You find some hardy brush just within the southern perimeter, before the beach, where you feel you may be able to conceal your campsite. If you'd prefer to sleep outside the perimeter, the landscape is dotted with similar clusters of vegetation.

I'll stay within the borders, I think.

Edit: Should I make a survival check to see if I can hide my campsite

I would say a stealth check, for that. If you build a campfire, though, you have to douse it to be hidden.

Tidelan's Campsite.

You light a campfire to settle down for the night. Not long after you fall asleep, while the embers of your fire still burn, you hear rustling coming from the direction of your pack. In the dim light, you see a rat the size of a dog, and four smaller rats. Judging by the sounds, there are more rats in the darkness.

Tidelan's Campsite.

You fire an exploding shard of ice at one of the small rats, so the blast could pontentially hit every rat you can see. You hit your target, then deftly avoid the blast! Some of the rats aren't so lucky. You turn into a bear, and the remaining smaller rat flees. You may make an opportunity attack if you wish.

The larger rat is joined by three more who you hadn't seen hiding in the brush, they each dig their sharp teeth into your fur, doing a total of 19 piercing damage! 3 of the four giant rats look seriously injured by your spell.

Your bite misses, but your claw destroys the rat it reaches for
The three remaining rats bite at you! Two of them manage to penetrate your hide, dealing a total of 10 piercing damage.
Your enhanced sense of smell notices that two of the small rats that you didn't notice before still wait in the darkness, perhaps hoping to join the feast if the big ones kill you.

Once again, your claws succeed where your teeth fail. Perhaps you instinctively don't want to know what giant rat tastes like?

The two remaining rats bite deeply into bear-flesh, the first dealing 4 damage, the second, 6. You return to your human form, which takes the leftover 5 damage.

The little rats, thinking the tide has changed in their favor, rush in to bite you! one misses, but the other two critically hit... for a total of 4 damage.

Tidelan reforms, catching himself hunched over and growling. He feels weak for a moment before his shape returns to the form of a bear. He then runs on all fours backwards 40 feet and throws an ice knife at [G6]

Ok so i cant roll dice well on the phone

First i did:

21:37, Today: Tidelan Wavyrus rolled 25,3,10 using 1d20+5,1d10,2d6.  Ice knife number 2.

Then i meant to roll 1d10 but rolled everything again.

21:37, Today: Tidelan Wavyrus rolled 22,10,3 using 1d20+5,1d10,2d6.  Critical ice double die.

You can ignore everything but the d10 because i already rolled.

So: Natural 20 to hit deals 13 piercing and every enemy in 5 foot radius of g6 must succeed on a 13 DEX or take 10 ice dmg.

The rats make opportunity attacks as you move away. Both big rats and two of the little ones hit, totaling 13 damage.

Your ice knife utterly destroys the rat at G6 . The ensuing burst instantly kills both remaining giant rats, and one of the remaining little rats. It also cools the remaining embers in your campfire. You are now in darkness, though with your ursine nose, you can smell your way back to the campfire.

Sniffing around for his pack, the bear genasi puts it over his back and marches back to town. If he can make it there in under an hour, he cancels the bear form before entering so nobody is scared and he isnt thus attacked. otherwise he lets it run out and doesnt exit the wild shape.

You easily make it back to town in under an hour, and can get within 40' of the entrance without causing a panic.

Tidelan's Campsite.

It was after noon when Tidelan arrived back at his old camping site. Upon his arrival, he was joined by three other figures. Two appeared to be dwarven, and another human.

Perhaps they had traveled together, or just congregated here at the moment. Regardless, introductions had been made between them, and they were seemingly all on the same page.

Tidelan circled his camp a few times, giving off an odd air... like one of a stalking predator waiting to pounce... or perhaps a domestic cat getting ready to lay down...

Regardless, after two circular motions around the uneven perimeter of the campsite, he seemed to drop the behavior and huffed.

He spoke up then, "I do not know where you many will choose to stay, but I want to move my camp more south. The beach is too far, here."

He seemed to think for a minute about his next words, and then spoke up with a bit of hesitance, "When I... did make... this camp, I was... fearing... or, no... I was... hardêgàñâ..." the genasi tried but couldn't find the word he was looking for without saying it in his native tongue.

He continued, unperturbed by his failure to arrive at a suitable word in the language of his traveling companions, "Now, I am more strong. So, I will leave the area of Smith's Gambit... If you many stay, I will be... near."

<Orange>Tidelan is moving his campsite out of the southern perimeter of Smith's Gambit, and onto the beach proper, leaving behind anything but sand and water (and possibly rocks, depending on the terrain of the shoreline, here)

Also, in case anyone cares, hardêgàñâ is pronounced (to the best of my knowledge on how to use IPA): χɑɾdigɑɲʌ (stress is even across the whole word)... the closest way i can think to write this in english would be "HARDeeGONEyuh" (capitalization marks real words).

Sorry, I geeked out here!

