[Quest] Gathering Materials

With no apparent danger present, Sai joins the others. He procures a large bag of salt. "For preservation, if you'd like to use some. Just don't get too close to the body; I'd like to get the hide if I can." Sai joins the other two, pulling two blades from his pack apparently used for skinning and helping with the operation.

My survival isn't great, but I'll roll to see if we can get the hide once the head is detached. Safe to assume someone is willing to help?

22:18, Today: Sai Nightbreeze rolled 16 using 2d20+1, dropping the lowest dice only with rolls of 15,14.  Survival Check, Yeti hide.

Azu watched as the others pealed the pelt off the creature. She hummed a happy tune which was out of place.

The adventurers set about taking apart the yeti's body. Sai focused on taking the hide which he managed to peel the body. Malkus on the other hand, however, went to work trying to cut the neck of the yeti with his daggers. Try as he might he finds that the muscles in the neck are just too thick to cut through with simple daggers. Perhaps if he or someone tried a larger weapon it might work better.

Sai gets 2gp worth of yeti hide.

After much hassle and hacking the head from the yeti finally comes off. By the time Wightvane and Malkus finish removing the head the sun has already began setting. Time to find camp was quick at hand.

"They do not usually travel in groups.". Brohm rumbles in reply to Sai.  As the others skin and behead the yeti, Brohm looks for a concealed and defendable spot at which to make camp.

Having safely arrived at their next stop, Malkus went about the business of setting up camp. He found a nice, flat spot for his tent, and then helped gather some dry wood for a small fire.

Azu danced as the others set up camp. She would just be in the way and probably mes something up. Better to practice her art.

[Quest] Gathering Materials

With camp set up the group enjoyed their time to relax for the day. As night approached it was time for first watch. Malkus took his place at the edge of their camp watching and waiting. though from time to time Malkus would hear the movement of little creatures scurrying about nothing out of the ordinary came. Next up was Wightvane's turn to keep watch and Malkus went to wake him. He too took a position at the edge of the camp where he watched and waited. Same as it was Malkus it was for Wightvane as well. He heard the ambience of the forest, but nothing alarming. Time soon came for the last watch which Sai had volunteered for. He was awoken by Wightvane then moved to his spot for the watch. Just as before for the previous two the peaceful ambience of the forest surrounded Sai, but there was no sign of danger. Eventually morning came and brought with it the sun gleaming streaks of light into the once dark sky. Morning had come and a new day with it.

Sai's bedroll is neatly tied and strapped to his pack as the others awaken. "A beautiful morning," he says to the others as they wake. While everyone gets up, Sai asks casually to the group, "Uh, might be a silly question, but... does anyone know exactly how far we have yet to travel?"

Malkus stirs with the sunrise and he efficiently packs his belongings for the day's travels.

He walks next to Sai and quietly answers his question.
"It's three days' journey from the Gambit. I think we'll arrive near the end of the day today, assuming Brohm's manner of leading us doesn't take longer than last time I made this trip."

Brohm takes down his camp, and hides the presence of the camp before they leave.  Then, having heard Malkus' comment, though giving no indication of it, he speaks, his deep gravelly voice low.  "Stay a bowshot back, and follow the trail I leave you.". He has a quick breakfast of chicory and dried meat, then heads off into the wilderness.

Everyone breaks camp for the day. Those who wish it accept Alban's offering of a good berry. Then shortly after that they get underway. With Brohm's warning to stay a "bowshot" back the party follows after him. Traveling carefully though the Rimewood the party eventually sees the  sun reach its peak just in time to be blocked out by clouds. The second half of the day had begun, but the clouds were not looking promising.
