Tusk waves to Tiria and Irsoneic as they enter. After listening to their questions, he discreetly points at the map on the counter.
"We are going to be heading toward the Pillar of the World, I think. It sounds like that's his last-known destination."

Tiria moves to look at the map, nodding with a look of concentration on her face as though she is memorising the details.

With a short tutting noise she looks up, "If this map is accurate I can get us there no problems, either by sun or by stars."

She gestures with a tilt of her head to a particular corner of the store, "It'll be a pretty cold journey exposed to the elements so if you haven't got warm clothes, blankets and a tent you might want to pick those up while we're here."

OOC: Tiria has the Wanderer feature from her background so is pretty good with maps and can scavenge for food and water each day as needed.

Izayah glanced at the new arrival talking about the travel. He grinned at her. "You good at navigatin' also?" He lightly thumped his own chest. "Izayah Hamadrell, Ranger, at your service, ma'am."

He smiled at both the newer arrivals. "The more the merrier, I always say. Yer welcome t'travel with us an' we'll all share equally in the danger, fun an' reward hopefully." He chuckled.

He gave a nod to Jessop. "Anyone need anythin'? Or we good t'head out?"

Well-prepared for inclement weather due to his years living on campaign, Tusk waits patiently for his companions to stock up on warm clothes and blankets.

"Aye, you can find all manner of cold-weather gear here. Although you may struggle to get it over all of your existing layers..."

"Now...we are confuse. We don't live in cold place. We should wear two like this?" He asks, holding up the two layers of traveling clothes he's already wearing, "Or we should wear the one the cold places? Or we wear...one this, and one the cold?"

-10g for the cold weather clothes
-3g for living expenses because I forgot to do that before coming here

"Definitely one of each. You do know how to make a fire, right? I'd also buy a bedroll or heavy blanket if you don't have one."

Tusk
looks over his companion with concern, wondering what he's gotten himself into.

Izayah watched the back and forth, fairly confusing, conversation between Tusk and the lizardman. He found it a little amusing and didn't bother to interrupt or interject for the moment. He put one hand up to his face as if he was thinking, but really he was trying to hide a smile.

Irsoneic looked at Tusk like he was crazy, "Of course we know how to make fires. We like our meat to sizzle too, you know? We don't like this cold. Not sure how we are...how we are work...bah, cold is dumb!" He flailed his hands a bit at the end, not quite certain how to describe that he had no idea what to do, or how to do it, when it came to cold weather protection.

Tiria raises an eyebrow at the exchange between the two and purses her lips briefly before her expression suddenly shifts to a happier expression and she turns to Jessop, "Pillar of the World sounds like either a name for an impressive mountain or perhaps it is irony for a small hill... Did this Finnious guy take any climbing equipment with him?"

Tusk pauses for a good, long moment before responding.

"Look, I don't know what you do -- or don't -- know. I'm just asking because building a fire is a useful way to stay warm, and there's no sense anyone freezing to death on this trip.

"Wearing so many clothes that you look stuffed like a sausage... not saying you are... reduces how much they help. Sometimes less is more, you know? A heavy cloak or tunic will help keep you warmer, generally, but if you put it on and it feels like it's squeezing you, or you're fighting against it to move, then you're wearing too much."

Izayah waited for people to buy things, and grabbed a few things himself. To be fair, he'd much rather people be overprepared than underprepared - except if he had to help them carry things. Or if he had to pull them up over the lip of a cliff or something.

He thought about it and nodded at the lizardfolk. "Sure. Why not. It'll come in handy at some point, if not this mission." He went and grabbed a climber's kit for himself as well, setting down the twenty-five gold pieces on the counter for Jessop.

After getting it settled along with his pack he asked, "Alright. Everyone ready or should we meet at the town gates in ten?"

OOC: Sure, why not, buy a climber's kit also.

Shopping at Jessop's Goods

The man slowly drags the chest in to the shop, making a lot of noise both by the scraping and dragging noise, but also the grunts and straining he makes in the mighty effort. He takes a moment to pant and sweat after he gets the chest over the threshold. He eyes the distance to the counter from the door for a moment, making a noise of unhappy frustration yet also determination even as he gasps for air like a fish on land.

He takes in a deep breath, gets behind the chest and slowly slides it across the floor, the sounds it makes as he does so is slightly horrific to behold. Once at the counter, bodily shaking from the trip and herculean effort, he takes a moment to catch his breath again, leaning against the counter for strength. "I have...heard...you buy things?" He awaits confirmation and then gives a nod. "Very well."

He opens the chest and slowly begins to set things on the counter, one at a a time, arms seemingly barely having the strength left to do so after dragging and pushing the chest for so long. He sways dangerously several times during the process, almost tipping over at least once. He sets on to the counter a hammer, a set of manacles, a crowbar, and a flask of oil. He pauses, hesitating for a long while, staring at a flask of clear liquid, knowing it has value both in hand and as coin. But he is unsure of what things will cost in this new place, so he reluctantly sets it too on the counter.

He then reaches in to the chest, moving the remainder of things inside the chest instead to a pack that is also in the chest. Then he pulls it out of the chest, hesitates, looking like he really doesn't want to do it, but slides the pack on to his back, wincing a bit as he does so. He then bemusedly shakes his head, looking down at the container on the floor. "Also, the chest itself as well, slightly used." He tries to chuckle, but it quickly becomes a cough that wracks his entire body for a long moment, bent in half, one hand on the counter for support. He gasps for air a moment and then calms himself slowly.

"My apologies. Thank you for your business."

He pushes himself away from the counter and straightens, his back make a light cracking noise as he does so. He stretches a little bit, this way and that, feeling the newfound freedom, relishing the feeling of discomfort and pain even so. He then turns and walks slowly out of the shop, swaying a bit, but immensely less burdened.

Shopping at Jessop's Goods

Having finished his days of hunting for the tribe and returning through the portal, Nutcracker brought in his hail of pelts for Jessop as the board said he was requesting. Onto the counter flopped the skins of a giant elk, a giant boar, a regular boar, and a strange white and black striped pelt. Off to the side was the other bits of the strange hide's former owner just in case anything was of use: a large pouch of teeth, a string of claws, and some nasty looking long spikes. "Merchant I have come to trade," came a gruff baritone that didn't seem suited to the birdman - something definitely picked up in a port somewhere else.
