Malkus' home is simple in its styling and utilitarian in its design. Massive, hewn beams span the tops of the rooms, providing support for the roof above. The planks used in the construction of the walls are thick slabs cut from the once-monolithic trees found in the Rimewood.

Beyond the front door, the space opens into a large room that is mostly empty aside from some mats spread out on the floor. From the looks of it, this room can be easily cleared out to provide an area for physical activity when needed.

A doorway at the back of the room leads to another, smaller room that is spartan with a stove, a small table, and a couple of chairs. The space apparently pulls double-duty as a kitchen and an office of sorts. Entering the office / kitchen, a doorway on the left provides a glimpse of a third room containing a fireplace, a bed, and some chests.

Malkus wastes no time stripping from his splint armor, which he cleans and neatly stacks in one corner of the large room. He places his old halberd with it, and then carefully feeds his newer, shinier halberd into his impossibly deep quiver and sets about donning his new plate. After struggling with the hobgoblins' straps and buckles sufficiently, he is satisfied with the fit and heads off into town. Dread pads silently along at his side.
