Re: ABILITY SCORES

Orlen carries a bow....Orlen seems to carry a lot of weapons

He is only 1st level in Ranger and thus hasn't taken a combat style
My feats are dodge and mobility (needed for gnome giant slayer)

Re: ABILITY SCORES

DM Neogi:
The second method is one I invented back in the 2ed days. Never seen anyone else use it. Although you lose 2 dice compared to the 4d6 method, you gain by being able to mix the dice pool into combinations you prefer. If you have never done it why not give it a couple of spins and see what kind of scores you get?

----------------------------------
quote:
rules as written state that str is applied to damage like with "thrown weapons"...but when it comes to the range...is it a thrown weapon with a max of 5 range increments (making the max range 250 ft, decent range) or is it classified in with the bows as a projectile weapon concerning range, using 10 range increments (making the range 500 ft, not unbelievable)

I would assume that to gain the strength bonus you would have to use the lower range. BUt if someone can find an official rule on it I will accept it.

Slings use the 10 range increment max and strength bonus applies up to maximum range.

Projectile Weapons

Light crossbows, slings, heavy crossbows, shortbows, composite shortbows, longbows, composite longbows, hand crossbows, and repeating crossbows are projectile weapons. Most projectile weapons require two hands to use (see specific weapon descriptions). A character gets no Strength bonus on damage rolls with a projectile weapon unless it’s a specially built composite shortbow, specially built composite longbow, or sling. If the character has a penalty for low Strength, apply it to damage rolls when he or she uses a bow or a sling

overburdened past heavy load, but ready to go

You did remember yo halve all armor and weapons for small size?
1/4 on lot of gear
course you have only 3/4s normal carrying load as a small creature

it is not halve it is 1/4 and yes i did remember that, but thank you for the reminder about the 3/4 reduction in carry weight. his heavy load is corrected to 15 lbs, and he was carrying 30.79 lbs...now he is carrying 2 lbs

Re: ABILITY SCORES

According to SRD armor and weapon weight is half

Weight

This column gives the weight of a Medium version of the weapon. Halve this number for Small weapons and double it for Large weapons.

Weight

This column gives the weight of the armor sized for a Medium wearer. Armor fitted for Small characters weighs half as much, and armor for Large characters weighs twice as much.

I'm strong for a gnome

because orrigionaly my halfling with 1/4 weight gear was over butdened by human standards, but everything is fixed now. all that is in the past.

give me some time and a sprinkle of my own magic and i will chalenge you to a weight lifting competition.

but i have to finish building my polio braces of +999 strength

Re: ABILITY SCORES

Lots of nifty tricks to reduce weight

My favorite is the spy buttons Dragon #316
The buttons can flash, smoke and bang
Way less weight than smokesticks and thunderstones; just a super fashionable

I got to thinking if you were using Mithral armor then it would be halved again and thus would be a quarter :).

Re: ABILITY SCORES

oh i am good on the equipment front. I am good for a while.

For now I would see if there is anyone else that would need help.

P.S. once I have gold on hand again I will pay 105%  of market value for any thing and everything.

Points at rock giant just threw at me...what is the market value of this...nom nom ..my gear gets better.

P.P.S. with that magic spread sheet I already know that the tradegood value of raw undressed stone is 2 copper per 5 cubic feet

My wife spent a total of a month and a half at the beginning of the 2019.. But because of the neumonia they found the cancer and got it all before it could spread. So mixed blessings.
You are in my prayers

Re: ABILITY SCORES

So I think that we are just about ready to start. There are a few last bits of character creation and what-not that need to be completed but we can start things going and fill in the missing parts as we go along.

I added a second map showing the lands of Damara. The valley where we are starting in in the south between Valls and the Monastery of the Yellow Rose (spelt wrong on the map or was that intentional by Greenwood or whomever back in the day?), closer to Valls. Nice and close to the monastery for all you monk PCs.

I assume that this will be more of a sandbox game so you all can get up to what you want but I do have a short introductory adventure to get things rolling.
