Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
The next morning Azu woke up bright and early. She went down and found Sai, and in her typical mostly not sane fashion, she sat in his lap. ”I missed you last night. Why didn’t you come to my room?” She nuzzled his neck, ”You smell nice this morning. Did you bath? Not that you smelled bad before, but now you smell really good.”

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
Having gotten another nice rest in the wilds, Hoot ventures back into town to find his friends and go on more adventures. What he sees in the inn's common room shocks him.

Another owl! The excitement banishes the last of his sleepiness. This tribe must have secret owl taming techniques. Hoot excitedly coos and caws over the bird perched on Sai's shoulder, "You have such beautiful feathers. What's your name?"

Turning to Sai for an answer, he absentmindedly notes that Azu also is perching on Sai for some reason.

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
"Ah," Sai replies to Azu, his tone taking on a playfully formal tone, seemingly unfazed by her choice of seat. "I'm afraid another lovely lady had my attention last night." He motions to the owl, who gives an unimpressed glance before grabbing another bit of biscuit and perching on Azu.

As Hoot exclaims over the new arrival, Sai intones, "Of course! Where are my manners? This is Screech." He follows in a stage whisper, "You'll never guess why I gave her that name," as the tiny owl hops back down to a now-empty plate and lets out an impressive shriek, presumably at the lack of biscuits.

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
In response, Hoot mimics his own titular owl call sparking a brief screeching match right over Azu's head. So many new owl noises! Hoot has a great first impression of Screech, and he bobs in approval to Sai. Screech is also a very fitting name.

In fact, the way Screech and Whisper are named stirs up vague memories of a culture from when Hoot was very young and not on his own. Maybe he was raised by giant owls? It's a very nice thought, and it kindles a desire within Hoot to go discover his roots.

For today he has other plans though. He hopes to convince the group not to do their tribal patrol ritual today and go exploring on the beach instead! He starts with Azu's song and mimics different voices from there. "If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise: partying on the beach, four other sahuagin, myyyy pet is aaaa craaaab." Hoot can't convey his excitement vocally, and in fact his mimiced snippets carry vastly different tones. However, Hoot's enthusiasm shines through in his body language, bobbing his head and rocking onto his talons as he speaks. "Let's go meet destiny and see what she has in store for us."

Azu grinned and patted the owl on her head. ”Screech. You are very lovely. Aptly named as well.” Then she clapped excitedly at Hoot, ”I agree. ADVENTURES!”

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
Getting a full rest after last night's patrol certainly helped Alban recover from the ordeal.  I will definitely have to handle situations like that better or face more dire consequences. That was too close to meeting Death... Nodding grimly to himself.  Alban gets dressed and cleans himself; going through his morning routine.  Getting out his spellbook and studying the magical symbols contained within.

Packing up all of his stuff Alban makes his way down to the common room to find his companions. As he enters the room Alban shakes his head in amusement and smiles at the shenanigans going on between Sai, Azu, and Hoot. Never a dull moment with those three. He finds some food and drink and takes a seat at his friends' table and begins to eat; listening to Hoot talk with the others.

Enialis appears back in the Frosthide Inn,"Hello their, I require lodgings and a place to practice scroll crafting." he says, feeding his familiar, Fion the Hawk, some jerky,"Oh, and theirs this Sergeant that owes me gold. So tell him I'm around here if he wishes to pay me."

Sai notices Alban approaching and offers a slightly apologetic grin. "Ah, Alban, you're just in time.  It sounds like these two are interested in exploring the coastline a bit." He glances out a window and mutters, "Not the usual weather for a beach day, but it might be profitable, at least." Smiling innocently at Azu still on his lap, Sai follows cheerfully, "Count me in!"

Azu cuddled closer to Sai. He was so warm and snuggly. She sighed as she wished he had given her attention last night, but the owl was nice.

Xannan has returned from the Scout a Watchtower job,
and is too late to join the group investigating the Anonymous Note.

Xannan will (use his downtime unit to) visit The Frosthide Inn,
ordering a hearty meal and room for the night.

Though he feels strong (level up), he knows he must rest (long rest),
before perusing the job board again on the next day.

“Well, Sai. Exploring the coastline for any clues may be fruitful in figuring out why more water folk are straying more north out of the sea. We may even discover more resources for us and settlement to use.  It would be a good opportunity to learn more about the wilderness in the area. How long were you thinking of staying out there?  It’s near midday now.  We would need to head out soon.””

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
Hoot is distracted a bit by Enialis and Fion, and he softly copies some hawk sounds. Hawks are cool if not quite as awesome as the silent, nocturnal owls.

In response to Alban, Hoot flaps his arms to gesture outside. "Let us take our leave while the sun is bright. Now, come on! ADVENTURE!" He'll wait for people to finish eating though. He foraged up some breakfast already.

Darla took the money from the incoming adventurers, and also directed them to the cafeteria for breakfast. She let Enialis know that there are writing desks in each room, with ink, quills and candles, though he must provide his own parchment, and he'll be charged if he leaves the inkpot open and it dries out.

Enialis gives a nod to Darla, he leaves the inn and buys a few materials for his scroll crafting. Once in his room, he begins writing down the arcane symbols of fog cloud and takes a break from his previous venture.

Using 1 Downtime Unit to create a 1st lvl spell scroll, cost is 25 GP.
Enialis has crafted a Scroll of Fog Cloud.
He'll also take a long rest.

Looking around the table at his companions Alban says, "If everyone is ready, then let's go."  Grabbing his backpack and settling it on his back Alban gets up from the table and starts walking out towards the door.

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
Jankar, who had been taking a stroll through the Gambit on a whim armored and ready, was surprised when he saw the three goblins emerge from in front of the Inn! They were too fast for him to strike, though, so he ran into the establishment. "Goblins! Where did they come from? Did they hurt anyone?" he inquired, ready to follow them without question.

"Miss innkeeper, are you okay?" Chloe's eyes narrow. "Or more importantly ... did they take anything?" She whirls around and fixates the spot the goblins disappeared into so as to not forget where they went.

From behind the safety of the wagon, Julius' head appears. "They are gone, right?"

"I'm afraid so," replies Chloe. "Maybe I'm wrong but they looked a tad like those who harrassed us earlier." She shakes her head, in a slightly exaggerated fashion. "I sure hope we didn't lead them here. The timing is quite unsettling."

"Well, they didn't take anything from us," says Julius after counting to five. "So since when do you care about other people's -"

"LET'S GO!" Chloe claps her hands. "Somebody help me track these guys down! They are gone for only like a minute."

"They took a ham, a boar roast, and one of them was trying to lift a barrel of ale, but it was too heavy, so he grabbed a cook pot, instead," said Darla.

Chloe can see a group already gathered at the town entrance talking to the guards.

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
When Jankar noticed that he wasn't the only one who wanted to do something about the goblins, he looked over to the girl and sized her up for a moment. But it was her words that struck him the most. "Looks like people are already grouping up at the gate. If you want to help, I suggest you come along." With that, the former military man would make his way over to the gate to talk to the group and the guards, though he was fully prepared to go after the goblins while their tracks were still fresh.

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn
The group had already left. The guards said they went to follow goblin tracks, and the girl went after them. You can see them in the light they carry, not too far ahead.

OOC: Chloe joined a patrol group already in progress. You can join them (with the light sources they're walking around with, you won't even have to try to track them,) but a 6-on-3 fight against goblins probably won't be very fun or rewarding, especially at your level.
