Eden - Healing and Spying
Your sleeves are stained with blood, and smears of it mar your face.  You dont know the exact details of what happened, but you have been extremely busy. Having to choose between who needs immediate care, and who doesnt is never an easy task. There are a variety of people that need your help.  Some living comfortably, some with bellies extended from hunger and naught but rags covering their bodies.  Some who have many connections that could be important to you, some who know no one and know nothing. Do you prioritize based purely on medical necessity?  Do you charge for your services?

It has been many hours since you first started, and even thoroughly trained as you are, your back is burning, your head aches, and your eyes are heavy. There are still many more patients to see.  You can feel yourself flush with the power of the Unconquered Sun.  It is like a damn, you are very careful not to open the flood gates, but it calls to you. You want to feel the joy of him coursing through your body.  How easy it would be to let the power infuse you, fuel your body and your mind, aid your hands with his skill and surety.  You are cautious and take great pains not you use too much essence so as not to reveal yourself in the city, what little you have used so far pulses inside with your every heartbeat, threatening to break free and announce yourself to the world.  Do you continue to use more essence to help you save these people and risk revealing yourself by flaring your Anima banner?

Even though we as players have exact knowledge of how much essence we have to spend for each level of anima banner, your character doesnt yet have such a specific understanding.  This applies to everyone btw, so it is always possible that you will flare your Anima banner when spending essence accidentally until after you have more control as an Exalt

Eden - Healing and Spying
Eden took a brief moment for herself. She had always pushed herself more than her peers. When she was a student, she was up all night studying the proper texts to be the best student. In the Legions, she was the first one in the tents and the last one to bed at night. At least, when they were training or marching or at war. But this new practice was more taxing, with this number of people there was never a break.

She took all comers, charging them according to a complex formula based on her treatment, their need, and their capacity to pay. Sometimes, she had to talk to them about the nature of nutrition, both malnutrition and undernourishment, treat the symptoms, without charging them because these lifestyle issues had no immediate fixes. Other times, the diseases that were brought in warranted a treatment beyond what was natural. Those were the times she let a trickle of power flow from her, especially if the treatment would require long term treatment. If she did too much, too quick, like when she saved her sister's life, her guise would become irrelevant and she would need to move on.

Im sorry if wasnt clear before.  Your character is in the middle of an emergency situation.  Some accident has happened and people have been flocking to you for help, in the midst of this emergency situation, how do you deal with having more patients than you will be able to help? There are more people that need emergency care than you can tend to.  Some people are going to die unless you use your essence.  If you dont use your essence in this emergency, and knowing people are going to die, how do you decide who lives and who dies? Do you focus on those who will be able to pay your fees? Do you focus on those who have information or contacts you might be able to use?

Eden - Healing and Spying
The judgement calls that Eden makes during the crisis are careful and considered. Money plays no role in her decisions at all. Those injuries that are serious but not life threatening are set to later. Those that have a negligible survival rate with hours of investment would be lower priority. Those with a reasonable chance of survival with treatment, but would die without would be her highest priority. She would allow her essence to flow modestly treating some injuries in a few moments of effort. She tried to treat folks in a private room hoping that should her anima flare that unconsciousness, pain, and delirium would discount it as hallucination and take the time to allow the glow to fade over fifteen minutes before moving onto the next patient.

Primarily using Instant Treatment Method to reduce hour long treatments to a moment allowing her to see more patients. If her essence ever becomes glowing, she'll pause to go dim holding off on using any more for a while. Eventually, she will run out of Willpower and She'll switch to more spaced out Annointment of Miraculous Health at the end. Once depleted of essence she'll continue to work until she is in a worse state than her patients.

As you are doing the best you can to try and save as many people as possible, you find that by causing your anima to flare, and then having to wait for it to disappear you are suffering the worst of both possible outcomes.  Do you continue to do the worst of both possible outcomes? Use your essence to save more people? Or not use your essence and let random people die?

Eden - Healing and Spying
Withing the first hour, she has done seven hours of work potentially saving seven lives while at least offering herself a chance at having her secret remaining hidden. Sadly, her reserve of will has been fully depleted which powers her healing just as much as her solar essence. She continues to use her essence to hone her natural skill and instinct in treatment to aid the next set of folks.

Sadly, after using her 5 willpower and her one use of Annointment of Miraculous Health, the only charm she has that can treat general trauma and injury is her Excellency unless those wounds qualify as Aggravated.

So are you saying that ultimately you are using more essence or not using more essence?

She is using more Essence, but it's efficacy is lower than the initial burst of expenditure.

Since you continue to use essence, your anima flares brightly, your cast mark clearly visible.  A Shining beacon of the unconquered sun.  Word spreads quickly about the spirit/god of light and healing.  Gain 3 tick on a clock "Unwanted Attention" You are becoming known for your healing throughout many neighborhoods as the days pass, and you are welcomed and known in your neighborhood.

