Odilon comes in having collected his bounty from the Patrol mission he had wrapped up. He shivered a bit at the cold and looked around for a hearth to heat himself by. Seeing Darla he approached her and smiled.

"Good eve, I wish to procur a room and warm up, been on Patrol" he reaches down and retrieves the necessary gold and put its it on the counter.

[INN] The Frosthide Inn

Xannan enters the Inn after returning from the Perimeter Patrol mission.
He feels tired and sore, particularly in his leg that was chewed upon by an unfriendly wolf while on patrol.

Appreciating the warmth of the Inn, Xannan speaks to Darla.
"It's nice to get in out of the cold. I'd like a room, evening meal and morning meal, please."

(After paying, Xannan will sit as close to the fireplace as possible and quietly eat his evening meal.)

The gruff soldier entered the establishment with a look of fatigue on him. He hadn't had a decent rest in a while but now that the Inn was up and running, he knew he could find that here. He approached the counter with a half-smile, lugging all of his belongings with him. Not that he had much - he was used to living simple thanks to his expeditions in the military. "A room, please. I'll keep an ear open for when the meals are ready," he said politely, his eyes scanning the establishment soon after quickly though it felt like a calm and quiet place to be for the time being. He had to get himself going here if he wanted that nice little cabin he pictured in his head when he closed his eyes and rested.

"Did a charm school open up and nobody told me? Perhaps good manners are contagious... Anyway, that'll be 3 gp each, thank you, here's your keys. Your rooms will be down that hall, the number's on the tag. When you hear the bell, meals are ready, cafeteria's right over there. Feel free to warm yourselves by the fire in there even if it ain't mealtime, if you feel the room's too stuffy, or just don't wanna use up the firewood." She gives you each a key, marked 103, 104, and 105 respective to the order you came in.

Jankar took the key from the woman and nodded politely, staring down at the number he had gotten. 105 seemed like a good one, and he looked back up and gave the woman another quick smile. "It's always nice to hear people are being civil. Thank you, ma'am." He made his way towards his room immediately. He was ready to take off his armor and write down a task that he hoped others would want to embark on. It was a risk but he was used to taking risks for the sake of others. He didn't see a reason to stop now, especially when this seemed to be a charming little town that could only get bigger from here.

Once he receives his key, he makes his way to his room with a slight limp.

Alban enters the inn at the break of dawn; weary from his night patrol.  It had been an interesting night. He reflected on the night's activities.  The team worked well together.  It was a good start.

He walks up to the front desk; trying to get the attention of the innkeeper.  "Madame, I will need a meal and a room this morning to rest, please.  I plan to have a busy night later outside the wall."  Grabbing a room key and a plate of food from the common room kitchen Alban makes his way up to his room.  Taking off his backpack and finish eating his food he climbs into the bed, pulls the covers over himself, and falls asleep quickly.

Alban will take a long rest and level up to 2nd level.

Elisar pushed open the door of the Inn and stepped inside. As he crossed the threshold he looked around, soaking in the environment of the first solid building he had been inside in a week.

What do I see? I want to get a feel for the room, the atmosphere, the staff, the customers, etc.

The lobby of the inn is warm. From the nearby cafeteria, you smell fresh bread, and some sort of venison stew. There are a few plush couches on either side of the door you came in, and a fireplace on the wall to your left. A hallway next to the desk has many doors, and a stairway just inside. There is a desk, behind which stands a woman, who greets you warmly, "Hello there! New in town, eh? I'm Darla, and this is my inn!"

The warmth of the fire immediately began to warm his chilled bones, and a moment later the aromas of bread and stew made his mouth water and stomach grumble. He regarded Darla. A fine looking woman, this town shows promise! he thought to himself.

He removed his dark red hat and bowed with a grand flourish. Flashing her a warm smile he exclaimed, “Well met, good lady Darla. I am Elisar the Moonraven, Teller of Tales and Singer of Songs, here to delight your patrons, and maybe encourage them to empty their purses for their beautiful hostess.”

He moved towards the fire, rubbing his hands together to warm them through. “I was wondering if you would be wIlling to offer this travelling minstrel a warm supper, a drop of wine and a soft bed in exchange for the finest songs and tallest tales? You shan’t be disappointed, I promise you that.”

For a brief moment he considered offering her a private audition, but cautioned against it. He didn’t want to push his luck, and besides, he hadn’t had a bath yet.

She smiles, and says, "That depends on if you're any good! Though, I'm afraid we don't have any wine. Got some good stout ale, though! Perform tonight. If I don't get any complaints, you can keep staying for free as long as you perform every night. Cause any trouble though, and you're out!"

