[EVENT] Assault on Burning Stag: Squad 1

Spark figured he might draw attention not only from the infiltration group but also from his own team members. As such, he moves swiftly, but overtly down the way toward the wall, his reinforced armour making noise as he goes.

Action: Dash 30ft
Move: 30ft and drop prone at C14
Attacks from more than 5ft away have disadvantage

[EVENT] Assault on Burning Stag: Squad 1

Carmen prepares to fire an eldritch blast when a goblin in the left tower reveals itself to fire at her squad.
One of the goblins atop the left tower fires hastily, at Tidelan, but at this range, hits nothing. A goblin in the tower, noticing the engagement, pops out an gets its face blown off by Carmen's blast.
Tidelan rushes forward to take cover behind the first row of barricades, and focuses on remaining arrow-free.
Spark dashes to cover and drops prone behind the second row of barricades.
Malkus dismounts and moves behind cover as his mount retreats a few steps. He summons a glowing gauntlet of force not far from the tower.
Tusk moves forward and takes cover behind the first row of barricades.
The other goblin atop the left tower fires at Carmen, but overshoots in its haste.
The remain goblin inside the left tower pops out to fire, but Victor gets his shield up over his head at just the right angle to harmlessly deflect it.
Two more goblins fire ineffectively at Carmen and Victor.
Victor curses a goblin and fires a blast as he runs behind a barricade, though the blast misses.
The last two goblins fire at Carmen. One hits her (19 to hit) for 3 damage

OOC:I will only be highlighting your names in purple if you take damage or fail a save. Also, for those of you behind the barricades, you have total cover unless you lean out to attack or ready an attack, in which case you have 3/4 cover, just like the goblins.

Carmen takes the hit, then realises she is the main target of all of the enemies attacks! She drops down to the floor prone, then waits to see if one of the goblins pops its head out once more.

09:16, Today: Carmen Diaz rolled 14,8,9,8 using 1d20+7,1d10+4,1d20+7,1d10+4 with rolls of 7,4,2,4.  Eldritch Blast attack and damage E4. – [roll=1635988614.07637.352983]
AC 14 for 8 damage, AC 9 for 8 damage. Hardly amazing this round!

[EVENT] Assault on Burning Stag: Squad 1

Seeing Carmen catch an arrow Victor darts across the open space, with his shield raised, to the barricade ahead and to north then leans out to fire another blast of eldritch energy at the goblin he had cursed up on the wall.

"I should have gotten Wendel to teach me how to add that punch to it!" he calls out to no-one in particular, perhaps trying to draw attention his way.


OOC: Move to E15
Peeking out in order to fire so benefitting from 3/4 rather than full cover.
Action: Eldritch Blast on E1 hits AC 15 for 9 force and 1 necrotic damage.
Bonus Action: If E1 dies, move Hex to a new visible target.

Malkus quickly rises to his feet, and as he does so the floating gauntlet makes a beeline for the closest goblin atop the tower. It directs a savage back-handed slap across the face of the diminutive foe.

Meanwhile, Malkus steps back behind cover.

Spark caught sight of the arrows that started to fly over his head. Seeing one of them impact one of his new friends he was relieved to see she didn't seem mortally wounded just yet.

He refocused his attention on the goblins and attempted to send an errant mote from the Great Forge to strike at one of the archers.

Action: Cast Sacred Flame at a goblin
Dex save: 11 or 7 dmg to one target within 60ft
15:18, Today: Spark rolled 7 using 1d8.  Sacred Flame dmg.

[EVENT] Assault on Burning Stag: Squad 1

Tidelan once again moves closer, risking the rain of arrows.

In truth, he feels strangely helpless now. Maybe it is his Farradi blood kicking in. Wars back home usually started like this, and ended with a field of dead nobodies.

The genasi gritted his teeth as he sprints with his head low. He wasn't a particularly altruistic person, and he didn't have that much sympathy for the weak and fearful who got trampled on... but still, the system back home was... well, it couldn't be much worse.

He keeps telling himself that this won't be like that, the people here are strong. There are real reasons to fight.

Yet, he finds it hard to feel such a thing when he is doing nothing but approaching a wall. Once again, he despairs a little at the fact that his Soul is so far from his reach, despite being so close to his being.

Move: --> E15 (30 ft), should only step out of barrier for 5 ft before tucking back in

Both of Carmen's blasts hit the tower, with no effect she could see from such a distance. She dropped prone.
One of the goblins atop the left tower fires at Carmen, or at least that's where it seemed he might be aiming. It was hard to tell.
Tidelan rushes forward to take cover behind the second row of barricades, and focuses on remaining arrow-free.
Spark summons holy fire upon the goblin remaining inside the left tower, the goblin burns, and falls beside its comrade.
Malkus's flying fist of Helm slaps a goblin so hard it dies, as he runs to cover beside Tidelan. Dread takes cover in the spot Tidelan vacated.
Tusk moves forward and takes cover behind the second row of barricades.
Seeing his allies poor showing at hitting the faraway Carmen, a goblin atop the right tower readies to fire at the next person within 80ft to show their face from behind cover.
A goblin within the right tower fires in the general direction of Carmen before dropping back behind cover.
The goblin's readied arrow strikes the barricade in front of Victor as he blasts the remaining goblin atop the left tower, killing it. He moves his curse to the nearest goblin who just fired at him.
The other goblin atop the right tower readies to shoot at the next target within 80' to leave cover entirely.
The other goblin within the right tower fires at Carmen, but hits a tree about 40' behind her.

