It is a rising through determination and sacrifice to build something greater than oneself.
Definitely makes for a compelling character progression, since his backstory is filled with loneliness it would be fulfilling to have dim rectify that.
It's also super synergistic with his 'sylvan' theme. I've not actually lore-dumped much about that (even less so IC), since that concept introduces tons of systems of ordering.
I had Tidelan take a Sylvan Oath, which is basically an 'absolute contract'
Lotta other ideas bouncin' 'round the ol' noggin (and written elsewhere for different contexts), but I have to be careful what I impose on this game, since it's the GMs' world after all (though the vast amount of leeway they give us in improvising stuff is awesome).
I can justify a lot of it's existence though as being a nearly straight rip from various celtic folklores, which we all know for a fact WOTC has never had an aversion to doing (magic the gathering players will know especially what I'm talking about), and they've kind of already done with some of the Feywild's lore.

Such a great band live. Good song choice :)
Thanks! I've been really wanting to go to a concert lately, since I've never been to one before. Unfortunately, making mouth noises at unfamiliar flesh blobs will have to wait until we won't risk killing each other to do so.

That just means there's nowhere to go, but up. Maybe he finds JesusHelm? Maybe he falls in love with Erret Smith and settles down to a career of politics?
Or maybe he joins the sahuagin and we team up to hunt him down?
So many possibilities ;)
Funnily enough, I never actually wrote a word about who Larwick's patron is. I don't actually have any ideas/preference either. It would be really funny if it turned out to be some sort of good-aligned entity trying to redeem him as a person.
TBF who wouldn't want to fall in love with Erret Smith? I mean, he's an incredibly compassionate and generous man, and he's also highly capable! Plus, the dude is loaded and got a sweet moustache!
Frankly, I'm so unattached to this character, that having him die would only make me feel bad about not getting to play a high level waradin (i believe this is what you call powergaming oof)
Dying alongside a bunch of evil creatures would certainly be a well-deserved end for him.
By the way, I keep chuckling at the possibility of Victor (a pretty kind fellow who serves a good-aligned (or law-aligned? idk much about Helm) god) encountering another Tiefling and realizing this guy is legitimately every negative stereotype about his people stumbling around on two cloven feet!