“Most kind milady,” Elisar responded. A bath would be very welcome to wash the road from his body. He could also take the opportunity to beat the dust and grime from his clothing.

While he waited he retrieved his flute from his pack. He paused a moment, deciding what to play. Finally he decided, and put the instrument to his lips. Seconds later a gentle tune wafted through the inn. It had no name, but had a calming lilt that would soothe the worried heart.

Though he played as if he had not a care in the world, he watched carefully as the staff and customers went about their day, trying to get a feel for the folk of this new town.

As Elisar sat and waited he would watch the people each mostly keeping to themselves. The staff went about their business sweeping, tidying, and keeping the place neat. Darla stood behind a counter greeting the people that would come in. The people that came and those already there mostly gravitated towards the cafeteria area. Those who already had their food sat at the tables talking and making merry as they enjoyed their meal. Those who hadn't yet, made their way to the serving area to receive their trays. It seemed that here there were people of all kinds each with their own style of clothes and gear. The staff seemed mostly made up of women, though in the serving area some men could be seen helping out. After a while, as promised a girl came to lead Elisar to the room with the bath. She then went on her way back to work and left him in peace.

Elisa dutifully followed the serving girl towards the bathroom. As he did so he attempted small talk, but the girl seemed shy. She was a homely girl, pretty enough in her own way without any outstanding features. He quickly gave up talking, except to thank her for showing him the way.

Once in the bathing room he closed the door and slid the latch, giving him some privacy. The room was simple, with a wooden tub in the centre and a table close by with a jug and some scrubbing soap. He picked up the soap and sniffed. It was plain and unperfumed, but should suffice to wash the dirt from his body.

He hand dropped to the water in the tub. Darla had promised a warm bath, and she had been true to her word. The water was hot, freshly boiled and inviting. Slowly he removed his travelling gear, stacking it in the corner of the room with his weapons, save for his dagger which he laid unsheathed on the table; you could never be too careful and he didn’t want to fight with just his manhood in hand should some villain attempt a bit of larceny as he soaked his bones.

He took off his clothes, beating the dust and dirt from the outer layers before removing his smallclothes which he also placed on the table. Once naked he lowered himself into the tub, allowing the heat to infuse his aching limbs. Slowly he sat until the water sat just below his chest. With that he sighed and relaxed, closing his eyes.

After a while the water felt distinctly cooler, and he decided it was time to conclude affairs. He reached for the soap and began to scrub all over, from his hair down to the gaps in his toes. Soon all parts felt cleaner than they had in more than a week. He grabbed the hog and used it to slosh water over his hair and shoulders, rinsing off any remnants of soap.

Once done he stepped out and shook his body, allowing the beads of drop to the floor. He then proceeded to scrub out his smallclothes in the bath water, wringing them through to remove as much water as he could. They could dry later when he had a fire to set them next to, or at least a chair to hang them on.

Finally he was done. He put on fresh clothing and straightened his gear. Before departing he pulled two copper pennies from his purse and laid them on the table for the serving girl who would have the sorry job of scrubbing out the bath.

Heading downstairs he went back to reception, seeking out Darla. When her found her he performed a twirl. “There, how do I look? It is so good to feel clean again, thank you!” After she responded he continued, “now, time to explore this town and drum up some trade before this evening’s festivities!”

With that he straightened his hat and headed out into the town.

He asked hesitantly, "You serve alcohol here? Or know where it's served?"

Darla smiled, "Oh the cartographer! She's a sweetheart. Glad she was able to find good help. As for alcohol, we provide a tankard of ale with each meal. Can't offer more than that, or we might not have enough for everyone. Jessop might have something though. Do you need a room?"

OOC: Note that even if you sleep in your own home, your lifestyle expense for a day covers meals at the inn if you want them.

Elisar returned to the inn and located Darla. “Well, I think we have some interest out there, hopefully a few extra customers tonight! Now, any chance of a hot meal? I’m famished.” He smiled sweetly, applying a healthy dose of charm in the hope of a decent meal and the promised jug of ale.

As he waited he settled down in the dining area, happy to chat to anyone there who might appreciate some good company.

OOC - not sure which PCs are currently in the dining room, but anyone who wants to join me for a meal is most welcome, just pull up a chair!

Darla:
Elisar noticed quite a few people were coming in. Darla said to him, "Supper will be served soon. I've given the okay for you to join the staff for dinner in the kitchen, so you can start playing as soon as they start serving the customers. Go on back."

“Most kind,” he replied. He was happy to socialise in the public area until one of the staff fetched him for his supper.

He gave a shrug. "I guess I'll have a meal an' some ale then."