Carmen wasn't used to shooting from the floor. She was generally more active and in somebodies face. As a result, the next shots at the hiding goblins just smashed against the wall next to it as it opened up to her attacks.

As he watches the enemies get slaughtered and barely hit their marks, Tidelan seems to be strangely still for a whileunlike his usual countenance of being a furious hurricane of death

Then he can be heard softly muttering in a disinterested voice, which is rarely heard from him, "I am bored" before peeking out of the barrier without hesitation, and manifesting a Cold Iron kitchen knife radiating extreme cold energy from the magic held within the inconceivable leylines of this planet.

Extremely nonchalantly, as if throwing a ball in the park, the barbarian easily lobs the magical projectile the full distance and striking his enemies.

Round 3
Carmen readies to fire from the ground.
One of the goblins atop the left tower fires at Carmen, or at least that's where it seemed he might be aiming. It was hard to tell.
Tidelan lazily tosses a dagger of pure ice into the neck of one of the goblins atop the tower. It explodes, killing the goblin, and wounding its partner.
Spark prepares to call more holy flames upon one of the goblins inside the left tower when it shows its head.
Malkus's flying fist of Helm closes in on the other tower, as he remains behind cover.
Tusk remains in position.
The wounded goblin atop the tower readies to fire at the next of you standing within range to expose yourself.
A goblin within the right tower pops out of cover. Carmen's blasts sail over the top of the tower, and Spark's flames severely wound it.
As Victor fires at the hexed goblin, he is distracted by the arrow that would have struck him in the gut had he not been behind the barricade. Victor's blast still connects, but it wasn't the deathblow he was aiming for. (Victor, please put your AC, Spell Save DC, and Passive Perception in your BIO. Current/Max hp would be nice, as well.)
The other goblin within the right tower fires at Spark, but misses the prone warforged.

My bad, forgot to mention the Cold Damage only applies on a failed DEX save. Haven't cast spells for a while, lol

BTW, do we have any instructions to take down the drawbridge if we clean up early, or are we just waiting out here for the inside men to pull the lever?

Out of curiosity, how many hit points would the structure have? I assume different parts have different ACs and HPs, and i also would think that the wooden drawbridge is weaker than the [presumably?] stone walls?

What I mean is if we have no direct path in, Tidelan could become a siege engine?

Or we can just wait out here, since time is on our side as the ones on the offensive (we have definite supply lines, the enemies would have to fight for theirs)

Victor ducks behind the barricade and then peaks out the other side to send another blast of energy at the goblins atop the wall. "Would stay still!" he yells at them in frustration as the blast goes well high.


OOC: I think if we clear these goblins out fast enough it makes the infiltration squad's job easier so that they can lower the drawbridge for us.

Action: Eldritch Blast on Hexed goblin hits AC 8 for 4 force and 2 necrotic damage.

The floating gauntlet slips through the arrow slot to close in on the goblin, curls into a meaty fist directly above it, and attempts to pound it straight down into the floor.

It seemed to Spark that the group were at least able to keep the attention of the barricaded guards even if it took longer than he would like to kill them off. He speaks another word of Creating and attempts to burn a goblin with his flames.

Action: Cast Sacred Flame on a visible goblin
Dex save DC 11 or take 3 points of radiant damage to a creature within 60ft

[EVENT] Assault on Burning Stag: Squad 1

Round 4
Carmen blasts the only goblin in sight, killing it messily.
Tidelan sees the swiftly flowing, ice cold river in between himself and the drawbridge. Probably best to let the infiltration squad do their thing.
Spark prepares to call even more holy flames upon one of the goblins inside the right tower when it shows its head.
Malkus's flying fist of Helm squeezes through the arrow slit, and slams a goblin into the wall so hard, Spark can almost feel it from where he's standing.
Tusk remains in position.
With no visible targets, Victor holds his action until there is one. (Unless there's something else you'd rather do!)The last goblin pops out of cover, and dodges Sparks spell and Victor's blast, as it tries to fire his shortbow, but the arrow never even leaves the tower. You hear muffled shouts moving down the stairs, and deeper muffled shouts from the bottom, but you cant tell what's being said even if you can speak Goblin.
OOC:I will only be highlighting your names in purple if you take damage or fail a save. Also, for those of you behind the barricades, you have total cover unless you lean out to attack or ready an attack, in which case you have 3/4 cover, just like the goblins.

With just a lone goblin remaining, Carmen waited until she had a moment to strike, unleashing a deadly accurate final bolt.

15:20, Today: Carmen Diaz rolled 26,12,9,10 using 1d20+7,1d10+4,1d20+7,1d10+4 ((19,8,2,6)).

Eldritch Blast Hits AC 26 for 12 damage.
