”Rereat. Kersarge, guard our escape.”Joe plants his staff into the ground and a giant wall of thorns rises up amongst the opposing group at the other entrance. Then pulls three magical stones out of his satchel to drop at his feet for others to use.

09:44, Today: Joe Dirt rolled 35 using 7d8 with rolls of 6,1,7,1,5,7,8.  Wall of Thorns piercing damage.

OOC:
Action Cast wall of thorns using Staff of the Woodlands (4 charges remaining), 60ft of wall that snakes around the area where the other group is affecting squares: B7, B6, A6, A5, B5, C5, D5, C4, C3, C2, B2, A2. Everyone affected has to roll Reflex 14 for half 35 piercing damage.

Concentration effect: A creature can move through the wall, albeit slowly and painfully. For every 1 foot a creature moves through the wall, it must spend 4 feet of movement. Furthermore, the first time a creature enters the wall on a turn or ends its turn there, the creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. It takes 7d8 slashing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Move action: move 6 squares to E1

Bonus action: Cast Magic Stone

Free action: drop all three Magic Stones in K2.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I do not believe you can shape the wall however you want. The spell would not specify the wall to be 5ft thick if you can just fold the wall to be thicker.

OOC: the spell does not state that it has to be a straight line. It creates multiple rows of wall as it winds on itself no different than what can be done with a hedge maze.

My favorite part of this game is squashing your hopes and dreams. First I paste the rules so it looks like I pay attention to them:

You create a wall of tough, pliable, tangled brush bristling with needle-sharp thorns. The wall appears within range on a solid surface and lasts for the duration. You choose to make the wall up to 60 feet long, 10 feet high, and 5 feet thick or a circle that has a 20-foot diameter and is up to 20 feet high and 5 feet thick. The wall blocks line of sight.

When the wall appears, each creature within its area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 7d8 piercing damage, or half as much damage on a successful save.

A creature can move through the wall, albeit slowly and painfully. For every 1 foot a creature moves through the wall, it must spend 4 feet of movement. This might be the fastest PVP battle ever.

Kersarge, I have no idea where to put you, you didn't use the grid to indicate. You slip on a banana peel and stay right where you are. 2 bludgeoning damage.

Private lines are annoying and revealed to all: Private to GM: 12:44, Today: Secret Roll: Rangrim Stormaxe rolled 3 using 1d20 with rolls of 3.  Dexterity Saving Throw.

Mharva moves to and attacks Gorzil for 20dmg, her giant spikey hand is like a morningstar.

Drowned 2 wakes up from it's death, shredding more of its flesh as it moves out of the thorns. It falls unconscious again.

Naldath moves to and attacks Kersarge, smashing him for 25dmg.

Hold it DM, before Mharva attacks Gorzil, she must roll a con save or be poisoned by Gorzils Trog stench. Her attack will then be put on a disadvantage.

Unseen by all due to the wall of thorns, Rangrim stepped slowly out of the wall but then collapsed from the many thorns that had somehow cut him up even as he moved.
