Yikes! That's a terrible situation :(, but I'm glad you and you're home are safe :)
California's seems like such an awesome place, it's a huge shame that it's prone to wildfires (and other natural disasters IIRC)...
quote:
We live in a desert, clear skies are normally one of its few redeeming features.
I giggled at the irony, and then felt sad about it :(
Up here in Ontario, winter is very long, so I understand living for the good weather! (Well, my mom sure does this; I don't really leave my home unless I have to)...
(Not)Fun Fact: It's gotten worse recently, I remember having autumn and spring as a child. But just this year (IIRC) we had snow in April... there's really only two and a half seasons here; Winter, ""spring"" (read: wet and stinky), and half-summer (about a month or two, tops)...
The only bright side for living here is that since it's normally very cold (and because the wet months are fleeting), there are very few insects that I regularly encounter. Which is great for me, as someone who hates 'em!
I often joke (much to my mom's chagrin) that as soon as winter ends, the 'good months' for going outside are over (obviously, it's the opposite), since I will risk seeing a mosquito.
