[INN] The Frosthide Inn

A frail and frozen looking half elf walks in and throws off his hood to reveal Wendel's beady green eyes and short cropped dusty brown hair. He carries a lot and it certainly looks like its weighing him down. He scans the room like he's looking for someone amongst the various someones present. For a moment he pauses as he sees a dwarven fellow half expecting it to be Gemeye but when he realizes it is not he continues. Walking up to whoever looks in charge he exchanges a few words, learns which room his sister had taken up residence in and then goes to meet her. Giving her most of the gold he earned on this last job and discussing with her some of the things he'd like to get done now that they had coin to do it he leaves without much but his backpack, dagger tucked into his belt, and odd ring on his hand besides the usual accoutrement like a waterskin.

He was here and gone, seemingly with something on his mind he leaves the Inn as he seeks out the Dragon's Den to meet with his fellow adventurers.

A slender elf makes his way toward the counter, absently twirling a copper through his fingers.  Passing their table, he chimes in, "She's brought me back from the brink of death, so there's that.  And her song about the teddy bears is delightful.  Have her recite it for you some time." With a friendly smile, Sai moves to speak with Darla at the counter.  "I saw your posting on the job board.  Has anyone set out for this relic yet?  If not, I'd be interested to take a look." Sai glances back to the table with Azu and Brohm.  "What say you, mighty leader of the Super Awesome Staggeringly-Amazing Intrepid Team of Destiny?  Up for a bit of adventure?"

Darla says, "Super Awesome... oh! According to Smith, you folks are the ones that found the information leading to the relic. According to the journal one of you turned in, it's where the ne'er-do-wells you fought while the watchtower was being built had gotten attacked by a tiger!" Sai remembers fighting a tiger, and is pretty sure he could find his way back to where he fought it. Perhaps a trail could be picked up from there?

"Ah, brilliant!" Sai replies. "I'm quite familiar with that tiger. I'll be sure to take a look." The elf makes his way back to the table with Azu and Brohm. "I don't believe we've met," Sai says to the dwarf. "I'm called Sai. I can't say exactly how she did it, being mostly dead at the time, but Azu has a way with words. In any case, anyone up for a bit of treasure hunting? I think I know where we can pick up the trail."

Azu's bright fever mad eyes glanced to the lovely Sai. "Hello lovely elf-man. How are you today? Bring you back from dead? Ohhhh you mean the other night? No I think that is a tale best left untold." She winked at Sai. "I think I can help with just about anything, My songs make people do things better. If you need anything done better, let me know I'd love to help."

Then back to Sai, "Adventure you say? I am always ready for that. Lead on, lovely man, lead on."

Elisar was feeling refreshed after his last mission. He had spent the last days in the town enjoying his free time and then performing at either the Frosthide Inn or the Dragons Den. He had even tried a few experimental pieces outside, when the weather allowed. So far they seemed to have gone down quite well.

Then he passed the job board and saw a new note, something about a missing friend. He was heading back to the Frosthide anyway so he thought he would check it out. Entering the building he spied Darla and scurried over. “Miss Darla, I am looking for a chap named Honeywhisper who may be a guest here. Can you point me in his direction?” When she pointed him out he strode towards him and introduced himself with a flourish.

“Good day to you sir! Tis I, Elisar, called the Moonraven! A humble teller of tales and singer of songs. Word is that you are seeking an old friend, and I was wondering if I could be of assistance?”

[INN] The Frosthide Inn

(Intro)

Walter had been standing by the bar for a bit, waiting to be served. Seeing others get their turn before him but had clearly arrived after puzzled him. Then it dawned on him "oh" he breathed. No one could accuse young Walter of being quick of wits, so when he realised that no one could see him on account of his short stature, he started looking around for something to help alleviate his disadvantage.

With a great deal of effort, the green-skinned little man pulled a footstool closer to the bar and stepped upon it, barely cresting the height of the counter with his eyes. He stood on his tippy toes and smiled sweetly.

"Hullo there, I'm Walter. Well, I'm probably not, but it's a funny-sounding name, so I think I'll use it for a bit."

His head turned this way and that, taking in all the new and wondrous sights the new perch had to offer. "Could I have one of those that goes all foamy at the top?"

Walter accepted the huge mug of beer with gratitude, and after some discussion, or rather a brief introduction to how the monetary system worked, Walter pulled some coin from a pouch and deposited it on the counter.

"That means I can sleep in here as well?!" He exclaimed wide-eyed as he saw the metal slide across into the till. "That's fantastic!"

The little green one enjoyed the taste of his beer, watching people go about their business with the eyes of someone who had never seen such things before.

People seemed to enjoy themselves here. They were drinking and chatting. Walter wanted to know what people did around here, and after a while, he turned back to the innkeeper. "So people take jobs and go on patrol here?" His eyes wide as saucers with the anticipation of adventure, the possibility of seeing new things.

"Well, that sounds like great fun!" He exclaimed as he hopped off the stool and made for the door.

Knocking the snow from his boots, he approaches Darla at the counter, casually looking around the room as he addresses her.

Izayah walked in to the Frosthide Inn. It was his second time ever being inside the establishment. He stayed there once, near when he first arrived - but ever since then he'd mostly been outside the town or, very rarely, in his small cozy cabin.

He looked around and spotted Elisar. He smiled ruefully and shook his head. He heard someone he hadn't met before asking about the same person he was there looking for so he walked up beside them and said, "Howdy. I'm here 'bout that job too. I'm Izayah Hamadrell. Pleased t'meetcha."

He nodded at Elisar. "Hey buddy."

"...and fair Denore was laid to rest

But lo, Sir Bon would never leave
the side of fair Denore!"

Carlton finished "The Ballad of Bon and Denore" and turned to face those who approached him. "I'm parched, lets have a drink, while we discuss this. Darla, my Queen, may I please share some of my profits with these fine folks in the form of some of Chef's illustrious brown?"

Darla sees how peaceful the cafeteria is after his mournful song and says, "If that's how you want to spend your money, and your break, fine. This time. But this isn't a tavern!"

Carlton goes to the counter, and brings four pints to the table, one for himself and one for each of his guests. "On me," He says. He takes a swig and then begins to speak, "A dear friend of mine, Finnious Finestar, said to me, that he was going to come to Smith's Gambit, to seek inspiration from the Rimewood. He sings about nature, you see. I decided to make the trip, see how he's getting on, but I can find no trace of him. Darla said he checked in here, paid up for a week, but he hasn't been to his room in days! He's pretty capable of handling himself alone in the wilderness, or at least he was, in his prime, but that was 20 years ago!"

Re: [INN] The Frosthide Inn

Izayah nodded to the idea of getting a drink together. He glanced at Darla and smiled at her insistence this wasn't a tavern. It had a performer and served drinks - regardless of whether rooms were for rent or not, that seemed like a tavern to him!

He sobered, however, as he listened to Carlton tell his tale. He frowned and shook his head. "I been here a while, but I'm out travelin' most o'the time. Can't say s'I ever met 'em."

He stroked his chin a moment. "An' nobody heard tell where he was off to, or saw him leave or anythin'?"
