossing the threshold, closing the door after him.

"Hello again Jessop. No doubt you've heard about the raid Smith has planned. I'll be part of the assault on the main gates so I'm looking for something that might be used as a ram of sorts. Do you have anything like that in stock?"

OOC: I'll purchase a portable ram (4gp, 35 lb) if he has one in stock. Seems like a niche item though.

"It's not hoarding as long as your stuff is cool, right?" he chuckles as he makes the exchange.

Hefting the big chunk of metal he grunts and nods a farewell to the shopkeep before going on his way.

------> From Town Hall to Jessop's Goods

After asking a passerby, Bloodhowl found Jessop's and proceeded to enter returning any greeting with a equal one.  Looking around before making her way to the counter so as to not get in anyone's way.  So far since coming here no one had given her a hard time based on her ancestry, but it was definitely something that she was trying to show differently.

"Do you sell larger canvas tents?, something that I could set up out side the city."

Canvas Bell tent 3-4 person size
Spikes Iron(10)
Bedroll
Blanket
Druidic Focus - Totem(Bear Carving)if Available
Oil Flask(qty. 5)

Seeing Cael and Prina, Bloodhowl gives a respectful bow of her head towards them and will wait till they are done their transaction with the store owner.  Perhaps there was something to be learned from them on how to do things.  The All Mother had instructed her to learn from the weaker folks, perhaps something could be brought back to her people.

They both nodded their heads to Bloodhowl before lifting the haul onto the counter in front of Jessop. They each greeted him, then proceeded to business. After they exchanged the goods for the gold they turned back to Bloodhowl and proceeded to give her her share.  They then assure Bloodhowl that they would get Avreene her share as well. Then Cael and Prina set out on their way to the Inn.

"Not a problem." He pulls out each of the listed items saving the tent for last then brings it out presenting it. "I have a 4-person tent which is lighter than if you were carrying 2 2-person tents, but it does cost a little more if that's alright."

The 4-person tent weighs 30lbs and costs 5gp.

Thanking Cael and Prina, Bloodhowl takes the money and thanks them again for their support and asks them to send well wishes to Avreene and that she will stop by later to see how she is doing.

Once gone she continues her business with Jessop.

"I will have to think on this a bit more, I may have been hasty in some of my thinking."

A battle was going on in her head and it was no doubt showing on her face.  Catching herself she gives a polite nod to Jessop.

"I apologize for taking your time good sir."

Walking out of the store she pauses for a few minutes frustrated at herself and then goes for a walk around the town.

Shopping at Jessop's Goods

It was several days after the assault on Burning Stag.
Santio entered Jessop's Goods.
"Please, are you still paying for Pelts?" he asked.

He felt the need to wander the woodlands again ... and also get away for the 'rat race' of town.

quote:
Pelts Wanted.
Pelts of all types are wanted. Prices vary based on size of pelt. Other non-perishable critter parts appreciated as well. Look for me at my shop to get paid.

Doing some hunting, out in the wilderness, would clear his head of everything that had happened in the last few days ... all the bloodshed and animosity.  And it would help keep the community safe, if there was an abundance of predators prowling the periphery.

Santio nodded to the man, and with a slight bow, left the store.

If Santio is going bush for a while, coming and going into/from town as suits him, as he hunts and pelts ... how do we do this, please?
Do we role-play it?  or do we simply attribute DU to this?
I remember you had some discussions with Tidelan about it some time ago

Shopping at Jessop's Goods

With his not shiny but completely new apparel and a bag that held everything he could think of and more, Nutcracker took what coin he had left and decided to fill the bag with some more handy resources for time spent in the wilderness. The woods could provide many things, but civilization had its points well made with some of the provisions. He had been here before to unload some items he didn't see as necessary, but now he had a little more experience (and capacity) driving him and his corvid culture.

After some shopping through the bins and tables, Nuts came up with a good pile of supplies:
Block and Tackle - 1gp
Bucket - 5cp
Healer's Kit - 5gp
Lantern, Bullseye - 10gp
Oil (flask) 1sp x3 - 3sp
Rations 5sp/day x10 - 5gp
Sack x5 - 5cp
Shovel - 2gp
Spikes, Iron (10) - 1gp
Tinderbox - 5sp
Total: 24gp 9sp

Santio:
Santio nodded to the man, and with a slight bow, left the store.

The next day, Santio returned, with the harvested (rolled 11 using 1d20+5.  Wisdom/Survival roll to harvest pelt. pelt from the Black Bear he'd hunted during the night.
He knew the pelt was was not in the best condition, and in truth was glad for the learning experience more so than the financial return, so he didn't expect Jessop to offer much ... nor did Santio intend to haggle for more.

He did  purchase a tent to add to the bottom of his travelling pack.   He intended to travel a little further tomorrow, when he next intended to go out.
On that note, he asked Jessop if there were "any particular pelts you seek ... and any advice* on where to go to find beasts?"
        * maybe worth a +1 or so on the hunting roll if I take the advice?

Re: Shopping at Jessop's Goods

And so, several days later, Santio returned.
He came in from the wilds, with the pelt of a White Tiger:   killed and skinned with almost perfect precision.

"I've gotta go escort someone through to Swift River Village tomorrow.
But when I get back, maybe there'll be more for me to do here?
"

Taking his coins for the sale of the pelt, Santio bid the merchant a good day.