Santio, who’d accompanied the dwarfs-twin to this place, simply watched the bluish water demon(?) pace the joint.
When Tidelands suddenly processed to be up and moving, Santio looked to Solva (who seems the self-stylised leader here) to assess her reactions and attentions.

Once all of the hunters had gathered, Solva raises her hand in the air and declares, "Aye want to see a fair hunt out there. Remember, if ye hear somebody screaming go and help them out. Now, let tha hunt be blessed in Balinor's name." She scythes her hand down as she declares the beginning of the hunt and gives everyone a moment to start moving before she runs out.

***

As Solva approaches the camp, she can't seem to notice anyone there. A string of rabbits across her shoulder, she muses, 'I can't believe that worked. Well, I better make it a fine fireball for whoever gets back with the best catch. Can't let it be said that I don't deliver. I should get the fire started even if I won't be cooking, Balinor knows I don't want to suffer in this cold while they go and try and catch an elk.' Solva begins to gather wood and brush to shore up a fire pit with stones and hunkers down. Now, it is time to wait.

Tidelan's Campsite.

As the dwarf named Solva shouted, all were prepared for the hunt to commence. As her words rang across the cold air of the Rimewoods, Tidelan didn't hesitate. He dashed straight into the forest and let out a loud roar that quickly changed into something even more bestial...

However, anyone who would waste time to glance over at him would find that he was no longer occupying his place, and instead all that remained where he once stood was a mighty brown bear moving into the forest at incredible speeds!

By the time Tidelan had returned, so had everyone else who had participated in the contest...

He felt a small tinge of embarrassment flow through his features, though it didn't show on his blue skin... because his blue skin was absent, and replaced with the dark, blood-soaked, fur of a mighty brown bear returning from a grand hunt!

As the bear strode into camp, with much time still left on it's wild shape, it may have been seen as a threat, except it carried along with it the remains of another bear!

It dropped it off near the campfire and made a noise, that was meant to be a lot closer to a happy purr than it came out... which was more of a growl.

It was a wonderful catch. An entire black bear had been shredded apart by the superior ursine life-form... along the way, patches of skin had been torn out along with flesh and meat, in a couple parts leaving the bones exposed... If one had to guess, the shamanic hunter had gotten peckish on the way back. Of course, more than enough of the bear remained to feed a small village, let alone a group of few.

After the whole group had finished eating their catches, and they had shared whatever words they wished about their sizable catches and race-like times of the night's hunt, Tidelan bid everyone a farewell which contained a hint of fondness... it definitely seemed like this had been the ideal way to earn Tidelan's friendship... hunting in the woods was his favorite bonding activity, it seemed.

After saying goodbye to the group, with his stomach full, Tidelan returned to his campsite, which was nearby, but was further south towards the beach, and outside the perimeter of Smith's Gambit... it was also covered in sand and lacked most vegetation.

The ocean waves lured the genasi to sleep, as he sighed with utter satisfaction... except for one thing that still lurked in the back of his mind...

Once the others began returning, with their game catches, Sanrio casually meandered into their midst ...  carrying a huge load of fruits and root vegetables bound up in his cloak.

Here were carrots and potatoes, mangos and berries, with cuttings of various herbs from the nearby setting.

He immediately, and without much discussing, went about helping Solva set up a fireplace ... and as those others prepared the immense amounts of meats brought in, Santio cut and chopped his vegetables, which he prepared as both a salad to side with the cooked meats, and a pot of stew, into which he threw (participants willing) any small bits of meat from their catches that might otherwise have gone to waste.
Any vegetables and fruit that remained uneaten could be easily stored for breakfast, and carried for meals as the days went on.

During it all, Santio had little to say.

Tidelan's Campsite.

Ere leaving Smith's Gambit, Brohm had stopped by the general store and purchased a cook's kit, replacing the one he lost on the trek here.  Having safely secured that in his pack, Brohm made his way to Tiledan's camp.
Brohm arrived back at Tiledan's campsite to see Solva busily making a fire.  Dragging behind him a makeshift sledge, heavy with the body of an elk, and laden too with mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, chives, thyme, sage, and chickory.  A few stout poles were also tied to the sledge, ready for use.  "I see you're first back."  He rumbled to Solva as he trudged into camp.  "Good ta see you've got the fire going."  He finished, as he began to set up a sturdy rack from which to skin the elk.  All told, he could easily feed twelve people fully with the food he had found.
As Tiledan made his way to the camp, in his great bears form, Brohm nodded to him in acknowledgement.  "Nice catch"  He rumbled like falling stone.  "Looks like we're even."  he says, the elk already well into the process of being carefully skinned and harvested.  The only wound visible on the elk as he prepared it was two narrow puncture marks through its ribcage into its heart. Testament to the Stealth and skill of the Dwarf.
"Good haul lad."  The Dwarf rumbled at Sanito, as he worked on the elk.  "Who's fast enough to make it to town, and see that some folk who need to eat make it here.  Seems we have too much to finish unaided."  Brohm rumbles in a voice like grating stone.
