The four of you are soon outside of the building you will be staying in during the tests. The women have the first two floors, men have the next two and other genders have the last floor.

There is a list of room assignments posted on the door.

Rah went to look, staying at her giant size to make it easier to read.

Rah was in room 110, m-Taa was in 204 and the Fires have adjacent rooms at the end of the second floor.

Rah waved goodnight to the others, and went on to her room so that she could decompress and rest at her normal size.

m-Taa went to her room to check if the humidity settings had been set correctly; since her species was descended from amphibians and not mammals, she was at more risk from dry skin than humans were.

And soon the next day came.

Well, time to go out and train-- Rah awoke early, had breakfast, exercised, showered, and went off to meet her destiny.  Or something like that.

...She wasn't sure if she should offer prayer to this sun.  It didn't seem necessary, for all that an orthodox Solan would have.  She wasn't really much of a Solan, though, no matter what box she'd checked for "Religious Preference" on those forms.

m-Taa lay back in the bath, a projection of Proceeding of the Interstellar Society of Exobotany in front of her.  It wouldn't do to fall behind in her field, and who knew when a plant-related emergency might arise.

A radio in your room turned on.

"In an hour, please be ready for action and gather in the conference hall."

That was no problem-- she got ready, into uniform, and headed out for the conference hall at once.

m-Taa marked her place in the journal, dried off, got dressed, and headed out.

And so morning came.

m-Taa got up, had a quick breakfast, and headed to the bathtub.

Rah stretched and got up.  She'd reverted to her true size while sleeping, of course.  More efficient.

Soon enough you both were ready to face the day, and bedmates had slipped out.

m-Taa dressed and headed down to the briefing area.

Rah did likewise, growing to her tallest size as she did so.  Easier to talk to the Giants that way.

"Breakfast is ready to be served in the main dining hall on the first floor," a voice said over a speaker.

Rah departed for breakfast at once.
