Ascending Sky
Having arrived in Chiaroscuro for the first time is quite an experience. What are some of the biggest differences between The blessed isle and Chiaroscuro? You have a deep passion and desire to teach but before you can do that you have get settled in this strange place with strange customs and strange people. What is the biggest challenge you have faced in trying to get settled here in the city so far? How have you managed to provide for yourself?  Did you come with enough to get by for a short time or have you had to find work?

My headspace for starting point was he was given enough money to get to chiriscuro and stay in the shadows inn for a week or a month or something so depending on where we want to start he is trying to find a job to cover living somewhere either before or after his time runs out at the inn. I am actually okay with starting at just after he gets thrown out of the inn. Perhaps RP out the scene where Demethea saves him from the thugs.

This is the part where you start to roleplay.  I have set up a little bit of a scene and asked you questions to guide your answers.  Do so in character.

Ascending Sky
Sky sits on the floor of the room in the Shadows Inn. Tomorrow morning his time here is over. Mistress Zia gave him a month and he has wasted it all. This place is so different. There is so much pain and hurt. So much sorrow and so many dangers. There is also freedom and the ability to chose. That ability might be the scariest change for him. A boy who spent his entire life as a member of a dragon-blooded household serving staff. He never had to make an important decision. The correct choice was always clear to him. Now he has to make decision. The current one is gnawing at him, to risk a summon a demon for protection. Bring forth a dangerous threat into the world. Days of indecision leave him wondering if he even can and if he can do anything alone.

He mentally kicks himself and renumbers a concept from the paper on the Sorcery and the biggest dangers, "The Greatest threat to a sorcerer is his own will. Find the core of your mental weakness and correct it." Finally he rises to his feet and walks to the door, "She gave me a month and I've wasted it. Its time to take my first steps on my new life. No more sitting here wondering how to survive I have to do this because I need to know I can. No I know I am capable." With determined look he opens the door and strides into the street. Two weeks ago he found a collapsed building with a basement that would make a good place to call forth a demon.

Having found your resolve, you make your way to the aforementioned building.  It takes a bit of cleaning and preparation, but it is empty and otherwise perfectly suited to your desire task. Do you take any precautions against a random person walking in?  What kind of rituals does the spell require? What kind of components? What kind of demon are you attempting to summon?  Make all appropriate rolls to begin the sorcery.