What do you do? What goals is your character looking to accomplish in light of her new success and notoriety in the city?

Eden - Healing and Spying
Over the next few days, Eden will do whatever she can to recover from the extreme exertion of her focus and resolve. She would continue to work on a more reserved basis after the crisis. Setting a wrist broken by a small child kicking a ball around playing with friends. Delivering a pair of twins to a foreign merchant's daughter. Mending a stab wound from a victim of a mugging. As well as many more similarly mundane medical needs. None of these required much more than her natural talent alone.

She would also visit some of the victims of the disaster, ones that survived and had a good level of influence in the city. Her excuse is checking up on their condition, but she spends time getting to know them better.

Checking up on them is a great excuse for getting to know more information about people.  They also tell their doctor more than they might tell to a normal person, so you are able to find out quite a bit about the local goings on.  So far all the people you have been tending to are in your local area and all live in the Old City. What information/resource/favors are you trying to get from your more influential patients?

If you want to have access to those with influence over the city you will have to move/get access to clients in the New City.  What do u do?

Eden - Healing and Spying
Eden had never spent too much time with her father. As is tradition, she spent most of her time with tutors and caretakers so that her parents could work to benefit the Realm. Her mother would be off in some of the Satraps taming the geomantic essence of fallen manses. Her father would often be dealing with merchants and making sure business interests of the house were maintained, but when she was little he did impart some wisdom after she tried to blatantly manipulate her nanny to get extra dessert. He said "You can use people as blunt tools getting what you want once or you can form a relationship and have them want to help you for the rest of their life." Even though he hasn't said a word to her in nearly a decade due to her disappointing the family, these word stuck with her. As she visits with her patients, she speaks with no immediate desire for information, no immediate call to actions, she follows her father's guidance to build a rapport with them. She tries to cultivate patience within herself slowly expanding those that might come to respect her.

Eden - Healing and Spying
Over the next few weeks, you develop rapport and continue to grow your reputation with the people of the city.  Everyone seems to like you and sing your praises as word of your abilities is spreading. Especially with you curing Rat Pox, a particularly nagging sickness that a large number of people of the city had been suffering from.  So it comes as quite a shock when a heavy pounding on your door wakes you in the middle of the night.  "Get up!  You're coming with us."  Two relatively tiny women flank a burly looking man.  They are all dressed in a exquisitely cleaned armor with weapons ready, all made of Chiaroscuroan glass.  "Get what we need Arion."    He barks out, and a fourth man, hidden behind the guard, steps around you and enters your home  "Of course Brykis." Arion says, quickly and efficiently gathering your healing supplies in a pack he has with him.  Brykis takes you firmly by the arm and despite your cries of protest, push you out in front of the group telling you to walk.  The women are silent the entire time, and Brykis responds to any of your questions or protestations with some gruff version of "Keep walking".

You are quickly led towards the new city, torches and rubble giving way to artifact lighting coming from tall buildings of first age design.  You are taken inside of a particularly well maintained, multi-tiered building.  There is soft lighting inside coming from essence fueled magics.  Lush plants line the walls, and magnificent rugs and pillows adorn the floors.  An older woman dressed in a simple, by elegant robe rushes out to greet you, her hands folded inside the large folds of either sleeve.  She bows to you and must see the look of surprise on your face.  "Please forgive us, we asked Brykis to go and fetch you.  He can be... a bit direct sometimes, but he is a dedicated and loyal servant, one of my most trusted.  I wouldnt have woken you in the middle of the night were it not an emergency.  Please come"  With that she turns and leads you up the winding staircase that circles the wall.  There are magnificent paintings everywhere, and you are reminded of your families home on the Blessed Isle.

Once up stairs, you are taken into a room where an older man lay in bed attended by servants sitting and waiting on either side of the room.  His face is pure white, with black sores weeping a yellow ooze scattered about.  She tells you that they have tried everything, every healer, every remedy, but nothing worked.  So when they received word that some new healer had cured the Rat Pox, we sent for you straight away.

You have heard tales of a sickness like this while you were in the legion.  It is a magical sickness that resists all common cures, which causes the victim to suffer for quite a long time, before eventually claiming their life.  The mortality rate for this disease is high, and it is in the latter stages of the disease.

What else do you know about the disease?

As you inspect the man, you notice that if he is not cured, there could be dire consequences for his household, his neighborhood, and even the city itself.

What do u notice that makes this particular case so dangerous?

You remember reading a scrap of lore about a potential cure from the first age.  It was dangerous, and foolhardy and had never been tested.

What do you need to do in order to develop the cure?

What else do u do?
